Was craving some Chinese food and ran across this Chinese Take-out place just south of Old Town in a plaza. Reviews looked good so I gave it try. Ordered a couple combo lunch platters - they come with rice and egg roll, pretty good deal. Tried the Moo goo Gai Pan and Beef with Vegetables. The Moo goo GainPan looked great- fresh veggies and chicken in a white sauce- was a little on the garlicky side and a little bland for me- but was super good. The Beef dish looked equally well prepared with lots of fresh veggies and tender sliced beef. I had one order with fried rice - which was delicious and the other with plain white rice. The egg rolls were crispy and feeling - but a little bland - added some hot Chinese mustard to give it a kick. Overall - I was impressed by the large size of the lunch serving and the freshness of the ingredients. The service was super quick and staff very friendly. Prices were super good and reasonable. Portion sizes were great. Can't wait to order again and try some other items- something a little more spicy next time. Stop by and check them out ! read more

This is my go to when it comes to Chinese food! The lady who's at the front is always so pleasant, nice and happy! Now It's been a while since I've eaten from here and I was a bit shocked. Usually when I order, the fried rice was yellow and you may be shocked at the color but it was delicious. This time it's the regular color that fried rice is supposed to look like. The flavor wasn't all there so it was ok to me. However The beef and broccoli was a hit. The broccoli wasn't too soft, just the way I like it and the beef was tender! The orange chicken was ok. It wasn't as flavorful as it was before. I'll keep coming back and see if it gets better but I still love this place compared to other Chinese places in the surrounding area! read more

Super tasty food! I especially love their beef skewer appetizer and the Chicken Mei Fun noodles. The pot stickers are also super tasty. I've lived in Chicago for 20 years and have tried a few of the Chinese restaurants in Winchester. This place is very tasty and compares to some of the best Chinese restaurants I loved in Chicago. Omg I think this is the best Chinese food I have ever had.. So I ordered General Tso Chicken..small order of Ribs from appitizers. Crab Ragoon..Eggroll..and Egg Wonton soup. I had them deliver it and I'm thankful for that. Altogether I spent $26 and it was well spent I'm stuffed. Flavorful..hot good food. When the chinese making ribs better than....well get you some they are great and meaty a great sauce on them. Im so full Im struggling for word's so Ima do a few photos. read more

I personally did not like any of the food. This was my 2nd time going; I didn't care for the food the first time. This time, the sauce for the chicken egg foo young tasted slightly scorched. Well I had high hopes. I tried ordering yesterday but I took so long to order that the place closed. I ended up just ordering Red Robin, my favorite but was really in the mood for Chinese/ sushi. My order was late last night and I got a $10 delivery coupon so tonight, I ordered early about 6:30pm. It said estimated delivery 7:35pm. Okay cool, my kids are in bed at 8pm. I get a message at 7:25 and my first delivery driver texts and says that China Wok was short staffed and busy so my food is taking longer, okay. That's fine, my kids go to sleep at 8. It now said 7:40pm ETA. At quarter til 9, my order was finally delivered. My order had changed delivery drivers 4x by the time the last one waited for an entire 35 minutes to deliver. Not cool. I get my food. I ordered Sesame chicken w white rice, crab ragoons, shrimp tempura, and a winchester roll. I tried the crab ragoon's first, there was 6. They were good and the sauce was good but in a weird way. There was a strong peanut oil taste and they didn't look or feel exactly fresh, they were cold. Next, I went for the winchester roll which was arguably the best item I ordered. The soy sauce was good. It was supposed to be cold so that helped. The shrimp tempura, not so good. I could only eat 1 of them and I didn't even wanna finish that one. The "crispy" was actually pretty soggy and also cold. It's left a bad after taste in my mouth. The sesame chicken, same thing. It didn't taste fresh at all, the same weird after taste that I still haven't gotten rid of. So 1 star for the winchester roll and if possible, I'd give .5 for the ragoons. Literally everything else was terrible. I couldn't finish the sesame chicken, didn't eat the broccoli because it has the bad tasting sauce on it, couldn't get eat the other pieces of tempura and they are all very small proportions then what you're used to if you're thinking "traditional" Chinese so keep that in mind. Best Chinese food in Winchester! Consistently delicious! Large portions! My favorite place for takeout!

