"Cretzel" - Pretzel Croissant Almond Croissant

Today was my first time at Breadologie... I brought my family along with me for the trip. As it was our first time, to our surprise it caught our attention being located on the corner of a small shopping center with yellow paint and a green sign When we walked in, we saw the shop full, but the line was moving quickly which was awesome because I brought my family here on an empty stomach lol. The kind young lady who took our order was so kind and patient to answer our questions. Below we ordered a few croissants and a coffee... the pistachio, almond, and pretzel croissant were all so soft, delicious, and had somewhat of a crunch to them too. I also ordered a Horchata Latte which was perfectly cinnamon-y with a creamy coffee flavor. The croissants were literally perfect and fresh. My family and I were very happy with the what we ordered Breadologie, I will be back to try more items. Thanks for a great first experience

I've sworn off sweets for a bit, but that doesn't keep me from coming in to buy goodies for friends and relish in the smell of fresh baked treats, so I popped into Breadologie when I needed a gift this week. So much selection, I don't know how people decide on ONE ITEM! Luckily for me, I was in search of blueberries as a "something blue" for newly wed friends. Two blueberry danish left and I snagged 'em! Service is efficient and friendly and the location is small but always neat and tidy. Bring cash if you'd like tisane a few pennies. Cheers! "CC"

It is wonderful to have a mom and pop local bakery, that is accessible, for quick in and out purchases. A prominent business in this regard is, Breadologie, in Granada Hills. On their open days, their hours are 7 am to 2 pm, if you are in the mood for French and other breakfast fare. I have to say also that, if you are looking for small quiches (which are more than substantial for one person), they have the best selection anywhere, in this or adjoining vicinities. My favorite has always been, the bacon quiche and that is what I picked up to go this time too (they have several other choices). This preparation of theirs, has the right balance of ingredients, eggs and milk, and the crust, to harmonize in the oven to culminate in the eye catching finished product. The top is optimally browned to give you the taste that your eyes desire. Most of all, it is not dry inside. Instead, moist, fluffy and silky to the tongue, during the eating process. Also selected a chocolate croissant to add to my bag. There a variety of other types of breads, croissants, danishes, eclairs and other baked goods that are also available here. The selections here though limited, are different in scope, variety and presentation, that you will not find at another morning bakery. Service here is always friendly, polite, informative and accommodating, to stimulate your desire to come back again.

I'm a bit disappointed in what Breadologie has become. While waiting, I was speaking to another customer who said the place is under new ownership from earlier this year and we both hoped the food didn't change. Sadly it seems like it did. The Vietnamese coffee was nowhere near a "Vietnamese coffee". This was just a coffee with cream. No strong coffee or sweet flavors, it wasn't even sweet to begin with. For pastries I tried the Onion bacon cheese and plain Croissant. Both were just okay. The onion bacon cheese wasn't very cheesy and didn't have enough bacon to really get a good flavor in each bite. Overall it was pretty empty. The plain croissant was oaky, a tad dry and overbaked, and definitely not enough butter .

I've had the croissants from here a few times before and they've always been SO delicious. I don't go often because they're decadent but when I go they're a real treat. So I was so disappointed today to get some croissants that were very old and past their prime. The croissants were so dry and hard, they were almost inedible. If I was going to go straight home, I may have tried to warn them to see if they would soften some. But we had to just eat them as is. It's such a bummer because these are some of the best croissants that I've had before. Mind you we came at 1:00. They didn't not taste like they were just old from the morning, but that they were at least a day old. Hey I get it. I wouldn't want those to go to waste. But if you know your product isn't fresh, maybe sell it at a discount. This will not stop be from going back. But I will definitely ask before I purchase them to make sure that they're fresh.

We stopped by this cozy spot and enjoyed sitting at the outdoor chairs. The food was mostly a win, but one drink was a miss for us. We ordered the Spinach Pita and the Chocolate Croissant, both were really good! My husband had the Bacon Quiche and loved it, especially noting the big, hearty chunks of bacon. For drinks, we tried the Macadamia Chocolate Latte and the Dry Chai. Unfortunately, the Macadamia Chocolate Latte was overwhelmingly chocolaty for my taste, so much so that I had to swap with my husband. His Dry Chai was much more to my liking. It's a nice little place with some standout food items, but the drink balance was just a bit off for us this time.

I found out about this bakery from a local coffee shop who use to sell their creme brûlée donuts. The coffee shop has since closed down but i made sure to ask about the donuts and was directed to this bakery. Great and Fast service here. However it does get quite busy. Most of the items Ive tried were delicious. Those donuts though, best donut ive ever tried!

All of the pastries I've tried here are amazing! The staff members are always very friendly and happy to go above and beyond to help. The ambiance is nice too.

