Very nice and professional locksmith - gave clear advice and I took that advice even though that resulted in no sale this visit. That's just the kind of service that fosters return business - and we will be back. Many thanks! read more

Yoav absolutely saved my girlfriend! She had a work thing in Hollywood and accidently locked her keys in the trunk. I of course directed her to AAA but they were no help. They unlocked the car but I guess the anti-theft system was triggered and did not allow them to open the trunk or turn on the car. Next up she called some guys sent from All State insurance. Although they tried and tried it was Yoav who saved the day. He got those keys out in less than 20 minutes. He did what 2 other "professionals" were unable to do in 3 hours! So happy that she was in good hands and she is now on her way home. Oh! And also the price! Super freaking affordable. Another guy quoted me $280 when Yoav was only $150! If this ever happens again I'm going directly to him next time. read more

Saved me $800 when local Lexus dealership told me my key was broken. The dealership replaced the battery and it still wouldn't work. Turns out they gave me a dead battery when they replaced it. Yoav is an honest guy and a true professional. He could have charged me for programming a new FOB but he replaced the dead battery with one of his own and tested and voila! Those dealership guys are either incompetent or crooks. Trustworthy, fast, professional and reasonable pricing. He has a reputation for saving people in a bind. Thank you Yoav!!!! read more

From the time we called and until the job was done, my husband and I had nothing but a great experience with A1! The keychain with my entire keys got stolen a couple of days ago including the fob/remote for my car! The thieves know where I live so I had to move quickly. When I called the dealership they quoted me an insane price!! That's when my husband said let's try locksmith. I had no idea that the licensed locksmith like A1 can deactivate and reprogram the fobs for cars!! We are immensely happy we called! They saved us so much money Great, fast, thorough service! I feel safe again and it means a lot!! Thank you A1! I highly recommend your business to everyone!! read more

I called the Honda dealership to get a quote for a new key fob and there was no way I was paying that much. I searched for locksmiths and A1 was the first to pick up my call. It cost half of what the dealership was asking for and I was done in 15-20 mins! Affordable prices, efficient, and really great customer service. 10/10 would recommend to anybody. I lost a Nissan Intelligent Key. Never had to replace a car key before and was unpleasantly surprised to learn that it is an expensive mistake to make. When I called the Nissan dealership in DTLA, they literally said it would run me $450 plus applicable tax. Um, that is quite ridiculous. My jaw actually dropped. I picked up my jaw as quickly as I could and hung up. Immediately, I tried to figure some things out--like whether or not I needed a second key. I was not desperate and with that price tag, a spare key was starting to sound like an unnecessary luxury. Since it is not my car though, I was determined to replace the key but also planned to save as much money as possible. (To illustrate this point, I have replaced two side mirrors on two different cars when mechanics were trying to charge me $300-400 for something that costs $30-50 mirror and some time to replace yourself--be resourceful when it comes to car stuff. Here, I was limited because car key programming requires special, expensive equipment ) I conducted plenty of research and learned about cheaper options. First, I went to Yelp and requested quotes from several different auto locksmiths. I will not post who gave me what prices, but I'll give the different quotes: $80 then $120 (more info later), $175, $250 then $140 (just programming), $235, and two did not provide prices. This was before I decided to order an OEM Nissan Intelligent key on eBay for $40 (after shipping/taxes). If you go this route, make sure the Continental ID and FCC ID match your current key. I ordered the key because the $80 offer was contingent on me providing a blank key: $80 was the price for programming, basically. Ordered the key and received it within four days. I wanted to get the duplicate key done ASAP. I thought an appointment was set up with the $80 locksmith. Once I messaged the business confirming the terms, the price jumped to $120. I stopped responding because I was getting shady vibes. At that point, I was frustrated because it seemed like I had ordered a blank for nothing. So, then I had to start looking for locksmiths that would and could program my keys. Word to the wise, let them know upfront if your key needs to be cut because some of these locksmiths will try to take advantage of you and tack on an additional charge when it should be part of the programming price. BEWARE. My first calls were to two other Nissan dealerships. One said it was $164 and the other said $185 for reprogramming and cutting. I was actually thinking it would be the safest bet, but I could not justify wasting money at the dealership. I was weighing my options. Frankly, I also did not like that the dealership was already acting like my OEM unlocked key would not work. Red flag. After literally contacting about 10 more locksmiths on Yelp, I got a range for simply programming my keys. The lowest price I received was $95, but I'd have to drive past Sherman Oaks and they also said they're not responsible if something goes wrong--like what?! Take some accountability if your company screws up, jeez. Most prices were $120 or $140. For those prices, I would rather just take it to the dealership and have more faith and security. Eventually, I recalled requesting quotes from some of those first six and doubled back and asked for updated quotes for only programming/cutting. A1 had the best price by far, $85 to cut and program my Intelligent Key. To be clear, Yoav had the best deal from the very beginning because he would have provided the key and programmed/cut at $175 and with an unlocked, blank OEM key it went down to $85. The backup option I called said $95 programming + $10 for the cutting (not a fan of charging $10 for cutting a key that takes 30 seconds). When I went to A1's location near the Grove I had to call because no one was at the stall. It took Yoav about ten minutes to get to me and he got right to work. He did give me the spiel about it possibly not working if the key is not unlocked, but I said please try. He programmed both keys in less than 10 minutes. He cut my key in less than one minute. I paid him $85 and thanked him profusely. I would wholeheartedly return if I encounter this issue again. I literally saved hundreds. Not bad, not bad at all. Total replacement costs: $40 OEM Intelligent Key from eBay + $85 programming/cutting = $125! Thanks Yoav and A1. Still unhappy that I lost the key in the first place, but it is more palatable to save some money while getting two programmed keys for the car. Turn the lemon into lemonade. Could not be happier. Responsive + fast + friendly + competent + best deal = A1 indeed! read more

