Do yourself a favor and stop comparing different companies. Have had 3 moves over a decade with…read moreStairhopper and I won't go anywhere else. Timely, efficient, responsible, and insightful. Alec and Philippe did a great job. Highly satisfied. Alec offered suggestions for protecting items that I'm grateful for. Philippe did not quit. The move consisted of moving large items and a few boxes from small 1 BR apartment to a nearby storage unit. The back office made the quote process easy and my move came right in line with the quote. Not saying that will always happen but I had prepared ahead of time to secure parking, access, elevator, and loading dock. Do your homework! The care and professionalism is why I chose Stairhopper and have used this company for my prior moves !

I would strongly caution anyone considering Stairhopper Movers in Everett, MA, based on my…read moreexperience dealing with them after their movers damaged a 125-year-old stained-glass window at my rental property. My tenants had hired Stairhopper to move them out, and during the move, the crew broke a stained-glass window that is over 125 years old. Unfortunately, what followed was even more frustrating than the damage itself. My tenant contacted three stained-glass companies, but only one responded. The owner of that company came out to inspect the window and said he would email a repair estimate later. In the meantime, I contacted Stairhopper and asked to speak with the general manager. I was told the manager was unavailable and that I needed to obtain three estimates. By Friday afternoon, I had sent emails with photos to 10 different companies and called all 10. Every single one told me they were too busy with major projects to take on a small window repair. Despite my efforts, I could only obtain one estimate. On Tuesday, I spoke with a woman named Renata and explained the situation. I told her I had contacted 10 companies and could only get one estimate. She insisted that three estimates were required. After I pushed to speak with the general manager, I was told the information would be passed along and that I should submit the estimate I had. I did exactly that. The general manager, Derek, then accused me of being difficult and told me his insurance would handle the claim. I had no problem with that and simply asked for the insurance company's name and a claim number. Instead, I was given the insurance broker's contact information and told I would have to wait 24-48 hours for a claim number. By Friday, I still had not received one, so I called Derek to ask for an update. He began yelling at me, accused me again of being difficult, and hung up on me. At that point, I decided to drive to Stairhopper's office on Second Street in Everett to get the insurance information myself. While I was sitting in traffic, my wife found the insurance carrier's information, and I called the carrier directly to file a claim. To my surprise, the insurance company told me that no claim had been filed for the incident and that I was the first person to report the property damage for that address. The process of contacting the carrier and reporting the damage took me approximately 18 minutes. When I arrived at Stairhopper's office, Derek appeared caught off guard and continued blaming me for the situation. I explained that I needed to get the window repaired because I rent the apartment and cannot leave a damaged window boarded up indefinitely. His response was to ask me what I do all day that allows me to worry about a window. He then slammed the door in my face. This entire experience has been unacceptable. Accidents can happen, but a company's responsibility should be to address property damage professionally, communicate honestly, and make a reasonable effort to resolve the situation. Instead, I spent days chasing estimates, repeatedly calling for information, and ultimately filing the insurance claim myself. The damage to a 125-year-old stained-glass window was bad enough. Being treated this way while trying to resolve the issue made the experience significantly worse. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Stairhopper Movers. If something goes wrong during your move, consider carefully how the company handles the problem afterward. In my case, getting a straightforward insurance claim started became a frustrating ordeal that I should never have had to manage myself