Definitely not the same since ownership changed. The chocolate croissant tasted a day old. It was not the usually flaky and delicious treat I used to get. I haven't tried everything, but the only thing that tastes the same as before is the donuts.

Ask the Community - Breadologie Bakery

When will you offer sandwiches again?

Do you offer any gluten free options?

I don't believe they do, I recall seeing a sign that says all our bread has gluten and maybe exposed to nuts.

What are the business hours here?

7 am to 12 pm daily. Closed Mon and Tues.

    Any gluten green options?

I have asked the owners and there are not gluten free baked goods. I think their bakery setup cannot guarantee no cross-contamination of wheat flour with gluten free-free flours, and it doesn't take much to cause a reaction in a person who is…

Is the eggywich available to order for pick up? I did not see it on the menu..

They are not offering sandwiches during Covid-19 as far as I know. This is what the sign says on the outside of their business.

Cash accepted? Or only debit/credit card?

They accept cash as well as credit cards.

Are your breads vegan (dairy and egg free)?

from their website: 'Our Baguette, Bread Loaves - White, Wheat, Multi, & Sourdough are all VEGAN. We also have a few VEGAN items such as our cinnamon sugar donut, strawberry tart, and apple tart'

I drove by today, twice, and didn't see this place. Is the store hidden?

It's in a small shopping center on the northwest corner of Encino and Chatsworth. They close early though, I think when they run out of product. Fresh for the day only!

Hi. Will u guys ever start offering espresso drinks? I hate coffee, but would love a latte. This is the only reason I don't come often. I don't have time in the morning to stop at 2 diff places.

Anything non-dairy (no milk, butter or cream)?

Hello! Yes, our whole wheat, whole wheat multigrain, sourdough, & French baguettes are non dairy breads. All our pastries have butter or milk.

I love this little local mom & pop?

    Yes it is.

Lots of pastries to choose from, cakes in the fridge to pick from or grab and go section with some lunch items. Plenty of items to still grab from around 11am. A cinnamon twist donut and a s'mores croissant, is what my mom grabbed from the selection. She mentioned the pastries tasted light and airy (not heavy or a thick donut texture). Also grabbed a s'mores frappe; blended with hot chocolate. The cashier we had wasn't very friendly, kinda felt a little rushed. The drinks also took awhile to come out, but they did taste great. There was a young man at the counter who welcomed us with a wonderful smile. He said his name is Said (pronounced Sa-eed) and asked if it was our first time here. We said it was, so he offered to give us some samples of their most popular bake goods. He said it is made of light custard and it's called soft cake and it is traditional pastry from his country in Uzbekistan that his mother bakes all from scratch. In Asia we also don't like overly sweet cakes so we thought it sounded to fit our taste preferences. And we loved it after trying! My mom said it tastes very similar to the cake she had back in Seoul in her childhood she misses fondly, but she could never have that same taste. Just a little sweeter. But the custard and texture of the cake is just the same. We also got the eclair. And it was pretty good too. But definitely recommend the soft cake!! Sooo yummyyy!! I also got the strawberry cold foam matcha latte and my mom got a small americano coffee. She said it's the best coffee she had in a cafe. Of course superb compared to Starbucks or any other coffee franchise. She says American coffee shops always burn their beans so it tastes burnt, but this place roasted the beans just right. And we also loved the strawberry cold foam matcha. I don't know how, but it tasted like really strawberry was in the drink!! My mom said it's the best strawberry milk she ever had here and in Korea! And she wants to order again when we come by next time. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Food and drinks were all prepared with such care, but given at a reasonable time. Some of these cafes take forever to make your drinks, even Starbucks makes you wait 20 minutes! These other coffee shops make it seem like they're doing some complex chemistry experiment how long it takes for just a drink! But this young guy he makes the drink in under 5 min and it tastes 10x better anything those other coffee shops make, but in less than half the time! I really thought maybe it was really hard making drinks, but this young dude makes it look like a walk in the park, the speed and ease he cranks out the drinks. I think Uzbekistan people must be just built different! and he was also so kind and pleasant taking the time to explain and answer all our questions. Some of these other places wouldn't even bother or make it feel like you're pulling a nail from them the way they grimace. He was so nice we wanted to give a tip, but he even said he didn't want us to. He'd happily accept just our enjoying the food and drinks and would appreciate if we left a review for his cafe. just had to leave a review. Especially after how nice he is. And hearing his story and how it's a family run bakery with the mom baking and son making drinks and running front counter. And an authentic European bakery!! Wow! Aren't we so glad they moved into our neighborhood! A Real quality cafe I didn't even know what I was missing until I stepped into this little shop by mere chance! I Will definitely come by again. And anyone else who discovers this little gem would be so lucky and blessed as us!
