We scrambled to find a locksmith nearby and got a recommendation for Albert at Midway as he has 40 years of experience. After leaving a voice mail, he quickly called me back and reviewed the photos of the knob and lock in question that I shared. Al provided clear options for replacement and promptly ordered the new parts. Next day he arrived right on time and quickly got to work. The new locks were definitely recent models while looking similar to our old models, which is what we wanted. The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. I've already shared videos and stills with the neighborhood (as we are having coyote issues), and it was so quick and easy to do. A+++ experience all around! Thank you so much, David!

Ara showed up on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and told me what he thought needed to be done. But first he wanted to go to a hardware store (or two) to see if they had the materials necessary. He found them and asked when I wanted him to do the work. I assumed it'd be a week from today, but when I asked if he could do it today he paused, nodded, and said, "Sure." He reconstructed the part of my door jam that had bothered me for 18 years - and made me glad I didn't try to do it myself. AND he did the painting!!! Thank you, Ara! Really happy with their work! I have used this company a while ago when I had a car problem and was very satisfied with the service back then, so I decided to call them again today. The technician was ready and willing to go out of his way to help me out with the installation of a few new door knobs around my house as well as fixing my front door. He showed up on time and proceed to inform me about the different options I have and an estimate of the parts and labor. The prices were very reasonable and after I approved the cost, Sal started working on it. He was very careful and very neat. Clean after himself and finished the job in a reasonable time. Gave me all the indications and extra tips and make sure I understood about the lifetime warranty on the locks he installed. The best locksmith I have ever used!! Our keys were stolen and we were left feeling very unsafe and full of anxiety. I called Budget Locksmith and he arrived to my house within 20 MINUTES! He was so kind and helpful. Instead of replacing the entire lock which would have cost me hundreds of dollars, he simply tweaked the lock a bit so it required a different key. He only charged me $95 and was in and out within 25 minutes. They also accept Venmo which makes the process so easy. I have had locksmiths before charge me $400 for the same job. He also made me spare keys free of charge. I have been ripped off by so many locksmiths in my past. This was such a great experience. Sal is a lifesaver! A locksmith is one of those services many people don't often need, but when you do need a locksmith, you want someone like Sal. He showed up within 15 minutes of my call (which was at 9pm on a Monday), was professional, friendly, and experienced. Within minutes he had cleanly opened the door to my apartment and charged less than anyone else in the area. The biggest shock to me (in a good way!) is that Sal made NO damage to the lock. I always thought you had to replace the whole thing.. new set of keys... $350... not with Sal. Beware of other locksmiths who try to overcharge this way! I called Sal because someone i had rented my apartment out had locked me out and disappeared. He showed up on time and got me into my place. When i saw what had been done to my house , the destruction, damage and violation of my things i broke down and sobbed. Sal was not only kind, he made sure both my door and gate were incredibly safe and everything changed so that my tenant could never get back in or duplicate the old keys. He consoled me and charged me so very little because of what the other damage was going to cost me. Not only that he called me later that night to check in on me as i was so upset. Well I called this company one of only 2 I really Trust out here... already expecting that there was a high charge for coming out this time of day.... So a man answered my call and came to the rescue!! He told me that there was a late "after hour fee" and that it doesn't include making a new key for my car, so I could go home! I told him that was fine, as long as it gets done and I could get out of there. Key was made, and I was soon on my way!! I did mention YELP!! AND HE OFFERED ME 10% OFF!!!!! I called Budget Locksmith after reaching out to a few companies who never called back or were hours later in returning my call. I was called back by a man named Sal who assured me we could schedule a specific time to meet at the storage unit. He called prior to our time to meet, to confirm all details. He was confident, precise and successful in removing a total of three locks; one was a cylinder lock; difficult. I was having issues with two locks specifically them latching properly. I emailed/called a couple places for help. One place said they may need to remove the door (which seemed extreme). Sal responded quick, clearly communicated with me and said he would be close by after his next job.
