Our electricity was flickering in an unpredictable pattern, with some outlets/switches on the same circuit working while others didn't. Finally, the power failed utterly to the problem circuits. Markarian sent Brandon Hill over in 15 minutes -- yes, FIFTEEN. He listened carefully to our description, gave his opinion that it was a utility problem, but that he would test for other possibilities first. After testing some of the circuits, he gave his hypothesis that we were having a phase problem: one of the two lines into the house was not supplying enough voltage. He tested the meter outside, showed us the low voltage on one line, and explained how the lines feed the circuits in a pattern that would cause the unpredictable outages. He also took pictures. He stood by while we called Eversource to make sure that we could answer all their questions. From initial call to final diagnosis, everyone at Markarian was efficient, courteous, and helpful. Brandon was friendly, professional, and easy to talk to and understand. I would recommend Markarian without hesitation. read more

Charged me around $3,500 for a job that took around 3.5 hours and still wasn't right.

I reached out last week to get an estimate for some electrical work in my home, including installing two hanging lights, replacing five socket covers, and checking the power system in my electric fireplace. An appointment was immediately scheduled and on the day of the estimate, Ryan from Markarian Electric texted me to confirm his arrival and showed up right on time. He was friendly, professional, and efficient throughout the visit. Ryan took the time to walk me through each item in detail, helping me understand my options and decide what I might want to move forward with now or in the future. He clearly explained the pricing and provided straightforward estimates for each task. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for his work really stood out. I felt confident in his expertise and honesty, which is why I'm now considering moving forward with some larger projects. I highly recommend Ryan from Markarian Electric for any electrical job--big or small. read more

I have been working with Eric and the team at Markarian Electric on a very large project for about 6 weeks. Their team has been nothing but pros in all of the interactions. They work to provide additional services above and beyond other estimates that I receive. It is not just about the lowest bid with the Markarian team, it is helping us to understand the process. read more

Cris Mulling is a very experienced, helpful, and friendly technician. He completely repaired the problem I was having.

Juan was knowledgeable, timely and professional in assessing my project needs and providing an estimate. the office got back to me within the day to schedule an appointment for the work to get completed the following week. read more

Above and beyond expectation. We were faced with a massive renovation in our 1925 Spanish home. Shaun and his team were the most competent and experienced out of all the dozens of workers coming in and out. The service provided went well beyond just aesthetic. Shaun Clifford's vast knowledge as a contractor, electrician and his work ethic in support of his clients is really impressive. Markarian Electric is the only company I will deal with from this point forward. Thank you Shaun and team. Carl G read more

We could not be more pleased with our experience with Markarian, and with Juan. Scheduling the initial estimate was easy. Juan evaluated our needs, and expedited the service request to meet our schedule. He and his assistant arrived on time, worked efficiently and left our home in excellent shape. They replaced fluorescent fixtures with LED lighting in our basement and two walk-in closets, and we are very pleased with the result. read more

Chris responded to my request for services quickly. He was very attentive to the problem and explained how he would resolve the problem. The work was done well at a reasonable price. I am very happy with the result. Great quality, great value. read more

We had a great experience with Markarian installing baseboard heating in a basement room this winter. Scheduling and communication were easy and timely. Juan and his assistant arrived right on time and completed the job in just a couple of hours. They were very friendly and knowledgable. Everything was left as clean as when they arrived. I will definitely recommend them to others and call them again for future work! read more

Cris was great! He quickly identified the source of our electrical issue and solved the problem with our bedroom light switch. I'd happily use Markarian in the future! read more

This review is specifically for Brandon at Markarian. I've worked with Brandon on several electrical projects, including a huge, whole-house electrical upgrade on a 120 year old house. He does great work, shows up on time, and manages his crew very professionally. In addition, Brandon is probably the most responsive contractor I've ever worked with. He always answers his phone/texts and provides clear answers to any questions. That's rare! I'll continue to use Brandon for all my electrical project needs. read more

Juan M. was great. He and his partner Joe showed up right on time and were not only friendly but super efficient and accommodating. He explained what he was doing and they did their work professionally. They were great and easy to deal with. read more

This review is to compliment Jerson Torres and Reiver Diaz on the excellent installation of three ceiling fans in our home today. This is our second time using Markarian Electric, and once again, we were very pleased! Jerson and Reiver were professional, courteous, and efficient! It was obvious they were skilled, proficient and an effective team. Thank you, Jerson and Reiver; you are an asset to the team at Markarian Electric! Sincerely, Kathy S. read more

Easy to book with. Even when scheduling got complicated for unforeseeable circumstances, they were able to quickly adjust plan and were accommodating. Received an estimate quickly and was able to do most things electronically which was convenient. Installation team was polite and professional. read more

Markarian is a good, reliable company. They communicate pretty well and they have fair prices. I recommend them.

