As expected, they were easy to work with, pleasant all around from the texts to the phone to the muscle! Three nice guys showed up. We weren't even done packing yet, which they took in stride, and helped us wrap, box and tape like champs. They even had to take some big items out the back way and hoist them over the 2nd floor railing! In the new place, they positioned our rugs, and our sofa and desks, even assembled our Sleep Number bed and adjusted the setting. They are VERY experienced in all things! And only one item broke, and it was too easy to break, and will be good as new with some Crazy Glue. I hope we don't have to move again anytime soon (knock wood!) but if we do, I know who to call!

We had high hopes, but unfortunately, were blatantly lied to and this is honestly the worst professional experience I've ever had in my 30 years. The sales person that we spoke to named Cliff told us that the move would take up to 14 business days (which is 3 weeks), which was unfortunately too long for us as my husband works from home and we needed to be out of our place by the 30th which would potentially put us sleeping on the floor for 2+ weeks. So we told him that we weren't able to do it and instead we rented a U-Haul and planned to do the move ourselves. He then called us a couple days later saying that he talked with Michael and said he "worked something out" and that we SO LUCKY because their 2 18 wheeler trucks needed to be back by the 14th for a big move, so our things would HAVE to be delivered by October 5th. I have this in writing as well that our things would arrive by October 5. The day of the move comes around and they make a sign of contract that says our things could be delivered in up to 21 business days, which is a whole month. This was never an agreed upon or discussed and made us very nervous. And as it turns out Cliff LIED, and made up the entire elaborate story that he told us that the trucks had to be back by a certain date in order to get our sale. I guess the jokes on us, because we put our faith in Cliff when we shouldn't have. Our things didn't even get loaded on the truck until October 5, and we waited an extra 1.5 weeks for our things. It's not about how long the movers took if 14 business days was what was agreed upon, it's the fact that we were lied to about how quickly they could get it to us in order to get our money and that we would have never have gone through with this if he hadn't lied; we were fully prepared to move ourselves and had a uhaul already rented. The amount of stress that this company caused us is not worth it, I would not recommend them to anyone, and they also mislabeled our boxes and didn't label several boxes. Even the movers that came to unload the truck when it finally arrived in California told us that we should file a complaint about the mistakes that were made in Boston. Shame on this company for feeding lies to get people's money, they truly don't care about people. When I tried to discuss it with Cliff to ask what happened to the plan, he immediately shut me down and ended the conversation. I reached out to info@michelsmovers.com for support and more information about where our stuff was, and I sent along screenshots of the dates that were discussed, and we NEVER EVEN HEARD BACK. They truly don't care about their customers who pay them $7000. BUT that was not the case at Pride storage 2 centre st Wakefield. I booked a reservation at 430pm Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and shortly after I was being shown the grounds by a wonder man named Bob This facility is 81 units and they are all easily accessible. the units look brand new, no smell, we'll light and the price I was quoted is it NO adding fees or admin charges. also the cost for a 10x20 unit was basically the same as the competitors are charging for 10x10 unit on the fourth floor It's great value for my money and it was an easy transaction I would highly advise using this place for storage in the future Thanks

Whitehouse Movers is an exceptional moving company. We hired them on a recent move from Melrose to…read moreWaltham. First, the movers are professional, courteous, and helpful. They were extremely professional, efficiently moving furniture, dozens and dozens of boxes, and all our miscellaneous crap in no time. A security officer asked them to move the truck in the middle of the move, meaning that the movers had to pack up and secure all our crap immediately, bring in the ramp, and close up the truck. They did so respectfully and without becoming angry or unprofessional. They took excellent care of our belongings, including some antique tables and glassware. The only "casualties" of the move were one broken dish (which I didn't pack well), a small dent in an end table, and a tear in a (cheap) lamp shade. Second, they were extremely time- and cost-efficient. They managed to move us out of our apartment and into our house in just over five hours, including 20 minutes to move the truck and a 30 minute drive between the apartment and the house. They worked very well as a team, and made excellent use of the time, saving up almost $100 off the initial estimate. There are no hidden fees for stairs, elevators, ramps, orange carpets, or sticky doors. The estimate they give you up front is what you'll pay, unless they save you time like they did for us. We were very pleased with the moving company and would recommend them to anyone moving into or around the Boston area.

