I would like to share my God sent blessing I got today (1/30/18) from the Manager Michael and the owner Dan. I brought my 2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition to them to have my transmission looked at. Now I'm a full-time single dad and an unemployed disabled veteran at this time. Mr. Michael was very polite and asked me about my daughter's school and just made me feel comfortable. Long story short, I told him I would let them keep my vehicle there to avoid driving it and making matters worse and would have to wait till I received my tax refund in order to pay for the repairs. After the initial transmission overhaul of $3500 I had to take it back several times due to a loose connection that was throwing an error and causing a shifting issue. Then 30,000 miles into the rebuild the front transmission seal blew fluid everywhere. They replaced the converter and front seal. They seem to stand behind their work....so far. Dan was very helpful and straight forward, a little more than I can say for Dwight. read more

Good reviews except for a couple exceptions, but I myself know that some customers are just impossible to please no matter what you do. These guys disassembled my trans, provided a quote and as soon as I told them go, they were on it- I had my vehicle by the following week. Took my Jeep in because it was slipping out of gear. The guys there were friendly as can be and pretty damn honest. They had my car in there for almost an hour and checked everything they could. Turns out it wasnt even the tranny, it was a crank position sensor in the motor not telling the tranny how fast the engine was going. They did not charge me a cent and tole me what the problem really was. I still tipped the tech who spent his time on my car 40 bucks, its only fair, they get paid commission. Whike I was there, I witnessed 2 customers come and pick up their cars, both extremely happy at how inexpensive and minor their repairs ended up being. At this day and age where dishonesty has almost become acceptable, these guys at Eagle were as honest as it gets. These guys took SUCH good care of us. Our 2004 VW bug had some severe transmission problems. (Mostly due to an unannounced recall on the VW transmissions. the recall "expired" before we knew about it.) Eagle did everything they could to mitigate costs - even tried to find us a certified used transmission. I think they saved us 1.5-2K based on estimates we got from the dealer. They kept us updated and explained everything. Dan was great. I'm not completely clueless, but I don't know a lot about transmissions, but I never felt talked-down to or taken advantage of. Once they understood the scope of the problem, they invited us back into the shop to see the damaged parts and explain what was wrong and how they would be fixing us. Everything about that car had been an ordeal up to this point, but once we took it o Eagle things improved greatly. Awesome Service!!!! Took my car to the Cadillac dealer and was told it had a Misfire and they were going to have to charge me $125 just to tell them what was exactly wrong..Left there and headed straight to Eagles Transmission. They had recently fixed my coil and spark plugs so I knew they could help me with that problem. Well it turns out I had no misfire! They just didnt program my part right and were trying to blame something else wrong in the car..Eagles Transmission was able to diagnose it and explain exactly what was wrong. DID NOT honor warranty or fix my truck! BEWARE, this shop has serious issues with being able to correctly diagnose the problem with a vehicle!! They replaced a part and charged me $290 but it continued making noises. When I took it back in, they tried to say that they replaced a worn out part even though it wasn't the piece causing the problem. I will never return!! read more

Its nice to find a mechanic that still cares about customers. I brought in my daughters car because it would not get up to speed and seemed to have trouble shifting. I was convinced it was the transmission, but after diagnosing the problem Dan said it wasn't a transmission problem. He said he was sure, he was in the business of selling transmissions and would love to sell me one if I had a problem with mine. Nice! Must say that was as honest an answer as I could get. In the end went to Meinke on the recommendation of Dan where the problem was in a clogged catalytic converter. Got that replaced and the car runs like new. Thanks! Not good business people. I left my key with a silver ring attached when I dropped my truck off for what they offered as a "free" diagnostic. I picked my truck up 5.5hrs later. I pulled into my driveway....went to put my key back on my main set of keys and saw that my silver ring was not only missing but that the rubber coating that holds the ring on was split in half. I can no longer attach my truck key to my main set of keys thus leaving me to keep up with my truck key separated with no key ring attached. I ran to Walmart and they wanted $60 to cut a new key. I called and explained the situation to Eagle (Michael) and was immediately hit with.....it was in tact when I saw it last.....not sure what happen when I went to lunch. When I inquired further, I was told this....You came in and we diagnosed you for free.....why would we spend $60 on a key when we didn't make anything off of you? I said.....excuse me...YOU OFFERED A FREE DIAGNOSIS so don't come at me with that. Why should I have to cover it when it was ruined in your care? He said it didn't happen there. There was more conversation.....getting the owner involved to see what he did with the key....He originally told me the owner was gone and I'd need to wait until Monday (this happened on a Friday) I pushed and asked him if he didn't have a number on him to try and resolve this today and he at that point said he would contact him. I was called back and told the owner told him.....look, why would I spend $60 on something I "don't think" happen with us? The thing is... I KNOW it happen with them. I know how I dropped off my key....wonder if there's a camera at the front desk?!? He later tried telling me that when I dropped it off and he took it from me....it didn't have ring on it. After I told him (a couple of times) this was really poor business, he finally offered to pay for 1/2 of it. $30. I said, no thank you and he said okay, well you have a good one and disconnected. I would be VERY weary using this place of business. They take no ownership when ruining something you bring into them (one of our most prized possessions....our vehicles) I'm all about mistakes happening.....however....you make it right!!! You don't blame the customer and send them on their way to cover the costs of your wrecklessnes! I'm at least thankful they didn't "work" on my truck if they're breaking a key. read more