I was really impressed with the fact that this company has been around for 20+ years and they do more than just solar. I checked out reviews on other sites like angies list and found 179 positive reviews so I felt comfortable moving forward. The service was prompt and professional and not pushy. The installation was really quick and they went above and beyond for me to get it in as fast as possible so I could qualify for the SREC program. I will definitely be using them again and felt they deserved a 5 start review read more

This is our first time working with Markarian and technician Jonathan R. was great and easy to talk with about our needs. We have not even started the actual work that needs to be done (light install, replacing switches, and more), but he was helpful from the get-go, sharing information about what he noticed. Markarian is lucky to have him, and I hope we can count on Markarian for servicing and installs as we work to maintain our home. read more

We had our alarm inspected in March, right before everything shut down for Covid. Unfortunately some of our alarms weren't working. They weren't able to come back until late May, but when they did the gentleman was very thorough with the testing and fixes he had to do. Ultimately, he was able to help save us almost 1k as well. He was very safe as well with a mask, shoe booties, and gloves. Very happy with this service! read more

I used Markarian Electric to inspect my home as part of an energy audit and subsequently have electrical work performed. Initially I was interested in taking advantage of the state's MassSave energy efficiency program and component to that I required a licensed electrical contractor to inspect several parts of my home. I called Markarian Electric and was able to set up an appointment with Eric who came by in short order (a couple of days). I found him to be thorough, explanatory and overall highly professional. In addition to an inspection he and I were able to develop a list of potential work orders which I found useful if in the future I decided to pursue supplementary work or upgrades. Subsequent to that I set up an appointment with Markarian to perform several upgrades in my home. I found the team that arrived to, again, be friendly and professional and they completed the work scope on time and with minimal interruption or nuisance. Additionally, I was able to visit Markarian's Watertown office where the staff were able to clear up all questions or concerns I might have had. In the spirit of even-handedness I would like to capture some feedback that I think prevents me from giving them a five-star review. We did have some communication issues which delayed the start of work but it never became untenable. Additionally, while the team that performed upgrades were capable I wish they would've taken the time to walk me through the completion of their work more fully. Finally, I found Markarian to be a bit more expensive than contractors I've used in the past. Overall I'd recommend Markarian Electric and use their services in the future. read more

Had a good experience the first time around. We lived in a condo and they installed some recessed lighting for around $1,200 and it came out great. Fast forward to a new home we moved to and they charged us $650 to change a few wall switches and wanted $500 to move an outlet 4ft above its original location. Had another electrician do it for $125. Good work, but much better prices await you elsewhere for the same quality work. read more

Markarian is very professional and communicative. They give written estimates, and while they ask for payment in advance, I like their fixed price model. They are very responsive (I have never waited more that 2 days for an appointment) and show up on time. The electricians were courteous and considerate. If I see a shortfall, it is the level of expertise they bring. I had my main electric panel replaced - it took 3 visits because they did not assess the job properly. Took more of their time and mine, although they honored their original price. read more

Eric and company are incredibly easy to deal with and tech-savvy. I found them to be responsive when I scheduled appointments, and they send out texts when they are on their way, which means you aren't put in the "Comcast Zone" of having to stay at home all day waiting. And you ask -- they have may good manners, but how is their work? Excellent. I had several companies come to our home to give estimates for installing a bathroom fan. Our bathroom layout was weird, and other people I called in the past looked at the bathroom and said they couldn't do anything and we were doomed to moldy walls and lingering odors for the rest of our lives. (Well, they didn't say we were doomed, but they may as well have.) But Eric said his guys could do it, and lo and behold, they did. He warned us that it would take time and that it would be expensive, but based on estimates I had for work by other electricians, the cost was actually reasonable. I recommend them, especially for jobs that leave other people stumped. read more

