I had a thi bowl, which was really good. Super spicy (by request.) It was big sp I took somw home for lunch the next day. Definitely will be back. I can't remember the name of the cocktail but it was also super good!

Ordered a draft beer and it wasn't even filled to the top. Commented on that to the server but she didn't seem to really care as she didn't respond. The Angry Lettuce Wraps were just "okay". Nothing special. Barely any chicken on the lettuce and didn't actually taste very fresh. Had way too much dressing compared to the toppings. Wouldn't ever choose to order again. Also, won't be returning here again.

My friend and I were seeing a play at the Jubilee theatre later in the evening and made a reservation for 6pm. The restaurant was completely full with people being told the wait was up to 90 minutes so definitely make a reservation if there's an event going on at the Jubliee. According to our server, almost everyone dining there was also going to be attending the play. Service was very fast which is always appreciated when you have a tight timeline. I started things off with the Passion Fruit Chili Margarita. It was good but didn't have quite the kick I was hoping for. The chili flavour mostly came from the salted rim but it would have been nice if it had something more in the drink itself. It looks like one of my comments from a previous review was the lack of spice on a dish here so I guess I'm asking Earl's to spice things up! For my main course, I had the vegan tofu sushi tacos. They were tasty but not very filling. That wasn't a huge problem though as it left plenty of room for dessert. I actually ended up having the opposite problem with the key lime pie - while it was delicious, it was much bigger than I expected and I wasn't quite able to finish it all.

Also, they provided the birthday person a free dessert which was nice. Our server was friendly and the wait for food didn't seem too long but we were chatting so I lost track of time. The only thing was the lighting got darker and it was a bit too dark. I would definitely consider coming back again for late night eats!

Even…read morethough it was later, there was still a good amount of tables seemingly chatting away with mostly ordering drinks and some with food as well. However, there were still several tables available though for a quick seating. Though we got sat pretty quickly, we didn't put in our food orders until 15 minutes later after we had been sat. Initially, our server came to check up on us the first time after 5 minutes but didn't show up again until the 15 minute mark to take our order. Our orders itself took roughly 45 minutes to come out and we were not checked up on during this time. When the food itself came, most of the food was just slightly above room temperature and not hot. This experience made us feel like we were eating because we were hungry but not because we enjoyed the food. It was also disappointing as well since the prices here are definitely pricier but didn't reflect in the quality of food and service. The ambiance of the restaurant is dark and trendy making it seem like a go to place for people to come for drinks. It seems like this is a better place to come to chat and drink with friends than really get a quality meal.

This was one of the highlights of our year! We came here for our anniversary…read more The atmosphere was sophisticated. The staff were friendly and attentive. And the food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the farro salad with chicken, it was hands down the best salad I have ever had! Every bite was different and you would think that too many items would make it confusing but it all worked together. Clearly an expert chef put that one together. Hubs had the black cod spaghetti with curry cream sauce, it was also amazing. It was definitely Asian fusion but it really worked! Our desserts were delicious, the butter cake was delicious and I'm not really a fan of cake. My creme brule was also good, standard vanilla, nothing exceptional but still good. All together a really wonderful experience and I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Just make your way to XIX. We went in on a Thursday evening and were seated in the lounge. The salad we ordered to share as an appie was good. Drinks were delicious. We ordered the Coconut Atlantic Salmon and the Tenderloin Steak medium rare. The salmon was good, but the steak was cooked beyond well done - so much so that it was chewy. I asked to have the steak sent back and ordered the Harvest Salad instead. After a little while, my partner was almost done their meal and my salad had not arrived, so I asked to have the order cancelled. The server said she would cancel it, then came back 5-10 minutes later to say that it was almost ready and asked if I still wanted it. By this point my partner was almost done with their meal. I said I'd still like it cancelled and ordered a dessert to take home. The server arrived after about another 5 minutes with a box. Thinking it was the dessert, I was about to ask for the bill, but she said it was the salad and I could take it or leave it. I told her I did not want it, she said she would leave it, and repeated that I could leave it if I wanted. The dessert came soon after along with the bill. The salad was still on the bill. I asked to have it removed and the server said she could not. She called over the manager who said they were not going to take it off the bill because I took too long to cancel it. I explained that I cancelled it, at least 5 minutes passed before it was "almost ready," and then it arrived another 5-10 minutes after that, so I did not want it, nor did I want to pay for it. She said they had already "comped" the steak so I had to pay for the salad. I told her there was nothing to "comp." The steak was inedible (I had one bite out of it and returned it), so not something to comp. It was an awful meal that no one should have to pay for. I had asked for the salad to be canceled, so again, I was not asking to have anything for free. My night was ruined, I was upset, and just wanted to leave. At this point, I didn't even care anymore, I told her I'd pay for the salad and wanted to go home. The manager said she'd ask the chef if he would take it off the bill. Again, I said no and asked for the bill with the salad so I could just leave, but she left anyway. What felt like at least another 10 minutes passed before she came back. This time she said the chef had taken the drinks off, but I had to pay for the salad. The whole experience was terrible, but the last bit felt like I was being held hostage. I wanted to pay and leave, but couldn't because they wouldn't give me the bill. We took our boxes and left. I still don't know what the point of all this was. Sure they don't want to loose money. Then why offer a steak you don't know how to cook? And, comp? Do they know what that means? There is nothing complementary about having inedible food you cannot eat taken off your bill. I ordered the salad and cancelled. I don't know how their kitchen works, even if I had taken too long to cancel, I did not deserve to be kept there after I agreed to pay for it. They took the drinks off and not the salad? I think the difference what $8. Does the $8 matter that much to them? Was it some deranged power move?? ... like a "haha, we won't let you have your way!" Oookay, you guys win! Guess I shouldn't argue with a guy who can't cook a steak. He must know better than me.

One…read moreissue, the very good sounding chicken dish i wanted was not available, so I had to go with a shrimp on pasta as a quick 2nd choice. I found the menu was a little limited if you were not in a steak mood. So yes shrimp on pasta was the meal even though I generally dont order pasta in restaurants. Apart from no chicken there was lots of little mistakes. I ordered a gin and tonic with light gin. But it did not come with the light gin just the others. And they did not seem to know who's food was this. Which lead to problems as when they came out with the shrimp on pasta dishes, I had forgotten thats what I ordered. But we were a large group so some amount of confusion is understandable. And there was still lots of good. They had a hugh selection of gins and tonics. I love that. Had two great ones of the dozens they had on the menu. The apitizers were great. Roasted beans, flat bread with a cheese topping and a third thing that disappeared fast. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal, and we had 2 different people that had some struct dietary restrictions and they handled that well. So yes no one died thats a plus. All in all a great night

For starters, we had the crispy yam fries and the Creole crab & spinach dip. Both were very good! I wasn't a huge fan of the chips that came with the crab dip, but honestly, that's such a small thing compared to how good the dip itself was. For mains, we had the chicken fingers and the peppercorn ribeye. The chicken fingers were SO good -- perfectly cooked with amazing breading. I wasn't a fan of the honey mustard, and unfortunately they didn't offer another dipping sauce, but the chicken itself was fantastic. And the ribeye... SOOOO GOOD. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the mashed potatoes that came with it were amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The décor was great -- very modern and very 109th Street. It has that slick, upscale bar vibe that fits the area really well. The only awkward part was the hostess stand, which kind of puts you in the middle of a very active walkway while you're waiting. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, though! Huge shoutout to our server Abby, who was fantastic and made the experience even better.
