Best donut shop around! I'm not even kidding. I grew up a block away and have been coming here since I was a kid. My mom and I always come here on the morning to get the most delicious and fresh donuts you've ever tasted. This is coming from someone who doesn't like sweets, let alone donuts. Their drinks are delicious and the workers are always so fast and helpful. The inside is so cute, main colors being the classic pink donut box. Quick, neighborhood after dinner spot! Surprisingly, though I love donuts, I had green tea boba instead. The sizes are all HUGE so you get a lot of bang for your buck! It smells really good in here! Tasty donuts, all kinds of coffee drinks, sandwiches. And they open at 4 a.m.! I'm an early riser, so I may stop by for some eggs between bread one day. They have all kinds of other things you might not have thought you wanted: gum, energy drinks, cup-o-noodles, chips, and cookies. They even have ice cream, and I mean in the cabinet freezer with several of the big tubs just like Baskin Robbins. The woman who served us didn't talk much, but she wasn't rude or anything. After leaving a meeting in Tarzana on Wednesday evening, we were searching for something sweet at a place open past 9, and not in the mood for ice cream or frozen yogurt. Yelp led us to Jolly Donuts as an option in Topanga. There was plenty of parking available, always a good thing. The shop was brightly lit and colorful, and looked clean. Good start. Upon entering, the bright menu boards and signs presented a myriad of choices for sweets and beverages. Looking further, the display cases were filled with a dwindling amount of donuts and other pastries. I picked a chocolate old fashioned donut, and Dear Hubby chose a cinnamon roll. We waited for an employee to come from the back and assist. She seemed unhappy to be at work. So sad! The grand total was very reasonable, but it turned out to be because the goodies were not fresh. We sat outside at a little bistro table, ready to enjoy our sweet treats, but soon found them to be heavy-textured and on the stale side. This is second time I'm going to this shop and both time I have noticed all workers in there don't have desposib glove in order to make food . I mean when they at the register toch all the mony from customer and then they go at the kitchen and make the bagle and chease or somthing else . This is a nice little donut shop on a rather rough corner. I have been buying their various flavored cream cheese croissants for years. The plain cheese one is the best. Along with donuts, they serve ice cream, smoothies, boba, hot and cold coffees, cold-cut sandwiches, some nice breakfast bagels and croissants and a bunch of other things I probably didn't notice.
