I saw a lot of recommendations for Dynasty, so I came in with pretty high expectations, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing The pineapple BBQ pork bun was served cold. After we mentioned it, the staff reluctantly took it back to reheat, but it came back extremely hot and soft, with a very obvious microwaved texture The custard bun was also unusual. After removing the paper underneath, the bottom of the bun was noticeably white instead of yellow. I can't say what caused it, but it definitely looked strange The rice noodle roll, spare ribs, and chicken feet were okay, but nothing special
Let me tell you, this just about revived me when I was in a bad way. Food was so good - the service was fast and lord knows I needed to eat stat since I had been fasting for over 16hrs. Genuinely one of the best dim sum experiences in Boston I've ever had - loved that it felt communal. Folks of all ages were inside, so I could tell it's a neighborhood gem. Shoutout to the manager who cut the wrapped shrimp food item with scissors automatically (thank you!) so I could eat it easier!
Solid dim sum option for Boston Chinatown, which means a lot coming from someone who grew up going to Hei La Moon (their original location). I have gone to Dynasty for brunch (typical dim sum time) and dinner and both were solid options, serving the classic dim sum dishes like turnip cakes, custard buns, cheung fun, chicken feet, hargow, and fun things like minion-themed buns. Service is quick and ambiance is classy and elegant! While it's not my favorite dim sum in the Boston area, it is definitely a great option in Chinatown. Would also be interested in trying their viral crab rangoon scallion pancake situation...
Awesome dim sum spot in Chinatown Boston. They offer many dishes ranging from xiu mai to cha siu baos that you'll be able to find a dish that accommodate everyone. Will need to retune to try their other Cantonese dishes such as fried garlic shrimp, salt & pepper pork chop, and veggie stir frys.
Food: house special fried rice, chicken Hong Kong style crispy noodle and fish filet with vegetables. The standout was the crispy noodle. Probably the best we've had in a long time. The other dishes were just ok. We will definitely return when back in Boston to try the dim sum and get the crispy noodle again. Highly recommend. Service: efficient. Ambiance: the tables we're extremely close together. So much so that I could barely squeeze by to fit to get to my seat. It also felt like we were dining with the next table. But don't let that hold you back. Parking: Chinatown so very difficult but we managed to score street parking a couple streets down.
I wish we had the time to go before 3pm so I could order their rice rolls. Their soup dumplings taste really good, but the skin was just a bit thick. The chicken feet are not as good as Ming's or China Star, but still flavorful. I love the pineapple bun, with it's runny custard filling and subtly sweet dough. I would have to try again earlier in the day.
Exceptional food, great service with a unique experience you can only get in Boston's China Chinatown. Dynasty is iconic. Known for a stem sum, we certainly enjoyed the dim sum offerings as well as traditional dishes . We've been there several times. This night, we had a table of 10 including a visit visitor from Germany for the World Cup. Unfortunately, I was so excited about the food. I missed several photos. It is all about the food. You can get some less common dishes. Two of my young adult children had friends who were eager to try the scallion, pancake crab Rangoon they had learned about on social media - it lived up to its reputation albeit a little messy! Dumplings of different varieties were amazing. Salt & pepper calamari was fresh, tender and a big hit! The generous portion of Chinese broccoli with garlic was amazing. The beef filet with pepper was one of the most popular dishes at the table and went quickly - the beef was tender with the right amount of spice. Every single dish was fully consumed. Most of all, it was a great value. Had I gone to the north end or anywhere else in Boston? It would've been 30 to 40% more expensive. We got great quality, food and service and an experience in the process. We didn't stray far except for Jelly fish appetizer that was crunchy with cucumber and a vinegar sauce that was tasty. The service is consistently attentive. As soon as you are seated, we had hot tea and drink orders. As food arrived, the table was always cleared. Nice to have this energy.
When I was planning this trip to Boston with my daughter, eating dim sum in a major city is a must! We eat dim sum at every new city we hit up. Our mother/daughter tradition. So after looking up local Chinese joints to eat at, Dynasty popped up. They also offer street parking so that is what sold me on this joint. Considering Boston's Chinatown looks pretty run down, you should never judge a book by it's cover. Walking in, this joint is really bright and clean. The young man working the register greeted us and got my daughter and I a table. The big list of food items was dropped off and we were ready to get the party started! We ordered a handful of things! It's been a while since we have had dim sum so we were ready to put in work. Our food was starting to slowly trickle out. We started off with the congee. It came out pretty fast since it was probably made earlier waiting to be served. Shortly after the rest of our dumplings were making their way to our table. The congee was simple, savory and comforting. It tasted like my childhood. The fried shrimp rolls were tasty, crispy and savory. I have had similar fried shrimp dumplings like this served with a sauce similar to walnut shrimp. That sauce would have been killer with these rolls. The long rice noodles were silky and filled with char sui. The sauce was more vinegar than sweet which is how I have normally had it. Still good! Har gaw and shu mai were fabulous once they dropped off soy and chili oil to dip them in. The turnip cake will always be one of my favorites. My daughter enjoyed the soup dumplings and the rice in lotus leaf. I was too full to try them. Customer service was ok. They got you what you needed but not a lot of exchange in conversation. I feel like most dim sum experiences are like that. The food was so good! I enjoyed every bit of it with my daughter. Parking might be free but very limited and challenging to find. I'm still happy we got to check this joint out and have a great meal here!
I came here on an early Saturday morning and got the dim sum. They did not have a cart here unfortunately, you order off the menu and they bring it out. I got many dishes and they were all delicious! Loved the soup dumplings and noodle dishes. Staff were quick with cleaning finished plates. I got 8 dishes for two people and it was about perfect with some to spare. It was about $70 dollar. Overall I was happy with the food here! Food(50%): 8.6 Staff/service(25%): 8.5 Value(25%): 6.0 Overall: 8.0/10
The food was absolutely delicious! This is the best kimchi I've ever had. The staff was very nice and I will be back again.
We were looking for a bite to eat before heading home, and came in around 7:30. There were 5 of us. Got sat right away and the server brought over menus and hot tea. The experience started to go a little downhill as food started to arrive. It just wasn't the best. Good: Red bean piggy buns, Char Siu Bao, Coconut Jelly (a little odd but kindof a nice palette cleanser?), Scallion Pancakes and Crab Rangoons (from the main menu) Not so good: The Shrimp and Chive dumplings (lacked flavor, and the filling was very chunky.), Beef meatballs with watercress (very odd texture, offputting), two items we wanted were not available after 3, but the menu didn't indicate that (some items had markers that told you they weren't available after 3, these did not), the ginger and scallion pork lo mein - odd noodles, not fully cooked, almost raw veggies. Overall, left us wishing we'd chosen somewhere else.
The portions for the entrees were huge. This was enough for my wife and I to split comfortably, we still didn't finish it all. Some of the best sweet and sour chicken I've had and the buns were soft and fresh. The restaurant is set up nicely and clean. It took a very long time to be helped and to get our check so I am removing one star. I had to flag down a waiter after we had both finished for more than 20 minutes. But as far as food, I was very happy
Got here right at opening in a Saturday and was seated immediately. I love that everything is made to order. Each dish was FRESH! It started filling up around 10AM with families and friends. Coming from a bao lover you MUST get the pineapple roast pork and custard buns. Everything about them was perfect. Fresh out of the oven, with the perfect amount of sweet crust on the top. This is how I'll remember Boston.

