The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. I've already shared videos and stills with the neighborhood (as we are having coyote issues), and it was so quick and easy to do. A+++ experience all around! Thank you so much, David!

Ara showed up on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and told me what he thought needed to be done. But first he wanted to go to a hardware store (or two) to see if they had the materials necessary. He found them and asked when I wanted him to do the work. I assumed it'd be a week from today, but when I asked if he could do it today he paused, nodded, and said, "Sure." He reconstructed the part of my door jam that had bothered me for 18 years - and made me glad I didn't try to do it myself. AND he did the painting!!! Thank you, Ara! I have never written a review before on yelp but felt compelled by the service I just received. We have one of the those fancy front doors that past locksmiths have said they are unable to open. They have always had to break open our upstairs patio door. Not only was Steve, our locksmith, able to come right away, but he was able to open the front door. In addition, he found the reason why the door was not opening in the first place and replaced the mechanism causing the jam and fixed it. My girlfriend and I were worried that we would have to pay thousands of dollars to replace the lock. Thanks to Steve, we paid a minimal amount. Actually, we were charged less than what past locksmiths have charged just for letting us in. I highly recommend this company and if you do call, ask for Steve. read more

I locked my keys in my car in the middle of the night and I contacted Eagle Lock and Key......the guys name is Steve....anyway I woke up the poor guy from his sleep....and needless to say he was in a good mood and was willing to come out and help me solve my problem.. When I asked if a spare key could be made, he even gave me a number to a lock and key company and said I can try calling them to see if a code could be used to make a spare key. He ended up being able to pick the lock very quickly with no damage to the file cabinet. He exceeded expectations and charged a fair price. I will call him back for other jobs now that I know he is trustworthy, reasonably-priced, competent at his job, and a nice low-key (no pun intended) patient guy.
