I cannot recommend Eagle Transmission in Cedar Park enough - they are phenomenal in all areas! I had a very, very, very difficult and complicated issue with my Mazda3's transmission system that kept resurfacing, despite any repairs that were done (that were needed anyway). No shop I talked with, including THREE local Mazda service departments, had any idea what could be the issue and had never even heard of this problem. Rick and Eagle Transmission kept testing and driving and diagnosing my car, as much as it took over almost 2 months, until they figured out what was wrong. They went above and beyond to fix it and test it out until they were comfortable enough to return the car to me. Some things you're lucky to see once in a lifetime. I took my car to Eagle because it was making a loud "racing" noise and I thought it was the transmission since the car is 8 years old with 93,000 miles. They ran a computer diagnostic test, then test drove the car. In fact two or three mechanics test drove the car. I got a call the next day expecting a big repair bill was headed my way and fully ready to have the work done. They asked me to come by and take a ride in the car with one of the mechanics because the computer test didn't show any problems and they were having trouble duplicating the problem. I went down and we took the car out on the road. After about 10 minutes of driving, I stepped on the gas & said "There it is, that's the sound, like the motor is racing at 5 or 6 thousand RPM's. The mechanic said "That's not the transmission because I can feel the transmission changing gears very smoothly. What you have there is a noisy transmission clutch fan. The fan comes on when the transmission starts to heat up and as the fans get older, they make more noise. We don't even do that work, but if you object to the noise we can recommend another shop that will replace the fan for you. Since they didn't find a problem, they didn't charge me for inspecting the car and running the diagnostics. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of places out there that would have told me I needed a rebuilt transmission for about $2,500.00. As you can imagine, Eagle Transmission earned my trust 100% today. read more

I'm posting this as an almost and future customer if that makes sense. I called Tony at Eagle Transmission. About 4-6 weeks ago, my clutch started sticking on my 2012 VW with about 21K on the car. I take it in to the dealership and was told that the clutch was shot and that I would be on the hook for about $2,400 for labor and parts for the clutch. I disagreed - vehemently. I put I a quote and got a response back from Tony who let me know if I made it to his garage by about noon he could probably fit me in. In the end, I did not end up getting my clutch replaced by Tony (who ordered the part for me just in case) due to an arrangement with the manufacturer. However, given his willingness to work with me, speed of response and just overall understanding, I'll be going to him from now on for my transmission work. Thanks Tony! read more

Got work done back on May 28 on my vehicle that was not the work that needed to be done. I specifically asked them to replace the water pump on my vehicle after I had gotten it diagnosed from Toyota. Toyota was way out of my price range so I contacted a couple shops, Tony from Eagle gave me a quote that I was able to afford so I brought my car to them. Once they had my car they said the water pump was fine and that all it needed was a hose replaced nothing more oh and the brakes. My husband called me and told me what they said, I had my husband call again and reconfirm that the water pump was what we needed fixed not the hose. Again they said just the hose is needed. My husband and I trusted them and their mechanics expertise and did the work they suggested including the breaks. We pick the car up and it doesn't even make it home starts overheating and shaking like crazy on the way. We call them back the next day and Tony says to bring the car back in the following day, Tony calls us and tells my husband "hey so yes it's the water pump after all" I was furious! We had just paid $700+ for the hose and brake work only to find out the work they said it DID NOT need was what it needed after all. I send Tony a message here on Yelp stating that I had asked them specifically for the water pump to be repaired they refused to do it because it was fine. We trusted them. Only to find out the very next day after they worked on it that it indeed needed what I had brought it in for. Tony reads my message and calls my husband not me. He tells my husband that they will take care of the car and do whatever work it needed and not to worry about it. We were extremely thankful at this point because we need this vehicle for work. Well here we are not even 6 months after they serviced my car that it was overheating again, and now not even running. We towed it Toyota because they do free inspections and they told us the water pump is still failing and needs to be replaced. Weird! We just got that done. The tech at Toyota said the pump was not new. So of course we think this work should be warranted as it states on Eagles website. Well my husband goes in to ask about the work and Tony pulls up only 1 invoice from the first time we took it not the second when they did the actual work it needed and then procedes to tell my husband that they didn't do any other work on the car other than the hose and brakes. He then quotes us at $1000 repair the same repair I have his quote from in my messages for WAY less. Hmm excuse me Mr. Tony but what exactly did you take care of then when we had to bring the car back to y'all ?! Seems like they just tweaked something enough for it to run a little longer without actually repairing it. So here we are again with a vehicle that should be running perfectly fine with a good water pump that "had" just been installed but not we're left high and dry. It's really sad because Tony seemed like a good guy that was trying to help. He asked us to give him a review on here after he "took care of us" but I'm glad I waited only to find out we were never really taken care off in the first place. Sad! Be careful make sure they are doing what they say they are. Hope you don't end up a couple months down the road with a broken car. read more

