Mr Ben is L.A.'s best kept secret ;) I called him after moving into a 1930s duplex that had a couple of doors that wouldn't close. I thought maybe he could jerry rig a little hook or something for my bedroom door. Instead, he removed the sprayed-over hinges and the door itself, re-planed it perfectly, rehung it (fits like a glove now), and was even able to restore the original skeleton lock & key! And then he hung my curtains! This guy's the real deal. Could probably fix or figure out anything. Old fashioned manners, very professional. Would definitely call him again! read more

After trying three different options to copy my apartment fob, I was ready to give up. Those Key.me kiosks didn't even give me an option to copy the fob, a random parking lot locksmith kiosk tried and failed, and an online service said they could but were going to charge $50 per fob. Luckily I finally found Mister Ben, and I'm so glad I did. He went out of his way on a Sunday to meet up and copy my fob quickly and professionally. And they were extremely affordable too! He generally seems to enjoy being a locksmith. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive. Highly recommend if you're stuck like I was! read more

I rarely leave a review on Yelp, but Ben deserves taking the time to leave a great one. Communication was responsive and fast; Ben worked with my schedule to find a time to do the work and was on time. The door fix was magical. He is very detail oriented, took the time to do it well, and even had matching paint to cover what was sanded. Finally, he cleaned up throughly. Thank you, thank you! read more

After 40 years in the apartment renovation biz, I know a good contractor when I see one. On time, easy to reach, plenty of the right tools for the job, and the expertise to see it to completion, is just the start. Appliance repair can be tricky but he handles it very competently. His real forte is locksmith, so he is on my list for that too! I can tell you after all those years, fastidiousness is unexpected in the trades. The usual is to get the job done fast and let others clean up your mess. Not with Ben! What's also worth every penny is his experience, diligence, physical agility, and problem solving. A contractor worth his weight in spam has to think on their feet and be physically flexible to get into awkward spaces. If you have an appliance that is about 20 years old, KEEP IT! Why? Because that era's quality is unbeaten by today's programmed obsolescence and plastic parts. Attached is pic of my Kenmore clothes dryer. It may be a brontosaurus but it is still munching along and the best of its era. You can trust Ben to get it done right and be tidy at the same time! ~ErgonomicsDr read more

Sunday Night at 11:45 PM, after a long day harboring a bad sunburn, food coma and the sounds of our cat excitedly ringing out that we are finally home, I reach for my keys to discover.. F**k! I don't have them. They are locked inside. Who's going to come out at this odd hour before I pass out in the hallway? Thank goodness there is Ben. The guy was super responsive, got out to our apt quickly and (at a moment that it would have been easy to ask for any rate) charged us a very fair flat rate for the service. Ben's legit. If you currently in a disposition too. I can vouch that Ben is going to treat you right. Thanks, man!! read more

Left my mask in my apartment this morning before work. Had locked the deadbolt when I left and couldn't get back in. After 15 minutes of trying to get my door open, I had to go to work. Was dreading coming home and having to wait an hour + for someone to show up to help. I called Mister Ben after looking at the map view on Yelp for locksmiths. He showed up in 5 minutes and fixed my deadbolt in less than 20 and made punches of my key instead of copies. He made the whole process so fast and smooth that I had to write this review. He also said if I have any issues to let him know and he'll come back and fix them. If you're having deadbolt/lock out issues, don't hesitate. Just call. read more