We had a scheduled assessment and they didn't show. Called up and they sent someone. On the day of the move the guys had no idea that there was an additional room that needed to be moved. They left without saying anything. We were trying to finish cleaning the house. We noticed they were gone and didn't take our bikes. my husband had to stop them before they left to tell them about the additional pieces to move. Then they left. We went to our new place and the arrived 15 minutes after we did. Once they finished moving in what they took they told us it would be 500 more. When they were doing the initial room they said they weren't going to charge us more than the original quote. ( We will stick to your budget - they said) We are no longer recommend them.

Beacon St in Brighton) only had one. I didn't even know this was an option until I clicked on "locate nearby" and Watertown Self Storage popped up. Not only did they have what I needed (and picked up 30 minutes later) but to avoid the craziness at the N. Beacon St location is a relief. Watertown Self Storage is clean, organized and new; U-Haul is old, dirty and a hot mess. The 9 foot cargo van is also available for pick up here (and can be picked up during off hours!!!) and I have a tentative reservation for that later this month as well. They really care about your stuff, and make sure that they don't break or bang your stuff. We asked the majority of the items go in our large (fully empty) basement. We should have inspected the work before paying but with the exhaustion of the move we did not think to. We were so upset to see how our belongings were just tossed about, heavy bins put on boxes that were starting to buckle under the weight, fragile items throw on top of piles of boxes, everything was clustered to one area so it's challenging to access while the rest of the basement as well as several shelving units remained empty. They also quoted one price and ended up charging more than the estimate as they begin billing their day from when they leave their house, not when they arrive to your location for the move. I reached out in writing to express my concerns and have yet to hear back. DO NOT USE THEM. Im certain some of our items are now damaged, in addition to how much more work we now face going through the absolute mess they made.

I ran across this site and the reviews seemed great. So I clicked was taken to the Home landing page. But then when I tried to get rates, etc., it kept taking me to a uhaul site that had boxes. I went back and forth trying to figure it out. The home page has pictures of ACTUAL STORAGE UNITS. I finally called. And guess what. THEY DO NOT HAVE STORAGE UNITS. This is very misleading. And some of the reviews are for units. What gives? I am more than annoyed. 20 minutes I will never get back.

There were 3 very bulky and heavy (and expensive) machines that we were concerned about, but Miguel & his crew wrapped them up securely and got them there safely. The team was very efficient and professional from start to finish. And the planning and communication beforehand was seamless. There were a few other movers we considered, but East Coast was the only one who responded quickly and were friendly, transparent, and fair. Luis and made us feel like we're in good hands, and they earned our business and trust as a result. We couldn't be more pleased with how our move went and will definitely use them again.