We were looking for some good dim sum in Chinatown and found this place. It has a clean, modern vibe which is unusual for legit dim sum places. You order off a checklist menu, so no carts rolling around, but everything came out hot and fresh. This is what we ordered. 1. Char siu sou bbq pork flaky pastry - OMG. These were so buttery, flaky and melt in your mouth. I wish I got more orders. This was by far my favorite dish. I'm still dreaming about it. 2. Har Gow Shrimp Dumplings - these were solid. Piping hot and delicious. 3. Siu mai pork and shrimp dumplings - also solid. Large and juicy. 4. Bean curd rolls with pork in oyster sauce - I didn't love these. They were kind of chewy. 5. BBQ pork noodles rolls - very light and yummy 6. Xiao long bao soup dumplings - these were not too soupy but had good flavor. 7. Molten egg yolk buns--These were surprisingly delicious. The molten yolk oozed out when I punctured them. 8. Red bean minion buns - almost too cute to eat, but they were yummy The service was quick and friendly, but we had to ask for a lot of things because there were no condiments on the table. Parking in that area is a nightmare, but that's Chinatown for you. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more
We were visiting from out of town and wanted to check out Chinatown. We chose this place due to the high reviews but overall, food was just mid. The restaurant itself is big and spacious. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and did not have to wait. Service was quick. We ordered some of the dim sum staples like har gow, sieu mai, tripe, vegetables, shrimp rolls, pork spare ribs, etc. I will say that the portion they give is bigger than what we're used to back home in Los Angeles but I find the flavors lacking and bland. Nothing to really write home about but worth checking out if in the area. Price seems to be fair. read more

