In September 2020 Elios Electric installed an outlet to charge a Tesla for about half what two other firms quoted. The installation was a bit tricky because it required drilling through a brick wall. I also asked him to stop drilling for about 40 mins while my wife taught an online class -- kind of an outrageous request b/c I had said this time for the installation would work for me. He said no problem. The outlet looks spiffy on the exterior of my house, very trim and tidy. Thank you Elios. It's been impossible for me to even get an electrician to respond to my calls over the past few years. Assuming these professionals were all only interested in large commercial jobs, I was about to give up, when I decided to do a search on Yelp. Took a chance with Elios Electric since they had fantastic, perfect, 5-star reviews. Matt replied to my email almost immediately, came out the next day, and had the job done the following day. My aging hard-wired smoke detectors (21 yrs. old) were expertly replaced with brand new hard-wired Combo Photoelectric Smoke & Carbon Monoxide units. Now I don't have to worry about false alarms, like when the old system went off whenever I cooked. Matt took care of a couple of other small issues while here. He was very professional and courteous. In the process of selling my condo, the buyer's inspector said we had some live knob and tube wiring even though the electrical system had been upgraded. I saw that Elios had good reviews on Yelp so gave them a call to get an informed opinion. Matt is a master electrician who works as a team with Rachel who returned my call to set up an appointment the next day. She gave me a two hour window, but said that would be narrowed as they worked and she would keep me informed. Sure enough she texted approximate arrival time about an hour beforehand and then again when they were two minutes away. Matt went right to work and was very knowledgeable and informative about the knob and tube issue. While he was looking at the electrical panel he also identified some minor problems and quickly fixed them. I have had a difficult time finding a good electrician, but I think my search is over. Matt and Rachel were able to fit me into their busy schedule to replace two kitchen overhead light fixtures. What we all assumed would be an easy 1-2 hour job turned into much more than that, as Matt discovered serious safety issues in work others had done previously. We had another great experience with Elios that I need to Yelp about. Yesterday's powerful thunderstorm blew out an outlet in our living room that connected to the TV, cable, Internet, and stereo. Fortunately we didn't lose any equipment. While the plug was fried, it kept making a loud popping noise. Even though Matt and Rachel had a long, busy day with all of the other people affected by the storm, because they thought our situation could possibly be unsafe they made time for us and came over within a couple of hours of calling. Turned out to be a good call because the wires were overheating and could have led to a fire. I had some dimmer switches kept making noises so I contacted them. They are very professional. They asked me a couple questions to make sure they understand what's actually going on. And when they came they already brought everything they need to fix my switches. Matt is great at problem solving. He figured out the best spot to add an outlet for the safety feature of our new hot water heater at the first try and tested all the breakers before closing the panel. Then we told him that a bunch of outlets in the master bedroom and bathroom were not working. As he went around testing and looking for gfci outlets in the kitchen, all of sudden every problematic outlet worked. All because he pressed the Reset button on the gfci outlet in the other bathroom. Matt and Rachel rewired our kitchen in preparation for a replacement dishwasher. It was easy to get to them, and they are very helpful, friendly and pleasant. In addition, their price is very reasonable. I had had a quote from another company, who wanted me to pay them as much money as the dishwasher itself, which did not make sense. Matt and Rachel work together very well. They really enjoy what they are doing. I can also say that they go extra mile for their clients. In my case, they offer to come back to check if the installer of the dishwasher has connected the machine. They also helped me to find wiring problem in my kitchen. Matt was recommended to us and I cannot say enough good things about Matt and his team! We needed to rewire our house after moving in and finding the electrical work hadn't been touched since 1920 (ughhh). He expertly rewired all of the plugs, outlets, lights, switches, as well as reconstructed the infrastructure so that the electrical is up to today's code and is easy to follow/build off of in the future. He had to play detective as the wiring was very mixed (the refrigerator, hallways, living room, and upstairs bathroom were all connected on the same circuit!). The team was very open about what needed to be done and the time needed to do it, providing updates at the end of each day. Matt consistently went above and beyond to ensure the job was done properly at every step and that the wiring in our home is safe and to code. Everyone was extremely respectful and courteous. Matt was also really great at making sure to do as little damage to the home in the process as possible - which is challenging given we're dealing with old plaster and lath. He even patched up the small, neat holes he did create to run wiring and vacuumed up every day. Prices were really fair as well (we had a friend who works with electricians regularly confirm this). Matt provided a detailed estimate beforehand that accurately outlined what we agreed upon during our initial conversation. He also was very flexible with adjusting the quote and work as we added more items into the to do list. Matt is just great to work with! We have eight smoke detectors, wired together with battery backups. They all started chirping, changing the batteries did not help, and the detectors all needed to be replaced. Elios Electric didn't have any appointment openings, but I think they heard the chirping smoke detectors in the background over the phone and they took pity on me. They changed out the smoke detectors to better models, tested them all, and we now have a quiet house. Elios Electric are very professional folks. Highly recommend them. This is my second glowing review for this site, because I asked Matt to come back to my house to mount and wire up a new HD smart TV on a wall in my bedroom. He did a fantastic job, and he remained with me until I learned how to use the remotes for the TV. My old TV was an old tube clunker, and I had never before operated a smart TV. We needed to upgrade our electrical service to 200amps but had a bit of a snag where we also needed to get the electrical service to our house raised up higher to meet code. Other companies didn't want the hassle of that extra snag or were estimating way to much and needed to involve other contractors. Elios electric not only were able to do the work for a reasonable price, but they were able to get it all done without outside help and make it look great! We also had them install a bathroom fan for us with some non-standard requirements (needed to run the vent pipe through a crawlspace and through part of the garage) and it was no problem for them. Great experience. I wanted to replace my (buzzing) 30-year-old kitchen fluorescents with LED. They came by to look for free, sent me off to choose a fixture (they offered they could pick one out too, but I'm happy going to Home Depot and looking at stuff myself), and we scheduled an install for a couple of weeks later.
