Deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion - this is a wonderful business that provides AMAZING results! I do not often write reviews, but after the exceptional service I received at Dynamic Computer I feel compelled to do so. Recently my PC crashed, and after leaving it for 3 days at another local shop with no luck of even recovering my data (so stressful!), I went with a friend's recommendation and took the PC to this shop instead. SO glad I did and am so thankful for the services that Singh provided - my only regret is not bringing it to him in the first place! The prior place told me my data was not recoverable so I thought I lost everything, but Singh recovered it within a few minutes of me walking into the store - I was so relieved! Turns out, my hard drive was encrypted and somehow got corrupted: but Singh knew exactly what to do to get my data back. In the end, he installed a new hard drive and restored & backed up all my data within 24 hours - all for an incredibly reasonable price. Singh was patient answering all my questions, and helped me set up my computer for scheduled backups going forward. If you are searching for a professional to work on your computer, look no further! Forget all those other places that dangle service plans and other garbage in your face - those are such a waste of time and money! These guys are awesome! I have a HP dv4, and after foolishly kicking it off my bed by accident, it totally shut down and wouldn't boot. I took it in, Mr. Singh looked at it for fifteen minutes, explained everything he was doing to me, and told me what he thought the problem was. I had it under warranty at Best Buy, so I took it there, with the promise that if I came back to Dynamic, he would take the $30 diagnostic fee off any work I needed done. Come to two weeks later, my computer is STILL not working and the yahoos at best buy are totally bewildered. After a few aggressive phone calls I picked my computer up and took it back to Mr. Singh. Two days later, I have it back, working better than ever. They re-installed windows on my hard drive, backed up all my data, and only charged me 90 dollars. Best Buy charged me 150 JUST for a data backup, which STILL failed because they couldn't do it correctly. The guys at dynamic are fabulous, they explain everything to you in clear terms, they're honest with you about what they can do, what you need, how much you should spend, and they charge way less than any other place around. I came in late one Saturday morning with a non-functioning laptop. Singh, the owner, interrupted what he was doing, diagnosed the problem immediately - a broken disc drive - and installed a new solid state drive as I stood there. Then he scanned my broken drive and restored almost all my files over the next two hours. When I picked the machine up, he charged me a very reasonable price and told me I could bring it back for a more complete scan for missing files if needed. I restored all the still-missing files over the next two weeks from a backup, except for one vital file I'd been working on an hour before the crash and had neglected to backup. I dropped in on Singh the next Saturday morning and, within minutes, he had found my last missing files and restored it - for NO charge. Singh is personable, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and competent. And quick! He gets my highest recommendation. Don't hesitate to go to him and don't be put off by the appearance of his shop. I was riding my bike home from work and had to stop short to avoid getting creamed by a car door. This happened to make me look up and see the Dynamic Computers sign, which was fortunate because my computer needed someone to fix it. I looked up a couple of reviews and decided to give it a whirl. Mr. Singh was extremely personable, knowlegeable, and got my computer back to me the next day for a very reasonable price (I dropped it off at 5:45pm the day before). I appreciated that he explained what the problem had been and what he had done to fix it. I am by no means a computer guru, and it was great that he explained it to me simply, though without making me feel like a dimwit. I would- and have reccommended him to other people. Perhaps the best computer repair shop in Massachusetts. I recently walked in, out of the blue, with a severely damaged computer. Both the main hard drive and the back up hard drive were physically damaged, and a small cluster of LEDs were broken, resulting in a small black spot in the middle of the monitor. I was warmly greeted by Singh and his team, who diagnosed the laptop's condition in minutes, and then offered me several repair options, guiding me as to which were the most expensive and which were the most effective. They promised me a speedy repair at a good price. True to their word, the next day I received a phone call telling me that the repair was complete and at a reasonable price. I would gladly recommend Dynamic Computers to anyone, and will absolutely go back if I ever have any more problems. read more

My business, personal and professional relies heavily on my computer. All of a sudden it simply shutdown and would not boot. I suspected a hard drive failure and tried to re-seat the drive with no success. I worried about a motherboard failure and mostly that I could not get work done. I was dead in the water! I called Dynamic Computers and spoke to Singh. On the same day I stopped into his lab. He diagnosed the problem and worked his "magic". I'm a software engineer and well-versed with computers and laptops. He blew me away in a matter of a half hour as I waited. I was very happy with Gagan's service and with the way he dealt with me. My laptop screen was going blank when I had it pitched at right angles. He at first thought I would need a new screen, and he showed me the part that would need to be replaced and how its edge could be at fault. Today he called me back, and said I might need a new screen, but that i could pick up the existing laptop today since I would need it for this weekend. When he put it back together and adjusted the seating of a connector, he found that it was working fine for the time being. He told me to try it out for a while and let him know if he would need to order the new part after all. No charge. I presume he realizes that I'll be back again when I have my next problem. The technical expertise were clear at every discussion of options, and yet the personal attentiveness, availability, and kindness were what struck me most, as one mostly doesn't expect that in these days of impersonal commerce. My original fix was quick and easy, and priced very reasonably. When I brought my laptop in for a separate repair down the road, the repair was going to be lengthy due to a difficult part to get promptly, so they sourced a certified refurbished item to expedite the process at a vastly reduced cost to me! Singh is AWESOME! I have a three year old HP laptop that was still working pretty well. It all of a sudden started to freeze every time I turned it on so after seeing all the great reviews about Dynamic Computers I decided to take my chances...and I'm glad I did. I had a corrupted file on my computer and Singh was able to back up all of my data, wipe my computer clean and put my data back on the computer with it now working like NEW. I first went to Best Buy to fix the screen on my laptop. After 2 weeks they called to tell me that they had to replace the screen, the video chip and that it would cost $1,100. It took another week to get back, unfixed. At Dynamic Computers I told them my problem and the guy found a new screen in a day for only $230, however, he also realized that I DIDN'T need a new screen that it was only a wire problem and fixed it all up in another day and only charged me $60. Dynamic Computers is run by a knowledgable man who is more than fair with his pricing and quite willing to share his knowledge. Explaining what is wrong and suggesting solutions that cost less than those other merchants would offer, is his stock in trade. Dynamic Computers is amazing. Other stores told me over the phone that it could cost up to $450 to replace my Macbook Pro laptop screen, which appeared to be dying. I called Dynamic Computers, and they gave me a quote for nearly half that amount, so I decided to give them a shot. When I walked into their store, one of the computer techs fixed my screen in less than four seconds, and didn't charge me a single cent! My lenovo laptop which was under warranty had failing keyboard problems plus the charging port was no longer working. Because I could not afford to be without my computer for an unknown period of time if I went through the warranty repair process Singh ordered the new keyboard part for me and had it installed within 2 hours. When I brought it back a few weeks later with the charging port problem, he put in a new port and had it working within 2 days. I can't recommend his work highly enough. read more

This place doesn't look impressive from outside, but it's definitely a local gem. I brought a MacBook Air to the large Apple- certified retailer in Cambridge. They told me that it needed a new motherboard and the parts and service would cost more than $600. I brought the laptop to Dynamic to wipe the data. Instead, the repairman/proprietor diagnosed the problem as a keyboard short and fixed the computer for $200. Dynamic will be my first stop in the future. read more

My printer broke and was not fixable. saw Gagan. He recommended a certain Brothers printer. I finally found one. Called Gagan and asked him to come to my house to set it up. He came set it up in 10 minutes. while there I asked him if he could set up my iPad so I could print from my iPad. Set it up in five minutes. Couldn't be happier with the Brothers Pinter and I just love being able to print from my iPad. His charge was very reasonable. read more