My name is Gabriel and I went to this place cause I looked it up on the internet and saw that place and how they mainly deal with transmissions, and my transmission light kept coming on, so I went and spoke with Tony and said that I have been to a dealership and they quoted me and said my transmission needs to be replaced for $4,700 and I didn't want to pay that much, and so I paid the diagnostic fee and left and came to Tony at Eagle transmission, first off the guy looks like he's in the mob with nice tan skin and pulled back shoulder length, hair, any who I talked to Tony and he diagnostic the issue for free and (20) twenty minutes Tony and said he could do it for $3,400, first off I didn't want to pay these outrages prices, but damn it's a transmission and they said it would go out on me, or I wouldn't be able to drive the vehicle if I didn't repair it, so I went ahead with the repairs, in the process I got a call from Tony saying that he would some electrical parts that pushed the price up to $3,811.00 to my surprise I wasn't expecting that However when I took in the vehicle on Thursday and Tony said it would ready Monday, which is quick work and a hell of a deal compared a dealership was going to charge me, I wasn't ready on Monday, but the following Thursday and Tony understood, Thanks Tony for a job well done, I'll definitely send business your way. Brian Holt is a young businessman. His intent with our 57 Chev was good but in reality I feel his shop was over their head in a classic vehicle restoration. I wanted the manual transmission converted to an automatic. They did the work but I had to bring it back several times. Finally I asked to b referred to someone else .... which he did. They had to replace the entire transmission. Worked after that. ( The shop he sent me to could not believe that Brian's shop undertook this job. Transmission yes, but not the antique restoration. ) I needed the head gaskets replaced as the radiator was too small for the engine with the conversions done to it. Brians shop added an air conditioning system to the vehicle .... thus needed more radiator flow. The new radiator purchased from Brian was too small. Money wasted !! Again - lack of knowledge . Seat belts installed. The bolt pulled out and had my family been in a panic stop may of been hurt. Back to the shop. ALL IN ALL --, Brian at Eagle Transmission is a great person. He is honest. His lack of expertise in antique vehicles is where his shop went in over their head. His shop manager represented lots of experience where their knowledge was not there. They ARE a transmission shop ... not a place for antique restoration. I spent almost $10,000 on re-do's. I asked for some type of reimbursement. After a seat belt cane loose back to them. I got the car back two weeks ago. After all the back and forth and extra money spent I asked for Brian give me a fair refund. I assured him I have receipts for everything I am making accusations of . I have been self employed years so do not understand the why he would not refund me some of the extra money, and extra down time of our vehicle. To me this does not seem unrealistic. If Brian, Eagle Transmission in Cedar Park, were to make an effort to compensate us, thus admitting he was wrong, I would be happy to update this comment. At this, I feel more than justified, to post this. This is not slander as again I have receipts for EVERYTHING I am saying. Needed new front brake pads and rotors. Called around, and eagle had a very nice and knowledgeable gentleman answer the phone. Went in, and they didn't have my part. Oh no!! Worst experience ever with a automotive shop. Had the truck in at 95k miles replaced the transmission and in 16k miles it's out again. Their response, 12 months 12k miles. They asked for another $3.5k. IMO take it somewhere else, transmissions should last longer than 16k miles. Rick is the worst type of business owner. If I could give Ken a hundred stars, I would!!!! My car was making noises when I shifted into drive and reverse so, of course, I thought it was the transmission or a trans-related problem. When I explained the whole situation to a very patient Ken, who listened attentively, he said he was going to send out the tow truck to get my car. The tow truck arrived and even the tow truck driver was super friendly. The next day, Ken called and told me it was not the transmission or anything related, which meant he could not help me with the repair. He did tell me exactly what was wrong with it, though, and recommended ER Automotive to make the repair. He even told me to tell Eric that he would include the paperwork from the diagnostic so he could see the results and what was really wrong. After telling me to call Eric and see if Eric could come get the car from Eagle, he told me that I should call him back and let him know. If Eric could not come to get the car, Ken would take the car to Eric. WHAT???? Who has that kind of service anymore??? I was so impressed, no, blown away by his kindness!! Turns out Eric was one person short so he could not get the car from Ken. When I called back, Ken said he would get the car to him right after lunch, which he did. He even told me that my 2004 car is in overall really good shape and should last me a good long time. Clearly Ken is one of those people who we wish were in abundance on this earth. He is honest, he is caring, he is helpful, he is kind. What more can I say? I was searching for a repair shop for my grandson's car. The auto repair shop that I work with does not have the equipment to work on a 2 wheel drive. I live in Burnet & no one around here seemed to have time to even look at the car. They also wanted to charge me to diagnose the problem.
