So I went to Yelp and looked up Transmission shops in Round Rock. Called the first one Yelp recommended which was A Plus Transmissions. They asked a few questions and I told them what I wanted. They said they would gladly do it and scheduled me for the next morning at 11 am. Nice thing was, they are only charging $19.99 and 22 point check. WOW!!! They were so nice and walked us through what they were going to do and estimated time. They were off on the time, but for the cost ... I was thrilled! An hour and a half later we were on the road and the Blazer was driving like it was supposed to again. These folks took the proper amount of time to review my vehicle and even let me know what other codes my Blazer was showing so I could take it to my mechanic. Very professional and really nice folks.

Cadillac dealership said I should have it towed due to the knocking sound. My car has always been kept immaculate. Yes you quoted a fair price, it was Lambs in Lakeway that was ridiculous and most people know they are. The engine took long because they sent the wrong engine and in regards to my finances it wasn't I couldn't pay . I was at the mercy of you and I was nothing but polite every single interaction with you. Your dropped the ball so many times and you actually asked me for advance payment at one point because you needed to pay your taxes . I didn't want to pay you UPFRONT Frank. You fix then pay, that's most every way it's done . You didn't have the money to cover costs which is a concern regarding running a business. I had also just spent money on another car repair and boat repairs . The car sat as I decided what I wanted to do. As far as stating you could have charged me storage you never once mentioned that and I have every phone call that proves that. Pretty shady of you to pull that out on your reply here. Again not on single time did you ever mention storage fees. So please don't act as if it was some favor you did. The car went in for an engine replacement. As you confirmed the day you put the engine in to test drive you call me telling me I need steering column replacement. Yes I have you on recording Frank stating that indeed the lift and big tires were the culprit. The steering was completely fine and it had not been driven once per you as we waited for the engine issue and replacement to be resolved. You now understand why I recorded you. You can't remember what you told me. I didn't struggle to pay you. I had a boat in repair and another car a Range Rover in repair. I communicated to you very professionally. By the way let's remember you had me pay up front on everything. It was the engine that was ordered that was delayed. 2. Regarding the transmission line. Let the public see this post. I pick up my car from Frank and I make it about a quarter to half a mile or so down road and what becomes the problem is the transmission line. Frank I have that call to you recorded as well and your claim that I accelerated or false and blew the line is total BS. It had nothing to do with big tires. I'm saving all my facts, statements from GM certified techs , and video of your guy coming over to "fix" it. Within a day or 2 it went out again and I made you tow it for free. It was your guy that you sent and had him do what he did and sent me on my way and that all was fine only to have it sent back to you. By the way on our recorded call you tried to lead me to believe with certainty it was one thing when in fact you were wrong and called me with another reason. Again grateful I recorded both those conversations. The reputable mechanics I discussed were my brothers out of Houston. My brother owns a professional garage and luxury and collector car biz for 22 years. The other reputable people was a connection I had out of A Cadillac dealer in Dallas. I mentioned this to you and so logically my car stayed locally with you. 3. The whole issue about you spending 200 for the detail I will just say to anyone reading this look at the pics of my Escalade left in his care. Never should have happened Frank. By the way I took a time stamp video of my car before it went back to you. I didn't spill the oil. That's a regular engine oil. Why would I need engine oil to leave in my backseat after you just repaired and did an engine replacement. Again shady of you to blame that on me. And by the way I had to waste 3 hours of my work day sitting there waiting on a detail. Completely unprofessional. 4. I asked you you fix my windshield wiper motor while you had it. You never did. I kept asking you very time you had the car and I have your texts alone that show you forgot several times. same thing Frank regarding the transmission thermostat. He actually told me it was an issue with my entire front windshield not being placed properly when being manufactured, and that due to the leaking because of this, the entire fabric below all of my interior and seats was probably drenched and that it was going to be a multi-thousand dollar fix as they would need to take out all of my interior and install new carpeting. I decided to go to the dealership and get a second opinion. They realized within 10 minutes it was indeed a leak in my sun roof (which remember, the mobile tech did not EVEN LOOK FOR.) it was an extremely quick fix and there was nothing wrong with my front windshield at all. (?????????????) I was told by management they would be reaching out to me after the winter break to discuss this and of course they never did. I absolutely should have gotten refunded the $140 or however the heck much it was for that mobile diagnosis. They also made a huge misdiagnosis with my husband's car previously, and I decided to give them another chance after that (but obviously should not have). The mechanics they hire are CLEARLY not qualified.

However, in my experience, their prices are extremely high. Once everything is added up, you can often find another mechanic or repair shop that offers the same quality work for a much more reasonable price. Their labor rate is around $189 per service, so if you need brake pads and a battery replaced, you could easily end up paying $300+ in labor alone, plus the cost of parts. Recently, I was charged nearly $1,000 just to replace the brake pads on my SUV. Meanwhile, a friend of mine recently had both brake pads and rotors replaced elsewhere for a little over $200. My advice is to protect your hard-earned money and compare prices before committing to repairs. There are many honest mechanics and repair shops that provide great service and quality work at fair prices. In my opinion, Christian Brothers presents itself very well, but their pricing can feel excessive and disappointing.

When you enter the shop located just off Palm valley in Hutto, if your can find a park in their densely occupied lot, you are immediately greeted at the service desk by Paul out one of the other associates. Honest, up front, and NO price gouging!!! We went in for a water pump, radiator hoses and coolant flush. He noticed that our serpentine belt was bad and thermostat rusted ('07 300c).