My friend was feeling for some dimsum, so we ended up here. We didn't wait too long. We ordered the T4 Quail Egg Shao Mai (new to us), T7 Beef Tripe with Tofu Puff (always love to get tripe, but had to try with tofu puff), T12 Bean Curd Rolls with Pork in Ouster Sauce, T23 Fried Dough Noodle Rolls, T32 Poached Seasonal Vegetable (needed some veggies), T8 Spare Ribs with Taro (never had it cooked with taro), and tea to accompany everything. Everything was cooked fine, but the flavoring wasn't there for me. It tasted too light for me. In addition, we didn't get the Spare Ribs with Taro. However, that worked out in the end since we were getting pretty full. Unless I'm really craving dimsum, I probably wouldn't come back when I am in the area again. read more

This is the new and revamped Dynasty on Tyler street in Chinatown/boston. The place is clean, and seems to offer dim sum all day? We were there on a late weekend afternoon. They give you picture menus and a pencil so you can order dim sum, then they bring it to your table. No dim sum carts, at least not during our visit. Parking in Chinatown is always a difficult challenge. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular that warrants a call out, but not bad either. This place also offers traditional lunch and dinner too, for which we did not try this time. read more

YUM! A solid spot for your classic Chinese no frills dim sum resteraunt. The menu is large, and even for dinner there are still quite a few dim sum options. We had the Har Gow, Xiao Long Bao, Siu Mai, and Char Siu Bao. All had great flavor, but I thought the xiao long bao was particularly good. Service was friendly! read more

As authentic as it gets in Boston Chinatown! The dim sum comes out piping hot. The service is sufficient and fast but not the friendliest (just as it should be). Ambiance is pretty nice for a dim sum spot. So good I only took one pic that does not do the place justice. read more
In the mood for dim sum and wanting to try a place we hadn't been to. We were seated right away at 1 PM on a Saturday. Wishing our menu had pictures like some other dim sum places but hey this is Chinatown so we were happy to explore. Tables were very close together and the place is not overly spacious. Bathrooms were clean. We settled for ( dishes to start and they ended up being plenty. The highlight of our meal were the brisket beef with noodles (sauce is delicious and although the brisket was somewhat chewy but the sauce made up for it) and the shrimp dumplings (had plenty of shrimp). The stir fried rice noodle with Xo sauce was disappointing in taste. Just missed the taste spot and was somewhat bland. We will be back to try other dishes in the future. read more
This is a solid dim sum place with excellent, efficient service. We came here during the Saturday morning rush (11-12), but were seated within 20 minutes as estimated. They have all the dim sum classics (shrimp dumplings, soup dumplings, sweet and savory buns) as well as regular menus you can order off of (we saw other tables doing this), but I think you have to specially request a non-dim sum menu for that. Our food was brought out quickly and well prepared. Our favorite item was the piggy character red bean buns, which were both cute and delicious. Splitting 6 items between the 2 of us was more than enough food, as we came in hungry and left stuffed to the brim. Next time, I would probably just get 4 or 5 items for 2 people. read more
We came for dinner on a Monday. We were seated right away. We order several items like prime rib steak, Sweet & Sour pork, Noodles, Bitter melon soup, and some dim sum items. The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare. The skin had a nice char with the tasty pepper sauce. The Pork had a crispy skin. The sweet and sour sauce was nice. Everything else was good. The portion was decent. I am impressed with the quality of every dish. The owner was very nice to my mom in law. He was chatting with her because she is a regular . Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. We ordered the shrimp noodle rolls, shrimp dumplings, baked pork buns, and the xiao long bao. The fan favorite for my son and I were the baked buns and the xiao long bao. The restaurant had ample seating (definitely at 330 since it was in between lunch and dinner), and was clean. The service was efficient and kind. The prices were shockingly fair, especially considering how steep Bostons prices can be. We really enjoyed our time/food while here. Definitely picked a great spot for dim sum. read more