Easy to work with and schedule. Quality work delivered in a timely fashion. Friendly technician and clean worksite. The time to get an appointment for a non emergency item was very reasonable. They were also reliable....said I would receive a notification when en route and I did. They were on time and reliable. The downside (maybe upside sometimes) is that they charge by the job. For a small job, you may end up paying substantially more than an hourly rate. The estimate is your cost no matter how long it actually takes for them to do the job. No flexibility on price after it is agreed on. For a large job, I am sure that there is scale to be had in the event of then running into complexity on the way. You know what your max is. For a small job, you are locked in even if the job runs quicker than expected. In summary....easy to schedule, quality work, there are more cost effective alternatives if that is what you need. read more

Although there were glitches in scheduling the work and the electrician arrived almost two hours late, he was so polite and did skilled, thorough work, thus the five stars. Also, the membership saved us a lot on the work. read more

The Markarian team were wonderful and made short work of a somewhat tricky job. While on the surface a service upgrade and EV Charger installation seems straightforward, some things conspired on our property to make it complicated. Nonetheless the Markarian team got the job done professionally and promptly. read more

I have used Markarian at multiple properties. I always find them to be fair and responsive to my needs.

I hired Markarian Electric on two different occasions to install new lighting in my condo. I was very happy with their service in both instances. They do excellent work and the price was very reasonable! I had a problem and they were here in I think 15 minutes. The owner came and he was so nice and honest and did a fantastic job! I'm so glad I found them instead of using someone else. I'm telling everyone how great they are. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed with Markarian Electric. They responded to my email inquiry within an hour or so, which I especially appreciated because it was for a number of small things rather than a big job. I was able to get an appointment for an estimate the next day. Technician Chris was on time, considerate, masked and professional. After showing him the items we needed to address he was able to give me a reasonable and fair estimate in less than 30 minutes, and to perform most of the work same day. He was able to fix one item that two previous people could not figure out. We highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future. read more

Great experience. Jason came round to discuss the project and quote the work. Once we decided to go ahead, our job was promptly scheduled for two weeks later. On the day, Jason and his team arrived right on time and got to work. They did a great job, kept me posted with progress, and did a walkthrough afterwards to discuss minor points. Will use again. read more

Easy to work with. Good communication. Very neat; clean. Job done as expected. On time for each visit to our house.

These guys were nice enough, but gave a very high estimate. That I can pass on, but they actually did not even deliver the estimate when they said they would, a number of days late in fact and not without significant prodding. Then to make matters worse after they delivered the estimate they dropped off the earth and would not respond to phone or email to discuss or schedule. I was referred by a friend so was actually waiting on them to do the job and I ended up waiting a LONG time and making endless attempts to contact, which, how stupid of me to think that they would actually respond to a potential customer?! In the end I found someone else who quoted and did the job for about 1/4 of the insane price they quoted AND actually responded and showed up. If you consider probably 3 days work too small of a job then maybe ti was too small for them, but then maybe they should not be bidding on such jobs, and presenting themselves as operating an actual business. After their estimate I never did ever hear from them again although I tried repeatedly. Given that I never had the chance to let them know if I was an idiot or not I can only blame this on them being highly and annoyingly unprofessional and making me wait weeks. If you want to be overcharged and/or wait in futility for an imaginary electrician, hire this company. read more

This company is terrible. We moved into a new condo and this was the company that the developer used for sprinkler alarm service (presumably because they had some relationship or gave him a good installation price). Over 3 years of service I was never able to get someone on the phone to answer questions. Finally, after a significant billing mistake where they claimed we had not paid our annual bill from 2 years ago even though we had, I managed to speak with someone. She was a college student who for her summer internship was handling all of Markarian's billing and could barely use the software (not her fault). At that point I told her we would be canceling our account with them and a week or two later I finally got a call back from the owner trying to convince us to stay. After that call, despite his promises I have not been able to reach him again and we have not been refunded the $500 we are owed for prepaid service. On top of all that, I just received a bill from them saying we owe $1400 for this coming year, despite the fact that we cancelled our service and removed the boxes months ago. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I've used Markarian Electric a few times now and they are always prompt, reliable and their prices reasonable. They installed a new 200 amp service as well as some exterior lighting for me, but they also do security systems - advanced ones that you can get texts on your phone when someone opens your doors and they can also install programmable house systems so you adjust heat, lights and air from your computer or phone- very cool! read more
