Mediocre food. Ordered an appetizer, salad and burger to share and it was all brought out at once! Really????? Medium burger was well done. No idea how this place got four stars. Too many awesome places to eat in town, don't bother with this one. read more

We walked in and were told to have a seat anywhere. We chose a two top and waited 5 minutes for someone to come over. I asked a server if she knew who was taking care of us and she said she would send her over. After 11 minutes no one came and no acknowledgement. Just take a moment to say hi. We walked out. read more

Another yummy dinner on our vacation! As an appetizer, we had the dynamite roll. VERY yummy sushi roll. For dinner, my son had a simple cheeseburger (which he gave two thumbs up), my daughter had a simple baked salmon (she didn't want the "topping" of the day) and she also gave two thumbs up. My hubby had the curry chicken. He said it was a little dry, but otherwise good. I had a cajon sirloin - I had asked for medium, and it was more medium well - my only complaint. The kids each got an ice cream sundae for dessert, and I got a chocolate cake thing - both of which were very good. If you are looking for a good place for dinner, this is a good, safe and yummy bet! read more

Good for kids? They don't accept minors on the ground floor, don't have high chairs, and don't accept strollers on the top floor.

I've been eating Earl's since the early 90's when they started with the Parrot cages at the location on St James st. across from Polo Park. The menu has changed slightly but has roughly stayed the same in the 25 years! One this evening I had a really nice chicken curry that was done very spicy and was wonderful! Nothing like washing it down with an Albino Rhino (lager) this time! Love it! Especially when I haven't been able to enjoy Earl's much living in QC. read more

My husband and I bumped into a local here in Banff while visiting and she recommended this place. I had the swordfish tacos with garlic fries that were delish! The special sauce they had in the tacos was to die for! My husband ordered the 8oz Black Angus Steak with marinated mushrooms. Needless to say, he left nothing on his plate. The cocktail menu are unique and fresh most definitely five star. read more

I'd actually say this is a 3.5, but they don't allow that option. My girls and I had gone hiking at Johnstons Canyon and wanted to spend some time in banff. We figured this was a safe place to go, simple food and something for everyone. We went the pitcher of sangria, as they're delicious and you can pick it was white wine with peaches or red wine with berries. We did the white. The girls had calamari to start, I tried picking off the batter so I could eat some, which was a pain, but still not bad. I had one of their summer salads they had on special, chicken, cheese, fruit etc. It was definitely good for a salad, little pricey though for what it was. We had got there at a good time, it got really busy after. I find the servers dress pretty provocatively, and I don't appreciate that. I'm here to eat, not look at your a$$ that is hanging out of your dress. All and all, it is a decent place to go, it's good for everyone and it's convenient. read more

Unfortunately, this place was a disappointment. From the time we were seated until the food arrived the service went from bad to worst. We had to ask another server to check on our order as our waitress disappeared for a long time. Forty minutes from when we ordered, the food arrived and it was cold, overcooked, and the fish tacos were so greasy it was not healthy to consume them. We did get a discount on our meal but it was not enough to make up the service and quality. To summarize, if you enjoy poor service and low quality food, then you are in the right place. The business is in a great location to service tourists and if they continue doing the same thing they will be going out of business soon! read more

My hubby and I were in Banff during the Labor day weekend. We were strolling around the town of Banff looking for a good restaurant that didn't break the bank. We didn't have access to Yelp, nor did we do much research before the trip, so we just trusted our instincts. I was SOOO glad we decided on this place. Super friendly service and great food. We got field greens, fried calamari, and margherita pizza. This was seriously one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted in my life!! We still talk about this pizza to this day. We'd definitely go back next time we are in Canada! read more

So I guess this place is a chain across Canada but I went to the one in downtown Banff and it was A-mazing. Much better than man of the other restaurants I went to during my Canada travels. I got the Maple chicken salad and my friend got the Spinach/Artichoke dip w/bread for dipping. Both were yum. Service was polite / well polished but pretty slow. Ambiance was really nice and the place was very clean and cute! Overall, 5 stars! read more

AMAZING food and great experience. Ended up coming here twice during my short stay in Banff because it was so great. The ribs are to die for! read more

Visited on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. Got seated in a few minutes and our server, Elisih was absolutely wonderful. She was very personable and gave us good recommendations. Food came out quickly and it was yummy and well priced. At the end of the meal our server gave us good recommendations on cool places to see in Banff. 10/10 :) read more

Ate lunch here because our go-to restaurant was closed. We're both vegan and they offer a plant based section on the menu. The food was decent. The cauliflower buffalo wings were average - we've had much better. The two entrees we had - a salad and bowl - were both good. Service was fine. A very average experience. If nothing else as open, we'd likely go back. read more