They Done Did Me Right! (Pflugerville @Pecan St. Location) Honest people - which is extremely hard to find today in any business, esp. car care! Tim kept my car for a day, and based on the symptoms I told him, gave me some quotes to set my expectations. In the end he did not find anything significantly wrong. Based on several experiences with various brands and models of car, if I had went to the dealer, I would probably have been told various pot-shot problems and walked away spending several hundred dollars (at the least) and *not* getting a final fix of my car. I took my 2006 Dodge 2500 to Eagle Transmission and am very glad I did. I was given a full understanding of my problem, what it would take (time and parts) to fix it, and charged a fair price for what I believe was honest work. If I ever have transmission problems again, I will go back without question. I was stopped at a stop light when I heard a loud thump, the engine revved, and my truck made an unusual "jump" even with the brakes applied. Coming to the next stop light I had to fight the truck to stop because the engine continued revving higher than normal. I had to really press on the brake to keep the truck in place. When I got home I did some research and best I could tell it was the torque converter clutch that had a problem. I checked the ways to fix this and it was way over my head so I began to check prices and how long it would take to fix. After reading online reviews and calling some transmission shops to get some quotes, no one could get me in quickly except for Eagle Transmission in Pflugerville. Their reviews were positive so I went to check them out. When I told the owner, Dan, what was going on, he quickly identified the problem and cautioned the risk for additional damage if I didn't get it fixed before trying to pull a trailer. I use my truck a lot to pull a bunch of trailers - from bumper pulls to goosenecks, so not being able to pull things is costly to me. Every symptom my truck exhibited, Dan explained and his explanations matched what I'd read online. I asked how long it would take to fix (because downtime could cost me more than the actual bill), and was told he couldn't say because it all depended on what they would find when they got into it. Not something I wanted to hear, but I respected his answer nonetheless. About 4-5 hours after dropping off my truck, they called and said the repair work was done and there was no additional damage! The bill was in line with what'd I'd been quoted by other places, and when I drove off the truck acted like nothing was ever wrong. Later that day I pulled a trailer, and again, no issues. Maybe a torque converter clutch is a typical repair for Dan's team, I don't know. All I can say is the repair was done right, I was charged a fair price, and they got me back on the road quickly. I have no hesitation recommending Eagle Transmission in Pflugerville to anyone and will go back when I have transmission issues. Honest repair shops are hard to come by, but there is definitely one in Pflugerville. read more

Dan and his crew are amazing!!! I was very concerned with the warning lights in my '08 Lexus and I was told that I would have to replace the entire transmission. I began to weigh the value of car versus the suggested repairs. A friend suggested that I have Grand Imports take look because she has very good experiences with them and I did. They were very knowledgeable and upfront. They suggested that I take to Eagle Transmission and speak with Dan because it wasn't an obvious problem. Dan was extremely thorough and wanted to make sure he was able to duplicate the issue before revealing a solution, as a way of getting to the heart of the issue. Great! Once he was able to pinpoint the exact issue and fix it quickly. It turns out the problem were solenoids which he was able to remove and replace saving me hundreds of dollars on the repairs and thousands of dollars it would have taken to buy a whole new car. Most general repair shops don't specialize in transmissions and I'm very glad I took it to Dan because he deals with transmissions all-the-time. Thanks Dan, keep up the good work!! I had my clutch repaired at another shop and it wasn't quite right. There were lots of new rattles and creaking noises and a bad vibration in third gear. Took it back to the first shop. They worked on it again, and it was better but still not like before the repair. I had Eagle Transmission give me a second opinion. They found the parts that needed tightening and made a minor adjustment to the clutch. It drives like new now! Amazing! The most surprising part was that there was no charge even though I had never been to this business before. My next clutch repair will be at Eagle Transmission! read more

Took my Explorer in 50,000 miles after Eagle Transmissions put my transmission in ( which cost me$2300) because I was having some transmission problems. After they inspected it they said the torque converter went out. They would warranty the torque converter, but I had to dump another $780.00 into my transmission. I asked the service rep several question about why it cost so much. His resonse; "It's itemized on your bill." No explaining, no further details. Seriously, 50,0000 miles later and I'm spending almost 1/2 of what it cost me in the first place for a new transmission. I will not be returning as a customer and will not recommend anyone else to go there. read more

Do you want your truck fixed right and on time? Do you want people who are going to give you reasonable and accurate deadlines? Then eagle transmission is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! If you're planning on a quick in and out transmission job then do not come here because eagle transmission will leave you sitting on your hands way longer than their deadlines predicted. I took my truck in there just to get a new transmission put in, and they told me it would be 2-6 days. 2 weeks later I still do t have my truck. They told me that I would get it back at the latest the next Thursday (brought it in on a Friday so it would be 6 days) and 2 weeks later they still have it so I call them to ask what's up and he said ok we JUST STARTED WORKING ON IT, and it will be done maybe Thursday, 100% by Friday. So today's Friday and I'm like hey summer time cool I get my truck back everything's going good for me. HAHA WRONG, turns out I'm not even getting it back the day they said I'd 100% get it back on. So overall fuck eagle transmission, I hope they never get another customer again so nobody else gets their time wasted by them. read more
