    Turkey bacon avocado sandwich

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Once we entered the place it smelled amazing![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately the bagel didn't live up to the smell. For $30 we got 2 bagels which weren't very filling and a little lack luster with the flavor. Mine also was supposed to have avocado and I remembered too late to walk back and ask for it. I'm curious to try the bagels with just shmears because those weren't half bad. But otherwise it's a pass.

Well, I'm spoiled! Now I'll have to drive all the way to Durango, Colo for the best breakfast bagel ever! Located near the train station, the Durango Bagel was a Southwest breakfast bagel sandwich on a soft green chili bagel, with sausage and cheese all covered in an awesome schmeer. By the time we left, the line was out the door! Check it out when you're in town- highly recommended!

Quick service, friendly staff! Out of a handful of bagels by 11a on a Saturday. $10 for an egg, cheese meat bagel breakfast sandwich including cash discount.

Great bagels. A bit slow when busy but definitely worth it! Get the green chile bagel if they have any-- they're the best!

They've got some good bagels and coffee. My wife got a breakfast sandwich and loved it. Looks like they make the bagels there!

Loved our BLT sandwiches on garlic bagels, super tasty with crispy bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. On the pricey side though.

Bagels were at least 2 days old. Definitely not fresh. Don't go here. As a local there are so many better places.

Extremely over priced. $4 for a bagel and cream cheese? Ridiculous. Poor quality sandwich ingredients. As a local I won't be returning.

However, we had gone on its closing day and had some great tacos, salad, and ramen. Their birria is rich and meaty with a touch of cinnamon and was awesome as a ramen and taco. Service was efficient and drinks were cold. Guess I'm just writing this to keep my Yelp numbers up...

If you are a lover of well done birria, this is your place. Craving authentic Mexican food? Yep, this is your place. We started with their chips and salsa. I think you can tell a lot by the salsa at a place. Lemme just say, I was so very happy! Their salsa wasn't too chunky, not too thin and they are not afraid to season and add some heat - but hey, don't worry it wasn't too hot if you've got a dad like mine who isn't a fan of "too much spice." Such a good omen. I couldn't decide which marg to try so ordered a flight. Best decision ever. Even as I write this, I'm still hard pressed to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Add street tacos, quesadillas for my mom, elote cob, and switch fries for my dad and we were all happy campers. The flavors were obscenely good. Staff were amazing and stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of: fast and friendly. Best combo ever. The place is also super cute! Loved the bar and simplicity of the concept. Switchback has a quiet elegance while be so very casual. Perfect in my book.

what is there to say about this place?…read more i personally have never eaten anything here EXCEPT their bakery goods which were superb, best in town, hands down. Every morning they seem to have a wide selection of freshly baked pastries, good coffee, big smiles and a beautiful building. I have seen their breakfasts being delivered to tables and can say they look delicious but a big breakfast sends me straight back to bed... When i am in town.. i stop here every single time, always, without fail.

May 2026 My wife and…read moreI were visiting Durango for a few days. She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.
