Terrible attitude, limited selection, and overpriced items. If you're looking for all three, this is the place for you. It's disappointing that this store is one of the few options for bigger guys, yet falls so short in quality and service. I visited today with my brother, hoping to pick up a few items, but left feeling let down. As soon as we walked in, we were met with cold, unfriendly glares from the manager and Bianca. Just a few minutes into browsing, Bianca approached us with a half-hearted, unenthusiastic 'Can I help you with anything? I replied with we are just browsing and we received an eye roll from Bianca. After browsing for a bit, I had a question about specific items, but once again, I was met with Bianca's terrible attitude. We did manage to find a few items that fit my brother well, so we ended up purchasing them. We came in here with my sister in law. She bought something for my fiancé for Christmas. Got him shoes here. He wanted to exchange them because he doesn't like wearing Sketcher's anymore. He wanted a different brand. I had to use the bathroom very badly. I drink a lot of water and tea throughout the day to stay hydrated. I asked this lady that was folding t-shirt where the bathroom was. She didn't seem that interested in telling me, but she went ahead anyways. She kinda gave me an attitude. I'm like ok.... I went to find the restroom but got a little lost so I had to go back to ask her again. She looked pissed since she had to repeat herself. The guy that was helping my fiancé find shoes was nice though maybe because he was the manger. He had a nice attitude and helped my fiancé find the shoes he needed. The reason why I knocked down 2 stars is because of the lady with a bad attitude. She didn't seem like she wanted to work either. Ok lady, maybe you need to double check yourself. I would've gave this place a 5 stars because the guy helping us was very nice and genuine but the lady ruined the rating down. Parking is a big structure as it is home to a Island's Burger and other things. This place is inside the Irvine Marketplace, so there is tons of shopping places and food places. read more

I arrived at the store in hopes of getting pants and a belt for tonight's dinner. While in the store the advertising stated "Just find what you need" or to that affect. I found what I wanted, a nice light blue pair of slacks. "All slacks are 32" inseam" the rude associate stated. So she dragged me to the back corner and held up a black pair. I stated " I have something in mind, a little more like summer". She walked away. WTF! Ignoring her I went back and found a 28" inseam in the slacks, but not in the color I wanted. DXL makes shopping for clothes in my size easy and effortless. A great range of styles and designers, so you don't have to settle for whatever might be in stock. They can also do alterations, if necessary, to ensure the best fit possible. Also, the sales staff will ask if you need assistance and leave you to browse if you wish. Today I had the misfortune of being a "customer" at the store in Towson (store 09513). I went in to get a $50 gift card for my brother. When I arrived there were 2 customers ahead of me. No big deal. There were 2 people behind the counter but the man ignored the second customer and myself and made a phone call. He easily could have put that off and helped the person ahead of me. But he didn't. Instead, he made the call and ignored us. At this point the clerk rang up the first person and began helping the woman in front of me. Again, that's just fine. Now it was my turn. At this point another customer came into the store and immediately started talking to the female clerk (Katarah). Instead of helping me, she began to talk to the other customer while I just stood there trying to pay. They talked for a few minutes about clothing and the cashier just kept talking over me to the other customer as If I wasn't even there. It was obvious that neither of your employees cared to help me; the other customer apparently was more important than me. It's a good thing that I am not Big and Tall. I couldn't imagine giving DXL any of my business. Perhaps they should retrain these employees to care for every customer equally regardless of what they look like. read more

