I bring up that brake issue because it eventually became a pattern of dropping the ball, and repeated issues 1. My car had to be towed because basic logic well known issue for GMC/Chevy 6.2 liter V8 engines have a lifter issue which requires engine replacement. The car wasn't in bad shape as you say. Cadillac dealership said I should have it towed due to the knocking sound. My car has always been kept immaculate. Yes you quoted a fair price, it was Lambs in Lakeway that was ridiculous and most people know they are. The engine took long because they sent the wrong engine and in regards to my finances it wasn't I couldn't pay . I was at the mercy of you and I was nothing but polite every single interaction with you. Your dropped the ball so many times and you actually asked me for advance payment at one point because you needed to pay your taxes . I didn't want to pay you UPFRONT Frank. You fix then pay, that's most every way it's done . You didn't have the money to cover costs which is a concern regarding running a business. I had also just spent money on another car repair and boat repairs . The car sat as I decided what I wanted to do. As far as stating you could have charged me storage you never once mentioned that and I have every phone call that proves that. Pretty shady of you to pull that out on your reply here. Again not on single time did you ever mention storage fees. So please don't act as if it was some favor you did. The car went in for an engine replacement. As you confirmed the day you put the engine in to test drive you call me telling me I need steering column replacement. Yes I have you on recording Frank stating that indeed the lift and big tires were the culprit. The steering was completely fine and it had not been driven once per you as we waited for the engine issue and replacement to be resolved. You now understand why I recorded you. You can't remember what you told me. I didn't struggle to pay you. I had a boat in repair and another car a Range Rover in repair. I communicated to you very professionally. By the way let's remember you had me pay up front on everything. It was the engine that was ordered that was delayed. 2. Regarding the transmission line. Let the public see this post. I pick up my car from Frank and I make it about a quarter to half a mile or so down road and what becomes the problem is the transmission line. Frank I have that call to you recorded as well and your claim that I accelerated or false and blew the line is total BS. It had nothing to do with big tires. I'm saving all my facts, statements from GM certified techs , and video of your guy coming over to "fix" it. Within a day or 2 it went out again and I made you tow it for free. It was your guy that you sent and had him do what he did and sent me on my way and that all was fine only to have it sent back to you. By the way on our recorded call you tried to lead me to believe with certainty it was one thing when in fact you were wrong and called me with another reason. Again grateful I recorded both those conversations. The reputable mechanics I discussed were my brothers out of Houston. My brother owns a professional garage and luxury and collector car biz for 22 years. The other reputable people was a connection I had out of A Cadillac dealer in Dallas. I mentioned this to you and so logically my car stayed locally with you. 3. The whole issue about you spending 200 for the detail I will just say to anyone reading this look at the pics of my Escalade left in his care. Never should have happened Frank. By the way I took a time stamp video of my car before it went back to you. I didn't spill the oil. That's a regular engine oil. Why would I need engine oil to leave in my backseat after you just repaired and did an engine replacement. Again shady of you to blame that on me. And by the way I had to waste 3 hours of my work day sitting there waiting on a detail. Completely unprofessional. 4. I asked you you fix my windshield wiper motor while you had it. You never did. I kept asking you very time you had the car and I have your texts alone that show you forgot several times. same thing Frank regarding the transmission thermostat. I asked you several times, you came out to fix my running board and forgot to get the transmission thermostat and windshield motor. Again pretty crazy you fixed my transmission yet our texts show you dropping the ball on the thermostat. I have lost count on the amount of texts I have that show you never show up on time. I'm done with my response. I'll update this post after claims court.

However Dave's wasted no time telling me all the engine codes the truck was throwing were from an aftermarket catalytic converter, which could easily have caused chronic problems. There were a number of other issues too on a truck that was advertised as ready to go, so hard pass on that one. As I waited in the office I noted each client was treated very well. Even the old Papaw that came in a little confused as to why his truck had a warning light on, was gracefully told that he just needed an oil change which they quickly worked in. Very pleased with the service and results here....the truck I wanted needed another 5-6k in work in the near future, I would have been in a real bind if I had bought it. That small inspection fee saved me making a major and expensive mistake!

