I love Earls for their sandwiches and drinks mainly. Every donut i've ever head from them tasted old, although last time I got the donut holes were pretty solid. They make some mean breakfast croissant sandwiches, with delicious melty cheese, bacon, hot & fluffy egg, and they can add jalapeño if you choose. (Highly recommend for an extra kick) You could get a sandwich and a drink (boba, lattes, ice blended drinks) for $10 - not bad! Been a customer for years to grab a quick bite on my way to work. Yes you can get your lottery fix at Earls' donuts. Now, the donuts were good. Not great. Not mouth watering. Just good. They were a bit doughy for my taste. Meaning they were think and chewy. That may be great for some, not me. Taste was real good, if not a too sweet. Oh yeah, I got the cinnamon sprinkled confection. I got my daughter the chocolate sprinkled. She found it to be alright. It had all the right hallmarks for a thick, fluffy glazed traditional doughnut. Internal doughnut wasn't greasy, nor fired out. It has the perfect balance for what a doughnut should be! The person at the counter is very sweet and nice. The interior is clean and pleasant. Donut shops are some of the happiest places on earth. A good quality donut does not smell of burnt oil, oil that has been used multiple times. The donuts I tried all looked beautiful, but they tasted and smelled like burnt oil which is why I give this place 3 stars. I walk in thinking I'll get one w coffee and end up walking out with half dozen. I try to minimize the sugar ( I know that's ridiculous) . Maaannn it's Ben years since I have been here. This most recent visit did not disappoint at all. My son is infatuated with maple bars so we stopped here on our way home. The young man is a very picky eater but soon as he took a bit he was hooked! We ordered two but he was only able to eat about 75% of the first one before passing out on the long ride back home. I have been to many other donut shops where their donuts seem to have been sitting there all day. Yuck! Not here. Wow, I've stopped by a few times, but as of yesterday, I noticed something changed! Each donut was a delightful experience, with perfectly balanced flavors--not too sweet, not too bland, and not syrupy and was still fresh and delicious the next day! Grabbed: - Strawberry Red Velvet Mochi - Chocolate Custard donut: whoever made this fresh one deserves to keep making them forever! - Raspberry Filled had a tasty new filling - (Not sure what it's called) Coffee Cake donut was everything you'd want--soft, moist, and with a lovely crumbly topping that added a satisfying crunch. I just went to Earl's donuts and not only were they so hospitable and the girls were so nice and sweet but the place is so big has so much variety and choices to choose from. They're open from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. which is amazing and I honestly have to say that this is my new donut place from this day on. read more

I have been coming here since 1986 and it never disappoints! My husband and I have tried other donut places to compare but Earls wins hands down! Earls is a landmark place in the valley and is run by the same family. Always a good sign! Their donuts are made fresh- very tasty and easy to freeze! You just take one out when you need it place in a Ziploc for a half hour and it's ready. Their chocolate custard's are amazing and I really enjoy their glazed buttermilk doughnut. They have a lot of unusual donuts to choose from like the crestnut which is a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. I'm not into it but a lot of people order them. I've never tried their sandwiches but they look really good. We especially like the fritters and I would show you a picture but we already ate that one. read more

Her customer service is wonderful and she is so sweet. She even recognizes me when I come in. One of the biggest reasons I love Earl's is because their iced coffee. This place gets busy ... they have great doughnuts. A lot of people go and hangout to play scratchers . I love that they have fresh fruit juices , like the ones they serve at robeks . This is to amend my previous review of Earl's from 7 years ago. Since then the store has changed hands. The donuts are okay, but the service is poor. The donuts have also doubled in price. While the previous owners were not part of Earl's family, they were welcoming and kind. They also had a variety of donuts to choose from. Today one of the cases was completely empty and there were no cake or buttermilk donuts. Plus, check out the photo for how she packed them. We asked for a dozen and she did not tell us that 2 of our picks did not qualify for the dozen until after she rang us up. It was just disappointing. I can get fairly good donuts anywhere. When this shop goes up for sale again, which I can only imagine is sooner rather than later, I might have to pony up and give it a try myself. read more

I've visited Earls Donuts in Chatsworth multiple times, around 5 am every single morning around 1 year and sometimes in the afternoon. One of those visits, unfortunately, I've consistently encountered rude service from the afternoon staff, particularly the lady and Steven. On my most recent visit, they expressed an indifferent attitude, even suggesting that I shouldn't return if I wasn't satisfied with their service. This was the third time I've experienced such treatment, and it's incredibly disappointing. The lack of professionalism and customer care made for a truly unpleasant experience. Wow. I didn't have high hopes for this place given the density of donut shops in LA, but I can see why people come here specifically. The sweetness balance is nicely done, but the most characteristic quality of their donuts is how airy and almost light it is. Maybe it's because of how fresh it is? We went there at 3PM and they were saying that another batch would be available at 6PM - unfortunately, we couldn't get the ube cake donut. We got a chocolate twist, apple fritter, cresnut, maple crueller, and donut holes. Of them, the apple fritter was the standout for me - crunchy, with small bite-sized apple pieces. Even my mom who hates fruit in her pastries couldn't resist eating this. I really enjoyed the chocolate twist as well - basic, but just so nicely done. Donut holes were fine too.
