After locking myself out of my apartment for the 900th time (and making myself look like a damn fool trying to jimmy my doorknob with a Best Buy gift card), I looked to Yelp to find a locksmith. I fully expected to pay $70-90 ($100+ when it's after hours) like I normally do, but I was flabbergasted to hear a quote of $55 from Angel Locksmith. I'm sure this rate changes depending on the hour, but regardless, it's obvious their rates are very competitive. John came by in half an hour and assessed the situation. Apparently the Kwikset doorknob I had was a "newer style" and couldn't be picked. He seemed puzzled at first which worried me, but he proceeded to grab a power drill from his truck and used it to rip the cylinder out and replace it with a new one he had on hand. Never seen that happen before, but it was funny to watch. All-in-all, I had a working doorknob with no need to change keys, so mission accomplished. These guys are unreal! I was traveling for the holidays and left my keys to my house at my previous location. So there I was after a long flight and an uber ride locked outside my place calling locksmiths to try and get a quote. The first few places I called were just absolutely ridiculous either charging 150-200 to open a standard door or playing games with charging for a tech, then charging for a evaluation fee, then charges for the actual labor all while not giving you a price. So I was either going to pay an insane amount of money or gamble on a place that would not give me a price until after the job was done. As luck would have it I decided to try one more place even though I had requested one of these "give you a price later places" and thank god I called Angels locksmiths. The call was so simple instead of asking me for all my contact info first and working there way around the price as best as they could they asked what I needed, what kind of door it was and gave me literally a price no less then 50% better than any place I called. They showed up 15 minutes later and the job was done in less than 10. UNBELIEVABLE service!! This is no exaggeration it isn't even close, they are the 100% go to if your in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area. If you see this review I am asking you just to give them a call to see infact how straightforward, honest and legit these guys are.
