I've been to other Chinese restaurants here in this town, but this one at this location is my favorite. It's more of a takeout place rather than a dine in restaurant. I ordered general tso chicken, fried rice with fried egg roll, crab meat rangoon , fried dumplings and fried biscuits. Everything was delicious, egg roll was crispy and not dripping with oil, the crab meat rangoon was very good, the dumplings were good as well, I was happy with my entire order. I searched around & I called 15 minutes before 9 .. they close at 9:30... put in a order for their combination Fried Rice. Comes with Shrimp, chicken & pork. I received a flyer in the mail for this restaurant and decided to give them a try. Ordered three dinner combo meals that included: Hot and Spicy Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Sesame Chicken. The food was gross. Plain and simple, the white rice was so dry, it was nearly crunchy. No flavor at all. I really could have had better Chinese food from a can. I picked up my food for carry out but noticed the seating inside the restaurant was very limited. Based on the layout, I would have walked out without ordering had I planned to eat inside. Impressivley bad. I do not understand how it could be so awful, unless they put effort to make it awful on purpose. Serously by far the worst takeout food I have ever had. We ordered sweet & sour chicken, the sauce was cold & congealed. Even when I heated it up, it was still gross & gelatiny. The crab rangoons were not crispy, and i am not confident they were fully cooked. So those were thrown out. The fried rice was pretty bland. My eggroll was the only thing that wasnt inedible. They used to be so good, the best chinese take out in winchester. But these last few times weve ordered in the last year or so, they have been getting progressivly worse. I was very disappointed in this food. I have 2 stars instead of 1 because they at least delivered in a timely manner. My husband and I both got the sesame chicken dinner specials (with an egg roll and rice). I also got the egg drop soup. The egg roll was some how mushy and chewy at the same time; essentially flavorless. The rice was strangely dry, but not too bad. My husband's fried rice was "mediocre". The egg drop soup was pretty gross. Tasted like metal and wasn't salty enough (shocking, right?) and the fried bits that cake with it (sorry, I can't remember what they were called) were flaky and cold and not crunchy like they're supposed to be. This place is pretty authentic. The inside isn't much to look at, they had a big round table in case you wanted to sit down but really nothing on the walls. This isn't a sit down restaurant persé. They had their young son take my order at the counter and you can see all the family/cooks cooking behind him as they leave the kitchen very visible. This has got to be one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. It's a dingy dark little hole in the wall next to Food Lion on Valley Avenue. No booths just rickety tables and chairs. I was the only customer in the building. No Abeyance at all, just plain walls, no music, an aquarium that was half full of water with five goldfish and a small little refrigerator sitting next to the counter with cans of soda. Also three boxes containing packs of soy sauce, mustard, hot sauce and duck sauce where you could grab what you wanted. First of all you are not waited on. You must go to this dirty little counter upfront and place your order. Then when it's ready they yell what is ready and you walk back up to the counter to pick it up. Soft drinks are in cans. You eat on plastic plates and are given a plastic fork to eat with. I ordered Kung Pow Shrimp. They should rename it kung pow celery because it was 80% celery. Ordered two egg-rolls which were actually burned. I've never had that happen before in my life but they were so over deep fried they flaked to pieces. My first order was made wrong. Cook looked at me and said order ready Kung pow chicken. I yelled back no I ordered Kung Pow Shrimp. He yelled back oh sorry and remade the meal. I watched The staff cooking and the Chinaman Who had taken my order was scratching his face and then putting his hands in the ingredients to add to the wok and did not wash his hands or have gloves on. I hope I am not sick later. No one ever asked me how things were but I guess it's a good thing because I would have told the truth! I will never return to this dump. So angry. The woman running the counter and phone is probably the owner. She would have otherwise been fired long ago. I order takeout here sometimes, because it's close by and the food is passable, though in no way special. Never again. Recently, I called in an order for broccoli in garlic sauce and two other vegetarian dishes. I made the 9 mile round trip to pick it up and get it home. Upon opening, I dumped the food onto plates and found no garlic broccoli, but a chicken dish instead. No problem. Honest mistake. Bit of a pain, but I figured I'd call them and go replace it. Instead, the woman on the phone insisted I ordered the chicken. I've been a vegetarian for 30 years and I don't accidentally order chicken. She eventually relented, but told me to bring back the chicken. I had already dumped it onto a bed of rice, so I scraped it back into the container and drove back to China House II. Upon arrival, I gave the chicken to the woman and asked for the broccoli replacement. She took the container and opened it on the counter in front of me and said, "You tried my chicken." She had not put in the order for the replacement dish. She assumed I was grifting her in order to score free food and then accused me of such, even though I dutifully returned the stupid chicken. I understand mistakes happen. I'm a very patient and reasonable person. I don't yell at anyone, but my voice got quite loud this time. As she ducked into the kitchen mid-confrontation, a man came out to try to make peace - something he had clearly had to do on other occasions. "It's ok. It's ok," he kept saying. "It's not ok," I replied. "She just accused me of stealing and dishonesty, after making me miss dinner with my family, drive back here, and return food so that she could inspect it. It is definitely NOT OK." Ten minutes of awkward waiting happened, then the woman returned with the replacement broccoli dish (no rice). She made no eye contact. I usually eat at Asian Bento at the mall always perfect service. I ordered here through Door Dash I got the Honey Chicken and Rice. Immediately I knew something was off, The chicken had the texture of celery I had to chew and chew. I opened it up and it doesn't look like chicken it looks the inside of a hush puppie. The food is great here! Not greasy, actually very light. The staff is courteous. This is literally, the best in the Washington DC area. It is the closest you are going to get, short of flying to China, and having them cook for you. I love it, and it is a favorite. read more

When ordering on the phone be prepared for some frustration with the language barrier. They do have a new web site to order on line. I moved here to Winchester in February from Rhode Island I've been ordering food from this restaurant for a while now their food is excellent but they always seem to get my order wrong well I ordered food last night from them and they got my order wrong once again the driver comes to my house and wanted a $7 tip with a $30 order which he would have gotten a tip if he not expected a $7 tip and by the way free delivery but I call to people after he left and told them my order is not right again I have spent $296.28 since February so when I called the lady was very angry very rude would not listen to anything I had to say all she can say was you order this I say I do not order this she continued to yell at me over and over again and I said please can you send me the food that I ordered and she said what this is gonna cost you 7:07 I said not a problem I just want to get what i order then she says it will be 1 hour before can get there I said that is a long wait so so then I hung up I look for my food and and look at the rest of my food and I found something in there that I did not order so I called that lady back and continued to yell at me do not listening to what I had to say I said please listen lady I did not order the shrimp here please can you credit my account and take it back when you bring my food she started to yell and scream at me you not give my driver no tip at all I tried to tell her why but she would not listen she say I bring your food you give my driver $2 I said okay that's fine whatever when is free delivery you don't have to give a tip it's only out of the kindness of your heart that you give a tip I always tip but when they demanded tip I think it's very wrong so I choose not to eat at this restaurant ever again the rudeness and the unnecessary yelling at me is not worth it there are lots of restaurants to eat at and when you pay for your food you expected to be right you don't expect to get yelled at screen.