I found Jin Zhou and Wong's a bit better than this place. Sometimes they got my order wrong and I thought the delivery minimum fee was fairly high. What is nice is that they put the food in takeout cartons which in my opinion hold the food up a lot better than if they put them in Styrofoam containers. For some reason a lot of take out chinese restaurants do that here and I do not know why. These guys do it right with the storage and it shows. The wonton soup and crispy noodles also were very good. Delivery was often fast for chinese food standards and their food was fairly hot upon receipt of it. Unfortunately for me its very okay. I prefer Jin Zhou or Wong's over these folks because of the bigger portions and they also have a wider array of items to pick from. read more

It's Westernized Chinese food in an area that really doesn't have a large Asian population, so there's not a lot of choices. What they do do well is get hot food to you quickly, but that is also somewhat their downfall in that the rush to get it out the door, they often miss stuff in orders. Food tends to be fairly bland -- dishes that should be spicy are tamed down for Western tastes, even if you ask for spicy. It's acceptable for what it is, but Good Fortune in Ashburn is so much more awesome that the extra 20 min drive is not an problem. read more

We order a lot of delivery from another town, but this is the first time from Winchester late at night. We received fantastic customer service 10 minutes until closing and they would deliver! I ordered the steamed dumplings, pork fried rice, and chicken with broccoli. The delivery guy was extremely nice, quick to arrive. Good tip for that and being the last trip out. Time to dig in. My bf loved the pork fried rice and he isn't a fan of asian foods, the chicken and broccoli was delicious and comparable to other places, the dumplings were the homemade-like (thin, not doughy like many other places) and full of MEAT. I wanted to leave a review because since October of 2015, there has been a definite downslide in quality / experience here. Something has occured internal that is affecting the restaurant. #1 - There is now no-one that speaks English that works at the restaurant, aside from the delivery driver. There used to be a Chinese-american man that could speak fluent English and Chinese, but he is gone. Everything goes fine as long as you order directly from the menu (ie, #1, #7, etc...), but if you have to make a special request, or change the type of rice, for example, the staff does not understand because they can't speak english. I don't blame them, i blame the ownership for not having someone that can speak english and translate to Chinese. #2 - Something was going on where a worker was arguing with another worker about sexual harassment / some type of investigation that was going on. This was all going on in front of customers eating in the store. It made for an uncomfortable experience. #3 - ordering at lunch time is rough. The kitchen is going fast to get everything out, but because no one speaks english, when orders come out sometimes no one knows who they belong to. Customers can't understand the workers and vice versa. It is chaotic. Bottom line - the food is still good, but until they fix the communication problem, more orders are going to come out wrong than right. My only choice left is to take a chinese speaking co-worker when i go to order lunch. read more

Gross. Bad. Don't eat here. We ordered delivery from here today because we got a flier on our door. I don't know what all the positive reviews are for. This is THE WORST Chinese food I've ever had. My girlfriend and I ordered shrimp toast, scallops/lo mein, sesame chicken/lo mein. The shrimp toast spent waaay to long in the frier and was burnt to a crisp. My "scallops" were deep fried in a gross crusty breading and they were actually imitation crab shaped like a scallop (round). It was so gross I just threw them away after eating 2. The sesame chicken was so bland and flavorless that my girlfriend didn't eat it. The lo mein was decent. I will never attempt to eat food from here again. read more

Why I'm never going back after my first time there last night: 1) I ordered three entrees and four appetizers at the counter to take away. One of the entrees didn't even make it into the bag, and I not only had paid for it, I gave them 15% tip on the bill for a pickup order. I sure felt dumb when I got home. 2) BOTH of the other entrees had hair in them when I opened the trays. I did note while I was waiting there that none of the many kitchen staffers were wearing a hair net or hat. 3) While I was sitting and waiting, a delivery driver returned with a delivery order that was canceled, threw it on a table, and argued loudly with the counter clerk about not calling him if an order was canceled. Unprofessional. 4) Of what we did eat, the sauces were gloppy, everything was overcooked, and it had the taste of "I don't care about my job or restaurant." Really, this was just a miserable experience overall. Yuk. If you want Chinese in this area, China Gourmet up the street off Millwood is a lot better (and cleaner). read more

I came here about a week ago during there dinner hours, they seemed to be more staffed now and have some Americans working which can make ordering easier, smart move on there part in my opinion. I ordered the sesame shrimp, my mom really enjoyed it and wondered why I hadn't brought her food from there before :) Also saw that local Asians also come here ordering the shrimp fried rice. I didn't find my experience as enjoyable as the first time I came here as they seem to be more of a lack-luster general takeout spot now and the ingredients didn't seem quite as fresh although I'd still recommend trying it and would still come here again although I feel lunch time hours are best. read more