After dropping a family member off at Logon for a Sunday morning flight, we spontaneously decided to head into Chinatown for some dim-sum. I trust Yelp reviews and ratings (as long as there are more than 100 reviews), and I used it to identify Dynasty as the best option. It was a great choice. The place was bustling with staff and patrons on this busy Sunday morning but these guys have a system where the food flows quickly and easily from the kitchen to the tables. We found the staff to be very efficient and friendly. We ordered a variety of items to get started -- not too many though, because we knew we could order more. We liked every dish and were hungry enough to order more. We ended up taking a little of each dish home with us. One thing we didn't like was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I.e., they weren't very clean. Dynasty can do better in this regard. But other than that, we loved it. read more

Overall, I really liked this place. It's about a five minute walk from the tufts medical center T stop. We ordered five items and the total cost was $40 plus tip. It was clean, had a nice bright atmosphere. TVs everywhere, which is a little strange. My shrimp with Rice noodles and noodles with XO sauce were delicious. These are noodle rolls that are crisped. I think in a frying pan serve with bean sprouts. The steamed pork buns, had a perfect flavor and bun texture. There are no dim sum carts, but the overall setting, food and prices were good. We came here on a Saturday night and it was packed! Luckily we had a reservation so we were sat down right away. The interior felt very modern with tall ceilings and was brightly lit. They had the big round tables that fit 10 people and they were snug against each other. What I like about this place was that they serve dim sum for dinner - though some items are not available after 3PM (ex. noodle rolls). Everything else we ordered was delicious though! My favorites were: T1. Har Gow - Shrimp Dumplings ($7.50) T2. Shrimp & Chive Dumplings ($7.50) T3. Siu Mai - Pork & Shrimp Dumplings ($7.50) T31. Pan-Fried Turnip Cake ($12.95) Overall, the food was great, but like most authentic Chinese restaurants, the service was lackluster. After we sat down, we weren't given a sheet to order from and we did not know who our server was. Although we tried to make eye contact to flag someone down, we were told to wait and it took us 45 minutes just to get someone to take our order. We went for dim sum and LOVED the food we got. Turnip cakes, brisket noodles, piggy buns and a veggie dish I can't remember any more. We didn't realize how large the servings would be so it was way too much for the two of us, but it was delicious and I can't wait to go back to Boston to have it again. Also there is a lovely massage place next door (on the right) where we had the best foot massage ever. Great way to reward yourself for walking all over the city. read more

My partner and I got dim sum: T2 shrimp & chive dumplings, T19 molten egg yolk sesame balls, T23 fried dough noodle rolls, T29 brisket beef w noodle rolls on sizzling plate, T31 fried turnip cakes w XO sauce, T46 molten egg yolk buns, T49 red bean piggy bun, T56 egg tart, T63 honeycomb ox trip in satay sauce, T61 osmanthus crystal cake, and tea - TASTE: 4/5 - highlights included the fatty beef brisket, turnip cake's salty XO sauce, and sesame balls' sweet egg yolk. Wouldn't get the shrimp & chive dumplings next time, twas just okay. Would come back for more dim sum! TEXTURE: 5/5 - wow, nailed all the textures. Loved the combo of molten yolk and chewy glutinous rice flour in the sesame balls, and fried dough rice rolls always hit the spot. Never had the brisket's rice rolls on a sizzling plate before, or lo bak go turnip cakes cut up in cubes, then fried, before -- both were amazing PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal came to $80 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - definitely ordered more than we thought for two people haha, we left so full SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 12:45pm on a Friday and the space was busier than I expected w almost all of the tables full. ordered pick-up and my only qualm is not getting any kind of sauce with our dim sum. otherwise, delicious piping hot dumplings. love that i can get dim sum (a brunch food) at 9pm on a saturday night. wish they didn't run out of rice noodle roll options so hope they anticipate that more in the future. my order was ready in like 7 minutes. i'll be back to dine in and try more. read more