I needed a duplicate key for my rental car, which I misplaced but good in my apt. I tried all different Locksmiths, got prices and checked with the dealer. The dealer wouldn't do it because the car is a rental. A1 Locksmith was by far the best price. They responded to me through Yelp right away. They came to my place and had the job done perfectly in record time. I recommend this company without reservation. Also, the final price was exactly the price quoted on the phone. I think it was the owner that came by. Needed a replacement key/programming. I know for sure the idiot that came tried cutting my key without the codes and couldn't get my car going. Then proceeds to tell me that he knows a guy who can fix my ignition cylinder for $600 lmfao. Are you kidding me? I'm not a fool and I did my research before this scam artist got here. Left without fixing jack. Had Craig from Pop-A-Lock cut me a brand new key and transferred my chip to my new key and I was well on my way. Idk wtf this balding, dwarf-guy did in the 15 minutes he was here because he sure didn't know what the hell to do! So glad I didn't spend a dime on this joke of a business. Yoav saved the night! My brother lost my car keys while in town visiting and Yoav was able to help immediately. He arrived in 20 minutes and quickly was able to give me a new key fab for my Corolla. His prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend. read more

I needed a car key programmed and cut as a backup for the one that came with my car. A1 was pretty close to my residence and this was not an emergency that needed immediate attention. I called, found out that they could do it and they gave me a quote which I thought was very reasonable, since I had the replacement already. I just needed their craftsmanship to 'git 'er done'! I visited their kiosk on Third Street and Alex handled the whole operation. It took a little time and a phone call to the boss, but I was soon on my way. My only caveat: they ONLY accept cash at that location! Alex was terrific to deal with, even giving me his chair to sit on (I use a cane) while I waited. Thanks Alex, you are a true gentleman and a craftsman. read more

We recently lost the only key to our car.  We called Toyota, who quoted $817 to make a new key, and $200 for the second key, and would have required us to two our car to their location.  Instead, we turned to a locksmith named Yoav, who came to our home and did the job for us for 1/3 that price.  He was prompt, attentive, caring, and very skilled. Yoav does locksmithing for cars, homes, and businesses.  He is licensed and bonded.  He has a mobile locksmithing truck arrayed with all the equipment he needs, which enables him to serve a very wide area of LA.  He also has a shop, located across from the Farmer's Market: 6302 W. Third Street.  His prices are excellent, and his service cannot be bested.  He also has an adorable, sweet personality; very sunny, optimistic, and warm. Yoav does new installations, laser keys, lockouts, transponder keys, re-keying of locks, vandalized ignitions, garage door openers, and more.  Give him a challenge!
