First of all, i went to 3 different locksmiths around my area to make a copy of somewhat complicated key, made several trips back and fourth since it wasn't working. I was about to give up when i was driving down Vermont street and saw Gabo Locksmith. What the heck i'll give it a last try. When i was there, this lady helped me out. She has a keen eye because she saw the previous keys that have failed and said that they cut the groove too deep. Then she got to work, she was bending some thin metal to support the keys to cut with pryers, did some several adjustments, even used some hand held file to scrape more groove. While others just did one pass making the groove, she did it 2-3 more times adjusting it. I went home, with my fingers crossed, tried the key and it worked without and hesitation! I will definitely go straight to Gabo Locksmith next time, i won't waste my time at other locksmith. Totally recommend this place. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Second review: I actually went back the next day to get second set of keys made. Again just like my first review... she made my keys the same way and it worked on the first try. Now i know she's a pro! read more

Do not go here! RACIST owners! My boyfriend (hispanic) and I pulled into the parking lot, and were stared down by the owner and his wife (I assume). She gets whispered something by him and comes over to our car to talk. She tells us that she will get us towed if we do not leave, and we tell her that we're going to a business at the plaza, directly in front our parking spot. They continue to stare him down for 10 Minutes while I go inside, and actually call someone while looking over at our car (the towing company I assume). Why can we not park in the parking lot for the business we're using? Other cars were parked as well, and there was no signs or anything! Genuinely a disturbing act of racism! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Called after hours at 10:30 pm and he came within 15 minutes with the cheapest price out of 5 different locksmiths I called. He got it unlocked in literally 5 seconds. Fantastic service. Super polite and kind. Even though it's late he stayed for another 20 minutes to discuss rekeying and replacing locks on my home. read more

This never happens to me so I was a total novice. I was locked out of my apartment and my building manager was MIA. I knew I had to bite the bullet and call someone to help out but I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ and waste a lot of time. I called a bunch of places and realized Gabo Locksmith was the best deal. He quoted me a price and said he'd be there in about 15-20 minutes and that's how long it took. My lock was a tough one so it took him about 5-10 minutes to jimmy it open, but he was so gracious and personable that the time flew by. As a single female, I felt safe and like it was money well spent. Definite recommendation. read more

I was cleaning my apartment late night/early morning. All ready to bring bags of trash downstairs to the dumpster. Since I looked a mess I changed my pants. Went outside to throw out some trash. I then realized I locked my apartment door and my keys were in my other pants. Being locked out of your apartment at 3:00am is not filled with joy. After one call to GABO LOCKSMITH I was back in my apartment within the hour. read more

I called Gabo at 7am and they answered immediately! Told me the prices and got to my place within the next 20 minutes. He was respectful of my space, kind, and quick with his work-- it took him less than 2 minutes to unlock my door. I also asked him to make a copy of the keys, which he quickly did. Within 20 minutes he had unlocked my door, made two sets of keys for me and was on his way. Great person, definitely recommend. read more

After a struggle to get an Uber or Lyft after 4th of July fireworks, I finally got home late at night ....just to find out I had grabbed my old keys. I went to a friend's home and started researching locksmiths. They (married couple) answered the phone after midnight on a holiday and told me the husband would be at my place at 9 a.m. He was. It did take him awhile to crack my locks because I invested in technology based locks, but within an hour I was in my home. Polite, tenacious, and efficient. Kamsamida ! (I'm sure I slaughtered the spelling of Thank you in Korean.) read more

I do this everyday. Sometimes four times a day. Lock my door, grab my purse and out the door. This time, without keys in hand. Panic sets in, its dark out and I'm late for dinner. I frantically search yelp for a locksmith and come across a couple of places eager to help me with a hefty fee but not GABO LOCKSMITH! Mr. Lee arrived in 10 minutes and smoothly opened my door without any damage in 4 minutes for half the price I was quoted by some other places. Total wizard move!! I made it to dinner on time with my purse, keys, wallet and my evening continued without a glitch. read more

Y'all: these guys are legit! There is nothing worse than having my car key become completely unusable. All my research had me panicking that this could be a huge cost. But have no fear- Lee was here!! He was efficient, friendly, and affordable. In Los Angeles?! Someone pinch me. I was certain he was going to charge me more once we were finished- but he was honest. Go here! There are so few honest businesses: give them your keys and your money!!! Fixed my key, and I didn't go broke doing it: as far as I'm concerned they are rockstars!! read more

Cannot thank you enough! I rushed for a hair appointment about half a mile away and locked my keys into my rental car, in a basement garage with a gate. I realized this 30 minutes into my appointment and you can only imagine how stressed I was for all 7 hours. (Yes, I can't believe it was that long too.) The whole appointment I'm thinking of the dangers of being a young female from out of state, stuck in the city at night, mixed with estimates of the fees my rental car would charge me for "their" inconvenience to help me. I didn't buy their insurance either, a rental car company's dream and wanted to see what was close by before calling them. It was 7pm when I called and I was in my car by 7:23. I even offered to tip and he declined my offer. I told him that I would write a review instead then. I doubt my rental car's "roadside assistance" could've matched his timing or price. If you're lucky enough to be close by to him in an unlucky situation, then you're in good hands. read more

Takes cash only... or so I thought and I was in a panic but out of desperation I asked it he took venmo or PayPal and he said he did!! Such a lifesaver. Copied 2 keys (one of which a lot of locksmiths couldn't do for some reason) and was in and out within a minute. Thank you! read more

I called Gabo Locksmith at 11:30 PM to urgently get all 7 locks to my house changed because my house keys were stolen. They responded and was at my residence only 15 minutes after my call. I was expecting an exorbitant fee due to the fact that it was so late, they drove all the way to Leimert Park and they changed all 7 locks in the middle of the night but their fee was extremely reasonable and I was very grateful. They did an excellent job in changing all the locks especially the gate lock which was not a standard lock and were friendly and very understanding and empathetic to the situation. It was such a stressful situation and Gabo Locksmith was a Godsend. I highly recommend Gabo Locksmith and thank you to Gabo Locksmith! read more

Great experience with these guys. Reasonable price to unlock my door when I locked my key inside my place on a Thursday night - $80. I called a few other places and they quoted me $85 or $95.
