I'm not too familiar with av stuff since my last stereo was back in 1976 so it's all gotten complicated to me. he gave me great advice and was always available when i contacted him. I joined YELP just to leave this review. Angel & the guys @ SD&I are the best -- responsive, informed, capable, responsible, and fair. Working with Angel and the crew was a fantastic experience. Completely exceeded my expectations. I am the guy who small businesses like SD&I dread. I research online reviews and try to test product to the point I become paralyzed with indecision. I talk myself into and out of multiple different options and designs. Throughout my process, Angel was patient with me, appropriately consultative, and helped me get to the outcome he knew I wanted even before I could see it. When my wife and I decided to finish our basement, we had an opportunity to wire the basement and main floor of our house with a clean and integrated look. As much as possible, we wanted all wires hidden behind walls and clunky equipment concealed. For the living room Angel recommended a 2.1 system with capability to drive the subtle and nuanced sound from a turntable as well as the booming explosions from a 4K action flick. In the basement, we went with a 5.1 system that also balanced musicality with the power for a dramatic viewing experience. As required, the wiring was concealed and tucked away for a supremely clean and tight appearance. Throughout the design, product selection, and installation process, Angel was there to guide things along. He consulted, recommended, and sold me various pieces, but integrated existing product I had on hand as well as the Anthem MRX 520 receiver I insisted upon getting brand new for the living room. Attention to detail was exceptional -- although my existing speakers required bi-wired connections, the new speakers I purchased did not, and Angel and his crew nailed the installation perfectly. Attention to detail was also reflected in the recommendations for speaker cable featuring great access and prices to very nice Audioquest speaker and HDMI cables. I'm so glad he convinced me to go with the JL Audio Gotham Subwoofer -- I knew it would shake the house during movies, but I didn't realize it had the subtlety to enhance a John Coltraine's, A Love Supreme on vinyl. Testing out the final product was the best part of the process. Angel and his crew spent a while with me dialing in the room correction software and receiver adjustment process. My musical taste is a bit eccentric and I think the guys from SD&I were a bit underwhelmed with the initial test tracks I selected. When I finally played Keep Your Name by Dirty Projectors, the house came down... This review is way overdue, but Angel, his wife, and the crew at SD&I deserve it. Whether you're completely new to the world of AV and just want a proper hookup for a new TV & speakers/soundbar or you're a moderate hobbyist like me, and want to geek out over sound or picture, Angel and SD&I will have you covered. I am sorry to have to leave this review, but I do think it's important for people to be aware of our experience. We reached out to SDI to get a quote for a project in our backyard. The response was quick and professional, and someone scheduled a time to come look at our property and discuss the project with us. He showed up on time and spent a lot of time talking to us, walking our property, and taking notes. Then he fell off the face of the earth. I followed up repeatedly to ask for status and he promised a few times to follow up but never did. If the project wasn't right for SDI that's of course fine, and if for whatever reason he wasn't going to be able to work with us that too is fine. But the failure to have the courtesy to let us know, or send a quick one sentence email, is so unprofessional. A complete waste of our time and utterly unprofessional. read more

I had a great experience with SDI. We had Sonos speakers installed in our ceilings throughout the house and also had our TV mounted above the fireplace. We were lucky to get matched up with Dylan (make sure you request him) who was amazing. He always showed up on time, even brought his own boot coverings as a courtesy to keep our floors clean. He was honest and transparent, explaining everything he was going to do before he started. He also measured 3 times before cutting or drilling. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism of Angel and Alexa at SDI and their whole crew. We were building a brand new home and installed audio throughout the house, a whole house smart system and much more. Starting from their in person meeting and taking the time to explain the very complicated options in a very simple manner was just the first step in a series of being impressed. I recently used SDI to install in-wall and in-ceiling speakers in my new house, in the living room, kitchen, and media room. Angel came out promptly to give me an estimate, and they were able to install within a week. The house is brand-new, so I was very concerned about avoiding wall damage. I had a 5.1 surround system put in two different rooms, and in-wall speakers for the kitchen. We discussed placement options, speaker options, and I found Angel to be knowledgable and responsive. He was more than happy to use my pre-existing subwoofer amplifier, and there was no pressure to do more ,or buy more than I was looking for. Angel and his team came in and assessed what was done and did a great job completing the job. We were hoping to use someone who could use as much of the prior work and not simply start over. After I spent some time researching and trying out different TV and Home Theatre installation companies with quite a few failed attempts, I had finally stumbled upon Systems Design and Integration and I'm so happy that I did. Angel was very responsive from the first day that I reached out to him. He had returned my call within two minutes and was quick to set up a consultation appointment the same week! He arrived on time and was very informative as to what components I needed so I can purchase them online. His quote was very reasonable and better than any of the quotes that I had received from other companies. Another great thing to add is that he stands by his products. I had bought a switcher from him and it was acting up a few weeks after installation (due to my Blu-Ray player). I then contacted Angel again and he was very responsive and came back to my place to determine that the problem was. We had thought the problem was fixed but then later realized that the switcher was the issue so he exchanged it and installed a new switcher. I can not begin to thank SDI. To give a little background. I moved my office from basement to upstairs. I wanted to keep my router where it was as my son would have his desk there and run CAT 6 to upstairs bedroom. This information was suggested to me, I do not know exactly what this entails, but it sounded reasonable. I called an electrician who came and looked it over and said no problem. But sent one of his guys to do the job, as I reviewed it with him he looked so overwhelmed and said he had to discuss with boss, never heard from him again. Another electrician never sent quote on the job for me. One day I am googling install cat 6 and SDI pops up. I think why not give them a try. I send an e-mail and Alexa in the office immediately responds to me with yes we can do that. I'm still reluctant as I've been told that before. I set up appointment with Angel who comes over within days and looks over everything thoroughly and says they can do job. He reviews a few ideas and says he will have a quote over to me. Quote comes and it was so reasonable I hired them immediately. Ray and Tony come to do the job. They are the nicest gentlemen. Again reviewed everything they were going to do. There was concern on their end that a few holes were needed and they communicated it to me and I expected it. Told me exactly where the wires were going and how they were doing it. It was a tough job, they were there for several hours on a Friday. The left everything neat and clean too. I would highly recommend SDI!! read more