This could be the worst run business I have ever seen. I had a storage unit here for about 9…read moremonths and I could not say one good thing about the place except for the fact that it was cheap. Trust me, I understand why it is cheap. Normally I would say that it is just a storage unit, so how could it vary much from others...but I was completely wrong. FIRST OFF, their hours are ridiculous. They are "convenient" for the people who work there and not the people who have units there. They close at "4:45pm" on weekdays. Like seriously, who closes at the that time? Not 6, not 5, but quarter to 5. Like a normal person, I mostly do not get out of work until 5. So them closing at 4:45 makes it convenient for NOBODY to grab stuff from their storage unit, but only makes it convenient for the people who work there to avoid rush hour traffic. SECOND, the people who work there are rude. Maria, I think is her name, acts as if you are doing her a favor by being a customer there. "I am sorry, am I not paying you for my storage unit?" One time I really had to grab something from my storage unit and they closed the gates at about 4:35. I had to drive around to the main office and when I walked in, she was standing there as if she was looking at the clock ready to lock the door and get out of there. I asked her to please open the gate so I could access my unit and she said something like "well you better hurry up." What ever happened to the days of accommodating the customer? THANKS FOR BEING SO ACCOMMODATING. I had to rush up to my unit and make sure I was out promptly before 4:45 so she could leave. What a joke. The opposite of customer service. I am in sales and I pride myself on customer service and there is nothing that aggravates me more than bad service. This was beyond bad service. THIRD, they are so cheap. One would ask "It is a storage unit... how could all of this be true for such a simple business?" Oh it is. They put no money back into their facilities, making it inconvenient for customers. The freight elevator is always broken and they never fix it. You can tell the locks on the elevators are all cheap "makeshift" locks that break, and makes it so the elevator won't work. When you enter the house that the second level units are in you have to open a garage door to get in. The thing is SO loud. Put some WD40 on it. THEN, the lights in the facility are on a timer. When I originally first got my unit, it was a 30 minute timer and almost every time I got left upstairs in my unit when the light went out. So frustrating. THEN, THEY HAD THE NERVE TO TAKE OUT THE 30 MINUTE TIMERS AND INSTALL 15 MINUTE ONES, JUST TO SAVE $$$$ ON ELECTRICITY. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! From there on out I should have turned the dial to the full 15 minutes before I left, just to run up their electric bill. So cheap. There is also no heat or AC in the building. I mean AC, I get it, but no heat in the winter gets brutal. Put some money into the place. There was one worker there, I forget his name, but he was a very nice man. I could tell they did not treat him right, but he was a hard worker. He opened the gates for people and fixed things when they were broken. He should be praised. He was always very accommodating to me and I thank him for that. A few more things - they are are open for 4 hours and 45 minutes on Sunday. What kind of business hours are those? I mean, really? At least give me 6 hours. Also, every time you open the door to your unit, you literally have to wear ear plugs because the sound the door makes when you open and close it is so loud, it literally frightens you. As for McCarthy self storage, get ready to be inconvenienced and appalled at the level of service every time you enter the premises... that is if you can make it there during their business hours. TERRIBLE. TAKE A CLASS ON SERVICE.

However, the price and location were right, so I decided to try it anyway. After all, I could always leave if I hated it. I'm glad I did. McCarthy Self Service Storage is a decent and competitively-priced storage facility. While it shows signs of use, I find it as clean as most storage facilities I've used. Maria was working when I visited, and while she is no shrinking violet, she was pleasant and helpful. The second floor units are accessed by a flight of stairs, but your cargo can ride in the freight elevator if it's too much to carry. This feature was nice when I was there: I could load a significant portion of my truck into the freight elevator, close it up, send it upstairs, and then unload it, rather than making many trips up and down. The entrance to the elevator is outside, so you can pull your car or truck right up to it. The only thing that would make it better is some flatbed dollies and handtrucks for rolling the stuff to and from the unit, but oh well. Of course, the Achilles' Heel of this design is that only 1 person can use the fright elevator at any time, so if there had been another customer using it ahead of me, I would have had to wait, or carried my stuff up the stairs. The freight elevator has some peculiarities that Maria showed me; after following her instructions, it worked fine for me. Chris A. is correct when he states that the hours at McCarthy's are much more limited than at most storage facilities; I guess this is something you just accept or don't; there are plenty of other places that have automated code-activated gates, etc. so that you can access them on a more liberal schedule; they also cost more. He is also correct that the non-climate controlled interior reflects the comfort of the ambient temperature; again this is a take-it-or-leave-it proposition based on your needs and wants vs. willingness to pay. I had to reset the timer on the lights once during my visit; unless you are spending an oddly large amount of time in your unit, this should not be a major issue. Conclusion: McCarthy is a decent storage option for a person whose needs are compatible with what they offer.