Food was very poor quality. We ordered the fish tacos and the tortillas were rock hard. The Cesar salad didn't even taste like a Cesar salad. A lot of food on the menu was not available. We were not impressed read more

An okay place to grab dinner if you're not in the mood for anything in particular. However, it's a bit on the pricier side for what you're actually getting, and a bit heavy-handed with the salt (had the Cajun Chicken dish and ended up peeling off the skin/seasoning). Also, make sure to specify how many waters you need for the table, otherwise, you'll just get a single glass of water. read more

I so wanted to love eating here having really enjoyed it when visiting Victoria. The waitress was new, her first day, however still quite good. The food not so much. If there was lower than a 1 rating I would use it. Ordered Caesars salad and soup. Mushroom soup...supposed to be cream of mushroom soup.... watery, like the base had broken, mentioned it they said that's the way it comes, ridiculous, again watery not at all thick and "creamy" added salmon to the Caesars ..dry over cooked. The salad itself the romaine was wilty, like not fresh and crisp and the Foccacio bread was hard on one side.... seriously disappointing in all. Friend ordered vegetarian Kung Pao ...noodles were barely warm. Seriously there were three couples in the restaurant how can you not be attentive to quality?....no excuse. Truly lack of oversight by management. read more

I really like the peppercorn sauce they offer with the steaks (or the peppercorn fillet that comes with it) and the olive oil bread was delicious. I deducted two starts because service every time we've been here has been VERY slow (albeit pleasant and polite). I don't know if it's the chefs or the waiters (or both) but this is certainly an area which can be improved. Furthermore, I'm a fein for French onion and they don't have it this week at all so... I would still come back here and recommend it to anyone who's not turned off by the long intervals between service (and eating) because it's reasonably priced and still pretty delicious. read more

Travelled several miles just to eat at this restaurant, very disappointed with our order, my cousin who speaks highly about this restaurant was also in dismay, Me and my hubby ordered Angus steak well done that turned out to burnt and bitter, we asked the server who was very pleasant and she said "That's how well done is". It is not worth the money and time we spent. Will never recommend or come back again. read more

Earls Kitchen + Bar - Steak and Coconut Prawns - Canadian (New) Near Me - Banff, Alberta

Earls is Earls but that's why I love it, it's always consistently good food. We had the leroys ribs and Caesar salad to start, both super nummy I love the anchovy flavour in their dressing. For our mains I had the Cajun chicken with mash and gravy and probably one of the best coleslaws ive ever had, beautiful cabbage!! Our server was pleasant and attentive all in all a very nice lunch! Glad they're serving Alberta beef again also or I wouldn't come here on principal. read more

This place is great. The food was amazing. Our waiter was so friendly and very helpful. The food was cooked to perfection. This is a great place if you are looking for top quality food. We decided on Earl's that night, because we went to a Earl's restaurant in Vancouver just 1 week before. We had the same great experience there with food that melt in your month. It looks like Earl's has the same amazing food at every location. We will absolutely go there again to try other stuff on the menu! read more

This was an okay visit - at best. The staff, that I encountered, never were that happy. They seemed like being at work was an interruption to their day. The food was okay, I ordered a 6oz steak with potatoes and fresh assorted vegetables. The food came out fairly quickly, and tasted just that: average. Nice spot if you need a quick lunch, but Banff's other restaurants would impress you more. read more

Earl's, like so many of Banff's downtown restaurants, is upSTAIRS --many of them! Caution for handicapped people like me! And Earl's stairs are STEEP! They have a nice menu. I had good halibut and chips, and the rest of our party had fetticini, and an interesting and very good prawn-quinoa salad. If it weren't for those @&?! Stairs, we'd probably return to Earls. Nice service, varied menu, but blasted stairs. read more

Food was average.... Ran out of Guinness... Not good.... Waitress was nice enough but service was terrible.... Prepared to be ignored.

Awesome Happy Hour deals on drinks and food! Spicy chicken sandwich is a personal favourite. All around great hangout spot.

Out of a 5 day trip in Banff, Earls was a four time repeat, from someone who prefers to try new places each meal. Nope, Earls had us coming back, at different times during the day! The atmosphere is relaxed upscale, and the cocktails are second to none! The Marilyn Monroe, Sriracha Pineapple Margarita, and the Coconut Mint Margarita are incredibly delicious. Select cocktails and beer are available by the pitcher. The diverse menu is only made better by the friendliest and most gorgeous staff I've ever met. Try the bacon Mac & cheese, the Baja tacos, the burgers, the salads, the clam chowder, the curry, the steaks.... do I have to go back to the states??? read more

