It was okay; I was in the area and wanted coffee and a donut. The donut I ended up with was cold and not very appealing. Their coffee was decent, and they had all the fixings which was great (flavored creamers, half and half, different types of milk). The actual place is very small but homey. I got lucky with finding street parking. I'm honestly not sure that I would be back, but the service was good and I got a freebie doughnut hole with my order :) read more

I have been coming here for about 10 years. Donuts are good, the family that works here is professional and respectful. They always give the kids a little donut hole on a toothpick just because. The staff always happy and full of energy. The one time I received a hard donut was the last time and we've been there dozens of times throughout the year. The ambiance is super casual. Another donut shop I have driven by a million times and never had a reason to stop in. I was at an auto body shop down the street and was in desperate need of coffee. I saw Fosters sign and bingo! The perfect place to grab a drip coffee. I always find it kind of fun to explore mom and pop donut shops. I had such an amazing experience at Fosters. The service here was 100/10. The young man who helped us explain that his family had run the donut shop since he was two and they have a tradition of giving kids donut holes on sticks. You bet my son got one! It was so sweet! He even offered extra napkins knowing how messy little ones can be. He couldn't have been more sweet. We got an old fashioned donut that was delightful and a scratcher! They have scratchers galore here. Not a winner, but I did feel like a winner after receiving such kind service from the folks at Fosters. read more

Had my brother go pick up donuts, mine was the apple fritter. One word: raw. I ate the outer rim where it was crispy and it was well seasoned lots and lots of cinnamon. So much cinnamon that I thought the dough was wheat. And that middle section? The middle was raw and gross! I'm not a fan of uncooked doughs at all. I'm not sure how you fix what you did. But I can't waste money on products that don't work for me. These days I'm noticing that people are getting away with taking your money and delivering garbage or bad service. Sorry but that donut was half good, half bad and unacceptable. Am I going to get sick for eating that raw dough? There's no rebaking this out refrying it or anything it's wasted money and it sucks for the financial loss. You need to make sure your products are acceptable. Please try your own donuts to make sure your delivering top notch apple fritters. That's all I got on raw dough. read more

Super cheap and very tasty but CASH ONLY! They are open from 5am - 10pm and owned by a hard-working family. This is a popular local LOTTO stop! Three doughnuts (buttermilk glazed bar, raspberry jelly filled and chocolate with custard filling) for $3.65!!!? Surprise! And...the jelly-filled comes in either STRAWBERRY or Raspberry! There's a small shared parking lot that always has spaces in the early morning prior to the other businesses opening. There is also street parking. I haven't tried their coffee yet, but I plan to. There are also lots of refrigerated drink choices too. read more

2015 Challenge 008/100. Small little location.This location has had several winners with Super lotto.Its 221 million tonight. I bought a dozen of donuts,the Donuts are a lot bigger than other big chains stores.Its always to purchase your donuts early in the morning.Unless they make their donuts through out the day. Was really hungry. I don't live in the neighbor hood. So, I googled the nearest donut shop. Was greated by a nice lady. Ordered a bear claw. Asked for it to be warmed. It cost 1.85. I bit into it in the car. It was the most greasy thing I've tasted. I went back in and told her. She seemed a tad bit irritated. She was nice enough of to give me my money back. I love a good donut. The problem in the valley is almost all of the usual spots close around six pm. So it was about 9:30 one night, and I get a hankering for an eclair. It doesn't take me long to convince my girl that we want donuts! The search began with the quick yelp check in my area, and nothing was opened within walking distances. We continued our search outside the usual one mile. Foster's came up. We jumped in the car, and were going to gamble a little. We get to the little shop in no time, and find adequate parking available in the lot. The apparently father and son team running the place were friendly, and greeted us with a smile. As we looked over the options, the father asks if we were looking for anything in particular. I let him know that we are looking for an eclair. He says I can fill any donut on the first shelf with Bavarian cream. We got 4. We've been back since. :) read more

This is the spot if you want to get your lottery and donut fix done all at once. There are many locals who buy lottery tickets and donuts and chill here. The woman that helped us was so nice. We wanted maple bars with custard, but there weren't any. We told her it was okay since we didn't want to be a burden and make other customer wait, but she said it okay and went out of her way to do it. The service here is great! read more

Stopped in while in the area to buy my son a couple donuts and a Mega lotto ticket. After reading all the reviews on both, I had to give this place a try. Big selection of donuts, and the most amazing selection of lotto scratchers I've ever seen! This place must be a winner! The donuts were winning, per my son they were VERY good. And this is coming from the donut connoissuer! Lotto ticket wasnt a winner tho : ( . The Lady behind the counter was super friendly, positive attitude and vibes...great person. They have donuts. They have lotto tickets. They have scratch cards. The donuts are good and the folks behind the counter are nice. They gave me an extra donut for tipping them, which is a vicious yet delicious cycle. The maple old-fashioned had notes of butterscotch and the cake was crispy like it should be. read more

