A friend recommended this place, so when a box popped up on *Too Good To Go*, we decided to give it a shot. We arrived about an hour into the pickup window and were greeted as soon as we walked in. After confirming the order through the app, they filled a box for us straight from the display case. The doughnuts were fresh and tasty--maybe not the best in the valley, but definitely good. Looking through the "Too good to go" app today, saw Fostar's and started craving donuts. Never had been here before. Placed my pick up order and off I went. When I got there, the girl behind the counter greeted me right away, I told her I had a "Too good to go" order and she grabbed a pink box and packed a mix of donuts into it. Super fast, nice service with a smile. The shop is a typical small donut shop, front counter with a nice display of donuts. They have a bunch of funny signs posted around though, which makstand out. They also serve breakfast sandwiches, croissants and lunch selections. They open at 4:30AM and close at 2:00PM. The donuts themselves are very tasty, sweet, flaky and airy. They tasted fresh although I was getting them closer to when they were closing, very good. I mentioned "Too good to go" which is an app that helps prevent food from going to waste. You look on their app and can find really great deals rather than businesses throwing out food and wasting it. They participate in the program, which is a great way to save food from being wasted and a chance for businesses to still sell items vs them going in the trash. Win win for all. That said, I got a great deal at $6.99 for 10 donuts, but I will say that it says on the app that the value of your mystery bag would be $21, I don't think 10 donuts would cost or be worth $21, but either way, as I said a great deal, thank you. Got a dozen+ and let them choose the variety. Each one was better than the next, super-fresh (made daily, I learned from the terrific staff member who helped me) and a bit larger than other doughnut shops in the L.A. area. One glazed thing with apples in it -- I'm not even sure what it was called -- was the size of a small Frisbee! Seriously, you could slice it into 4 doughnut-sized pieces. While I waited for my order, I chatted with another customer, having his lunch. He said he goes there a lot and usually gets a burrito, which is great. The menu is large for such a small place, the prices are good, the staff is great, they have *some* parking in a small shared lot but the street parking is close by. As a NYC-transplant, I was excited to see a place that reminded of where I used to grab my lunch in Manhattan, so if you're looking for that sort of thing, I can give an extra recommendation. It's not a chic, splashy place -- it' s neighborhood place & therein is a big part of its charm. I intend to go back and get a sandwich with my doughnuts next time. Highly recommended. read more

The couple working was very friendly and helpful and stuck with me as I tried to figure out just what I was going to buy. But, here was a problem: the selection was a bit small. I'm not sure if I just happened to get there when some of the varieties were ready, or if I had just gotten there after they had sold out, but I felt like the selection did leave something to desire. But the doughnuts were tasty and priced great. No complaints there. I could definitely see myself stopping by for a quick breakfast doughnut on my way to work here. So I waited awhile since the new owners took over to see what would happen and unfortunately had to take away a star. they seem more interested in changing the format to a sandwich shop than maintaining the former quality and selection of the doughnuts sold here. Some of the items I used to get are gone (certain types of old fashions and crullers) and other favorites that are still here (bearpaws, fritters) are smaller and dryer than that of the previous owners. The chocolate icing tastes different , cheaper, less chocolatey. the good news is they still have the large chocolate chip glazed twists! Suggestion to owners - increase selection , don't overcook doughnuts don't skimp. read more

I've been comin here ever since I was a kid. I always enjoyed the chocolate donut with chocolate sprinkles and the regular glazed donut. Now that this place is under new management, I have not been able to buy the chocolate donut with chocolate sprinkles anymore since it's never there.