Ate here during the Banff TV fest. Was in the mood for a hamburger and thought they'd do a good job, since it's a steakhouse. To be fair to the restaurant, I'd need to eat here more and try more things, but I would not order the hamburger again. For $13, is was an overdone patty with warm fries, not fresh. Was overall very disappointed because I had heard of Earl's in Edmonton and Calgary and thought it was a higher end chain. The bartender was great, made some nice suggestions for wine, offered a few samples first before ordering, but the food was really really disappointing. I look at burgers as one of those benchmark dishes. It's simple, but easy to do poorly, or just cheaply. I'm not comparing to McDonalds, but you know, if you're in the mood for a REAL (ground steak, or grade A beef) burger, you have certain expectations. I expect something like I'd make at home - where you start with premium ground beef, add an egg, some breadcrumbs or garlic, onions, and various spices. I now there are some places that could serve a pretty decent pref-fab patty, but at steakhouse I'd think the bar should be a bit higher. The best burger I've ever had was at the Carlyle Hotel in New York city. Was made from a ground steak, perfectly done (medium rare), hot fresh fries on the side. So, try Earl's for other things, since I haven't, but if you're craving a real, decent burger, I'd look elsewhere. Cheers, MB read more

This is a review of my vegan experience at this restaurant. Was frustrated with the lack of vegan reviews for the area on Yelp, so I'm adding mine. Note that I am ok with shared oil/kitchens. I also don't usually check if the beer is vegan. Went to Earl's at my father's request. Wasn't expecting much, but the waitress was nice and was very accommodating with my food questions. Salad and fries were the only real options on the menu. That being said, my fruity nut salad w/o the chicken (forgot the name) was very good and $12.50 as a vegan choice (instead of $17 w/ chicken). The fries were from frozen. Food came quick and the pitcher of wheat beer was reasonable and good. Did not review higher because there was only one real meal choice, but was fine for going once. read more

After a disappointing meal at Earls in Whistler, we had problem getting into a restaurant for lunch and decided to give it another go. Service was phenomenal and food was delicious. We had the same issue for dinner and couldn't get in to any restaurant so went back for dinner. Service and food was equally as great as the lunch visit. The patio seemed nice but both times it was packed (damn you beautiful weather!!). Served by two different Australian girls and both provided fast and very friendly service. My traveling companions loved it. Thanks again for a great dining experience!! read more

Most of the food here was very good. I ordered the Big Better Burger because it looked all organic and fresh, and I was right! The burger was super tasty. Good beef, and the fries were also great! What a great meal! Caesar salad was ok, but had wayyy to much dressing. It made the lettuce soggy. Clam chowder was very good! Not too creamy which was nice. Our server was very kind and got us everything we needed, even when we had special requests. Pretty good experience! read more

Popped in for lunch and the soup, salad and bread combo was wonderful. Mushroom soup with a field of mushrooms, focaccia and great salad. Service friendly and central location. Just wish we could have had space to sample the lovely looking desserts. read more

Six of us showed up on a Saturday night at 7pm and were sat immediately - despite it being so busy. Beverages were amazing. Our waitress, Phoebe, served literally the best services I've ever had! So sharp, energetic and helpful! Great options for food and dessert was yummy! Earls has a great modern chic vibe, and is the place to go to have amazing food, drinks, & dessert with your favorite company! C.C. read more

Our best dining experience was our last evening in Banff at Earls Kitchen + Bar. Our appetizers (Crispy ribs, Bacon Mac + Cheese, Chili Chicken + Wontons) were amazing! My BF and I traveled to Banff for a week and loved Earls. The Spanish gin and tonic was AMAZING!!!! We are ordering the ingredients to make our own back home. The specials were perfect portions and so affordable. $5 for tacos?! Yes please!!! I highly recommend getting your exercise in and then finishing the day here. The crowd is lively too. read more

We wandered in off the street at 630pm on a cold, wet Sunday night without a reservation, and, while looking at an attractive but only half-full restaurant, were told to expect a 15 minute wait. The couple behind us heard/saw the same thing and left, angry. But we were actually seated within 2 minutes, and had a great meal with attentive wait staff. The menu is quite varied and the food good. I had a nice medium spicy chicken curry and my companion had a great chicken quesadilla. We saw at least 8 empty tables for 6 on arrival...which remained empty for the hour we were there, but with every table for 2-4 filled. So it didn't look like the seating problem was caused by an onslaught of reservations so much as by a hostess who couldn't envision offering a couple a seat at a large table. read more

Popped in for lunch with a friend. This place is much better than the 2 previous reviews. We had a couple of burgers and fries, which was better than expected. The service was quick and attentive. Prices are higher than McDonalds, but then so is the quality. I didn't have any drinks, but it looks like they have a well stocked bar. There are a couple of big screens which adds to an upscale bar atmosphere, but not enough screens to make it a real sports bar. I would come back, and recommend it to my friends. read more

We stopped in Earl's after an entire day of traveling from the East Coast, starving and exhausted. The lounge downstairs had no wait during the dinner rush.
