With the caveat that it's difficult to schedule time with them (because they're so busy), I'd highly recommend Puccio Electric. I had a challenging wiring problem (undetectable via instrumentation due to metal in walls) that my first electrician refused to fix, but Puccio was able to resolve (although it took two visits). While at my home, I also had them address some minor issues (e.g., 1 outlet replaced, 1 junction upgraded to light switch) in addition to the main wiring problem. The team was friendly, professional and cleaned up after. They told me up front what their hourly rate was and warned me in advance what the total cost might be. The final bill reflected that rate/estimate (and minimal materials cost with expected hours) so I feel they are very honest. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are expensive (initial visit / 1st hour is about 300$, but less after that), but I can tell you that a good electrician is very hard to find and they are worth it. If you have an urgent problem or are on a tight budget, you may wish to look elsewhere, but if you want excellent electricians and are patient, use Puccio. read more

We had Puccio upgrade our electric service to 200 amps last year, along with some other minor work. John and his team were very communicative and responsive, and were able to provide us with a quote just from photos. The price seemed high but when we got additional quotes from other companies, Puccio was comparable or less expensive. They were able to schedule the work quickly (important since we were moving into a new home) and it was done incredibly fast in one day. Gotta give some public appreciation to John... I switched out a tiffany lamp for a more modern one in my kitchen. Worked awesome until I realized that the tiffany was controlled by a pull chain and the newly installed one needed a switch. Contacted Puccio by email with pictures and details; was contacted back very efficiently. Bottom line - because of the placement of the light fixture (within cabinetry), the cost to put in a switch was going to be very expensive. John patiently explained why and... it made total sense. He told me that if I still wanted to job done, he'd arrange for it but... instead he recommended that I aquire and install a simple blue-tooth switch. After hearing about my "weekend warrior" skills, he was confident that I could do the change-over quickly and safely. Then, he emailed me a link to the very device that he'd recommend I acquire. He gave me his time, his opinion, and the extra mile despite the fact that I did not become a customer.... yet... Puccio saved my butt! A tree fell on my power line damaging the external conduit to my meter (my terms are not to be trusted.... Puccio Electric will know all the correct terms!) leaving me without power (and with two young kids... not the tree's fault of course) in the middle of a heatwave! I spent an entire morning calling every electrician in the phonebook (yelp, duh) and after being given the estimate of 'weeks' by nearly every other company, John said he could take care of my issue in the next 24 hours. He sprang into action, his team finished on schedule, and I couldn't be happier with my result. John was kind, understanding, communicative and fair throughout the process. The electrician answered the phone! Someone actually answered the phone! I've called about 10 others and nobody answered their phone in the middle of a workday. Also, it was not a 3rd party. I got to speak to the actual electrician. Basics, right? John is efficient, friendly, prepared, and up-to-date on technology. I call him to install a light, which I thought would take him 2 minutes. Simple stuff. He set up an appointment on Google Calendar and said it would be helpful if I send pictures. So I emailed pictures to his very professional email account. Anddd... it turns out, due to the ancient wires, it would take a LOT more time and money to do it right (otherwise, risk a fire hazard). I decided not to install the light. We are in the midst of renovating our bathroom. I am pretty handy, and over the years have wired and/or rewired numerous switches, outlets and small appliances in the house. We bought a combined bathroom vent/heat lamp to replace the old ceiling vent, that I thought I could install and rewire myself. I soon learned I was in over my head and I needed a licensed electrician immediately, since the project had come to a standstill and couldn't proceed until the wiring was complete. Enter John Puccio of Puccio Electric, and his brother Tony. I had contacted a dozen or more electricians by phone or email, all of whom said they were booked for a week or more. But when John answered my call he understood the bind I was in and said he could move some jobs around and have Tony at my house later that afternoon. When Tony arrived, he assessed the situation and new appliance, called the manufacturer, and shared with me that it was a more complex project than either of us had initially imagined. But Tony immediately created an electrical plan and began digging in. He couldn't finish the work on day 1, but returned first thing the following morning. He knew how much of a perfectionist I am, and gave me options along the way of doing things the quick way or the long way. In the end, Tony's work was perfect. And as an added benefit, he allowed me to observe him while working, all the while answering my questions and sharing with me tips on electrical work. So glad I hired Puccio to install my Tesla Wall Connector! I called a number of electricians for quotes and John was the most responsive and right inline or lower than others in Eastern Massachusetts. The two guys from his team he sent to do the work were very professional and explained everything they would need to do before starting the job, and gave me various options on placement and finish work for the outdoor wall unit. Upon completion, they cleaned the entire work area (would never have known they were there!), and walked me through all the work that was done. Coincidentally, my washer/dryer unit had just bit the dust and I needed an additional 110 outlet installed in the laundry room to run the new washing machine. The wall connector install took less time than planned so they kindly installed the laundry room outlet even though it wasn't originally scheduled - saving me a time and the expense of an additional service call!