They sale designer merchandise. That's a good thing. They sale at designer prices. What they don't sale is designer service. They NEVER have boxes for your purchase. They always have some half baked excuse. Maybe they should hire a store manager from a designer store. It's ok to charge $110 for a Polo shirt that in normal sizes would cost $39 at Macy's. This is the second time I've been to this location shopping for my fiancé. First visit was back in July for a few items to take back East and we walked out with jeans, linen pants, 2 pair of shorts, and 5 shirts. Excellent service from multiple staff members - my fiancé is NOT a fan of clothes shopping and they made it painless for him. We came today to get him a suit for our wedding next month. I'm finally able to find shirts for my son who needs the longer shirts for tall guys. A great selection and we're usually able to find at least one item from their clearance section. The salesperson, Anna is the best! Very sweet, has great suggestions and will run and get you whatever you need while you're in the dressing room. I had my dad with me, and they had a great sitting area with a TV that he could enjoy while he waited. Anna was so so very thoughtful to offer him water - and she got us some too. She makes it such a great shopping experience! Also, on a totally unrelated side note for anyone interested. I love how this place smells! The air freshener they use smells wonderful. This is a brand new store located @ The Market Place. The store is in the same shopping center as Islands, On the Border etc. I must say there's plenty of brands to choose from - Lacoste, Polo, Oak Hill, Levis etc. Since the Casual Male XL store closed in Santa Ana, this is the closest store for me now. The store is well designed and organized which makes navigating easy. The fitting rooms are found in the middle of the store. You still need to find an associate to open the doors for you. I'm glad there were many associates who were available for the customers. The staff were professional, courteous, and willing to assist me. I visited the location in Rancho Cucamonga the other day and the belts I purchased were not the right size. This was my first visit to the Tustin location and let me say Jorge was phenomenal!!! He greeted me the moment I walked in the door and as he was coming back up from the storage area I had an inquiry. He stopped what he was doing and assisted me. The belt I needed was not on the shelf, he checked the back and didn't see it, but when he checked the computer he saw that there should be one in stock. He went back and tore the belt shelf apart (not literally) but low and behold he found it saving me a trip to Brea that would've been out of my way. This is my new go to place to shop for my dad. It is always a nightmare to look in regular stores for a 2XLT shirt for him. This has eliminated that frustration. They have tons of size options from xl-4x sized in regular, tall, and big depending where your big and tall guy lands. my dad happens to be big and tall but fits in a regular XL here. My step dad is just a big guy so his size in Big will be great. I am not able to one stop shop for these guys. They have a huge selection of types of clothes ranging from Suit and tie to Polos to skater to team gear. Plus they carry shoes in hard to find sizes. Ever tried to find a men's shoe in a 13? I have, not always an easy task, but this place makes it easy. Funny note: When separated for my dad I usually look for the big tall guy, this store made that a problem because they were all big and tall. Lol. read more

Michele is great. Every time I need anything, she is there. From a suit, jeans tailored(thanks Sal), to a new dress shirt. This place is better than Nordstrom's, and parking is easier. Finding clothes has been a challenge for me since I wore a size 15 at the age of 13. All of the other big and tall stores are more for the overly large man. Let me share the most recent experience. The new manager there has a horrible attitude. Do not bother buying something online and shipping to the store even if you spent close to $200. I bought 4 black plain polos that I needed for my brother for his new job. They where sent to the store because we needed then asap. I also ordered a Christmas gift. With the gift came a coupon $20 on us on anything. The manager could not and would not be bothered with it. She needs training aside from her horrible service she could have suggested another purchase in the store but no she brushed us off like dirty trash. Earth to you Dxl is overpriced I could have gotten real Ralph Lauren black Shirts for the same price with their online sale. Do you know you're job and store is not guaranteed to stay open? Sure you sell some good brands like Psycho bunny and True Religion that other stores don't that is your saving grace not your terrible customer service. Update 11/14/19 This was the worst shopping experience that I have ever had at any store period. I came in wanting to buy a suit and exchange a shirt for a different size. The place was empty and I received no assistance from anyone working here. The employees just BS'd among themselves the entire time talking about their scheduled hours this week. After walking around the store for 30 mins my wife and I decided to just return the shirt first exchange it. The lady at the check out asked me if I was sure since I would be loosing my $30 certificate. I told her yes since I wasn't able to find anything. I specifically said I wanted to buy a suit but didn't see anyone to help me. She didn't take the initiative to see if I wanted help at that time and proceeded with the return. I left the store, went to Mens Warehouse and spent over $1K USD on two suits. I was extremely happy with the service at Mens Warehouse and am very satisfied with my purchase. I will not be going to DXL again. FYI, the DXL commerce site is from the stone age and not user friendly. read more

Had a terrible experience at the DXL store in Irvine today! It was Sunday with a 50% off sale going on. I traveled to the store from Huntington Beach. I was fully prepared to buy some men's suits and maybe a sport coat. Bad experience. The store appeared to have only three staff on duty, a greeter, a cashier, and a salesperson. While the saleswoman (Michelle) was knowledgeable, she had to bounce around from customer to customer, in addition to helping the cashier out. The manager of this store is obviously not staffing the store properly. Plus they did not seem to have any suits (separates) in my size. I left in a haste - angry and frustrated. What a waste of my time. Back to Men's Wearhouse and Nordstrom's for me. Much better customer service. Don't recommend this store. read more

We went into the store for a suit for a wedding we are going to. Even though they were busy, Michelle continued to come over as she was in the middle of helping others to make sure we were alright. Once the store died down, she came over and gave us her undivided attention. Not only did she help us find the perfect suit and colors for my husband, she made sure that he would be matching my wedding outfit.