Their front door says it all with their triple B business rating and ASE certified mechanics. They also do a multi point inspection to make sure everything else is functioning. One thing that was pointed out, which I already knew about, was the fact that I had a torn CV boot that needed to be replaced. Since the CV joint had lost all the grease, it was also best to replace the whole axle which doesn't add that much to the price since most of this is labor. As a result, I made an appt and came back a few days after the oil change and had that repaired. I was pleased to see on the invoice that I am a gold VIP member which means I received an additional discount. I also appreciate the 36 month/36,000 mile warranty which dealerships often do not have. Buddha's Garage is the second one. Dave has the energy of a man who has looked directly into the screaming mechanical abyss of humanity and simply sighed, grabbed a wrench, and fixed it anyway. I swear half the vehicles in that shop arrive after being spiritually wounded somewhere else. Other mechanics will look at your engine like medieval doctors diagnosing ghosts. Dave looks at it once, tilts his head slightly like a jazz musician hearing a wrong note, and suddenly knows your alternator was installed backwards by somebody named Tyler in 2019. And here's the wild part: he's honest. Like deeply, suspiciously honest. The kind of honest that makes you uncomfortable because you forgot businesses could still operate without trying to sell you seventeen imaginary emergencies. Dave will straight up tell you cheaper alternatives, better options, things you can wait on, things you DON'T need. I almost wanted to ask him if he understood capitalism. The customer service feels less like a business and more like your truck wandered into a monastery where everyone took vows of kindness and diagnostic accuracy. Meanwhile other shops are out here playing roulette with socket sets: "Hmmm yes, perhaps your issue is... all of the parts." Then Buddha's Garage fixes it in an afternoon and somehow charges you like they still believe in human dignity. Also -- Dave knows an absolutely terrifying amount about vehicles. Not "guy who watches YouTube tutorials" knowledge. I mean ancient-library-hidden-under-the-desert knowledge. The kind where you start explaining the noise your car makes and he already knows the answer before you finish making the sound effect. At this point I'd trust Buddha's Garage with anything mechanical. My car. My lawn mower. A damaged submarine. If NASA called and said a shuttle was making a weird clicking noise, I'd probably hand them Dave's number. I'm going there no matter what. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler which is getting increasingly difficult to find proper parts for, even from the dealerships. Recently my jeep had a e-brake issue. Mark hunted everywhere (from the mouth of an associate of his, not himself) for days. When he found "the" part on-line, it was ordered and received only NOT to be "the" part at all. During my time-without-car, I used a loaner from CB..."take it on the toll roads, wherever you need to go. Call us if you have any problems." Then came an "ah-ha" moment, someone at the shop came up with an out-of-the-box solution. It required an additional part, but, the very next day, my dear Jeep was ready to go, back on the road and as good as new. Probably better. They apologized repeatedly for taking such a long time with the repair and thanked me for my patience. Meanwhile I was driving around in their car. They are now going back to a 1 star review due to a $3200 fix back in August where they held my car from Monday morning through Friday afternoon to fix an oil leak that's still leaking (the pic is below) It's also still making that groaning/whining noise when I accelerate after numerous attempts at fixing it. Absolutely unacceptable-all that money I paid them-all for nothing. They also did not honor a 10% coupon that I received via email after I showed them (maybe there was a misunderstanding on my part-not sure) The car was in the shop all week back in August and the problems did not get fixed. I thought about taking it in for a degrease, but cancelled since I'm not confident they will give me an honest answer, nor am I confident they will honor their 3 year/36k warranty, because they want more money. Either this was a misdiagnosis, or the technician that worked on my vehicle is grossly imcompetent and needs to be fired immediately. I will not tolerate this level of imcompetence or blatant dishonesty from a faith-based auto shop. It is evident and obvious that the fear of the Lord is clearly not instilled in them, as we will all give an account to Him one day (and you all WILL be held accountable for this) Looks like they need to call themselves "Lovers of Money" Automotive after all. You can keep my money, and I hope you all are really happy with yourselves knowing you overcharge on prices, engage in dishonest business practices and hold cars as long as you do, and not fix the problems. I trusted you all, and clearly that trust has been sorely misplaced through your free shuttle rides and courteous staff.