While I was washing next door, I walked into this hole in the wall donut shop. I went in about closing time looking for a late night snack. There really isn't anything special about the place, it pretty worn down but clean. The outside was kinda but I figured it was the wind that was blowing the trash all over the place. Overall the items are fairly priced, sad to say I decided not to try one of their donuts. It was close to closing time and I'm sure the donuts had been sitting their for a while. The gentleman that helped was pretty cool, he didn't say much but seemed happy. I think I'll be back in the morning, I'm sure the donuts will be freshly made By that time. read more

I came here at 8pm at night for their glazed donuts, and surprisingly the donuts were still great. I dunno when they were cooked but they were still really good. Only thing is that the glazed donuts were pricier than most in the area. 1.35 per glazed. It was good though, so i guess it was worth it read more

My first impression was, "Typical of a street-side donut shop on an early morning: crowded, busy, and the smell of hot, fresh, donuts!" You know those hole in the wall donut shops with the simple sign "DONUTS," and nothing else? Sort of run down on the outside, worn down on the inside, and usually you'll pass by it a billion times on the street without ever walking in? This morning, I took a pass on the chains Winchell's, Granny's Donuts (although I am a fan), and Dunkin' Donuts for something nearby. I nearly passed by this with all the packed businesses in the in the cramped plazas of Northridge, but I'm glad I walked in. The man (and a young boy which I believe was his son) were serving up these donuts and they were very quick and friendly despite the busy morning crowd. The coffee and donuts were hot and fresh, and there was no extra grease like there is at a lot of donut places. They serve with a smile, and it's definitely a family owned and family run, local donut shop that's popular with nearby residents. The lasting impression? "I'll be back for the dozen!" read more

Found this place due to the Yelpsters and wanted donuts so stopped here to check it out. The essentials: the parking lot is small and a bit tight and the donut shop is in a dimly lit mini mall. There are a few tables inside. Didn't look like much and the aesthetics aren't impressive but don't let that fool you. The man behind the counter was super nice, friendly and efficient - there's a lot to be said for that as I kept adding donuts to my initial order!!! Lol. We got some glazed, chocolate cake and sugar twist donuts. They were fresh and tasty!!! If I were in the area, I'd stop by...you should too!!! It's a donut shop, not rocket science! So I was on my way to the freeway, and I was looking for a good donut place. I stumbled upon Foster's Donuts. As I walked into the establishment, there were no people. There was only one person, my lady, who works there. I looked at the selection, but there was really not much to choose from. There were the regular chocolate twist donut, the Sugar Twist donut, the chocolate on chocolate with peanuts on top, and... You get the gist. So I purchased two chocolate twist Donuts and when I got into the car, the donut was so stale. Like it sat on the shelf for a day. They have so many different donuts, croissants, sandwiches, hot and cold coffee, espresso, latte, bottled drinks and more.. They have an indoor and outdoor seating and the place is super cute and very clean, chill and you get what you pay for. I got a dozen donuts from them and tried one on my way home and it was just decadent, fresh, fluffy and the frosting isn't overly sweet. Has parking and a restroom for their customers! Will definitely return next time I am in the Encino area. Established back in 1960 & Winnie/the owner of the place took over ownership in February of 2023. The coffee also wasn't our favorite on this visit, so overall the food and drinks didn't fully stand out to us this time. That said, the space is truly beautiful and creates such a calm, inviting atmosphere to sit and relax. The service was especially warm, kind, and attentive, which we genuinely appreciated and made the experience feel welcoming. There was a line to the door today when I arrived and I was at the front in a matter of minutes, thank you. This is a small local donut shop, popular among the community. Donuts here are tasty, they have a variety from old fashioned, cake style, jelly filled l, twists, glazed, Apple fritters and more. We also purchased a donut in store, and it was significantly less dry, similar to a store packaged entenmanns donut. The variety of donuts, was actually decent, and included a filled donut, an apple fritter, bear claw, both yeasted and cake donuts. I always find it funny when I get a donut surprise bag and there's at least three donuts with coconut sprinkles on them. PICK UP EXPERIENCE/SERVICE We had to shout to get the attention of the person in the back. She quickly handed us the box and walked away. She never asked if we want to purchase anything else. We did. So we had to shout, once again, to bring her back to sell us a cake donut with sprinkles ($1.45!) The plaza had parking, so it was at least to do the pick up. GENERAL OBSERVATION. No one wants the coconut sprinkle donuts. They always look dry and sad. Stop putting coconut sprinkles on donuts. Seriously. Unless there's pineapple in the donut, then just stop it. No one buys these donuts, and yet you keep making them.

The interior decor is a bit outdated, and it's a bit cramped. I cannot for the life of me fathom what would cause it, but there is a distinct odor from the place itself. Also, the unfortunate location of the place which is near a 7-Eleven and near a major crossing street, just made the experience a bit unnerving. You see homeless folks (or unhoused, if you want to be politically correct) lounging around, and you're left to wonder when the next riot or zombie outbreak will happen. Otherwise, the food is great, it felt like home and pretty delicious. It was packed with flavor, albeit the price is a bit steep. I have no other issue with the place, I think it deserves its fair share.