I first discovered Dynasty Restaurant through a Yelp event, and ever since then, I've found myself coming back for more -- a handful of times, in fact. My most recent visit was just last week. After a long day, my gf and I stopped for dinner around 9:30 pm and, as always, were quickly seated and greeted with a pot of their delicious green tea. I've never really been much of a tea person, but there's something about *this* tea that I actually look forward to every time. To start, we ordered the shrimp dumplings, which were absolutely delicious and among the best I've had. For the mains, we shared the stir-fried string beans with pork, which were solid, but the real highlight was the seafood in XO sauce. The fried tofu in the dish is incredible -- I seriously can't get enough of it. The fresh seafood (octopus, scallops, squid, shrimp) is cooked to perfection, making it one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. I'm completely obsessed with it, and I can't recommend it enough. Pair it with some white rice, and you've got a meal that never disappoints. I'm happy to write my 100th review for Dynasty, which has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Boston for authentic Chinese food. This place is a true gem in Chinatown! read more

My friend recommended we try this place out and it did not disappoint. Everything came out piping hot! Stir Fried Rice Noddle W/Xo Sauce - the rice noodles came out mushy rather than crispy. I wish it was stir fried a little longer. The flavor was good. Chicken With Salted Fish & Eggplant - this was very good! It was the perfect amount of flavor from the salted fish and the sauce. Steam Shrimp Ball W/Fish Roe - this was a little bland so I wish it came with a sauce to dip it in. It had a good amount of shrimp and would recommend if you're coming for dim sum. read more

Came here on a Sunday around 11AM and luckily didn't have to wait! We got a variety of dim sum items including congee, shrimp dumplings, turnip cakes, and more! The shrimp pieces were quite large and juicy, and the items were hot. My least favorite items were the quail egg dumpling (it was quite hard), and the minion buns (not much filling inside). The truffle dumplings also didn't have a strong truffle taste. My fave were these chive dumplings - crispy and delicious! The turnip cakes were also smooth and soft. Ambiance is nice, new, and clean. Came here for some late night Dim Sum and had an okay experience. The waiter seemed very nice but the food quality seemed mediocre. We got many of our dim sum favorites like siu mai, spareribs in black bean sauce, buns, etc. But everything was either tasteless or kind of cold. The spareribs in black bean sauce had basically no black bean and they also forgot we ordered it. We ended up waiting a long time for it. The siu mai, feng zhao & veggies were lacking flavor. This restaurant checks the boxes if you're craving some late night food (that isn't fast food), but nothing to write home about. read more

A good addition to Chinatowns already solid lineup of Chinese food. While Dynasty won't reinvent the game, what they specialize in they do a fantastic job at - traditional Chinese food with the added bonus of all day dim sum. There wasn't a single dish that I didn't enjoy! The Peking Duck was definitely a standout out though crispy duck, flavorful skin, just everything you imagine a fantastic Peking Duck to be. read more

Are there any Vegetarian dishes to recommend here?
I loved the fried dough rice noodle rolls and molten egg yolk sesame balls. I also enjoyed the scallion noodle rolls, custard rolls, and red bean minion buns. The steamed vegetables were a little boring. My review has pictures of those dishes!
Is dim sum available for dinner?
I was in there the other night having a Chow Foon and brisket soup which was absolutely delicious and I believe they said they stop dim sum at 2 PM and they have it every day
