It actually reminded me of a cafe I used to frequent in college. They make all their baked goods in house, it's tough to choose! You order at the counter and the line was long on a Saturday morning. They have a handwritten chalkboard menu behind the counter, but if you can't see it in line they have paper menus to grab at the register. The tough decisions arise when you get close to the pastry case. It's filled with delicious quiches, buns, and morning staples. I was intrigued by the quiches and they had a huge selection of them. I landed on the green chile and bacon (I think it was bacon?!) When I went to order I was hit with a question I wasn't prepared for. They asked me if I wanted it on a regular pie crust or a hashbrown crust. FTW?! I had never heard of such a thing. They said if I like potatoes then get the hashbrown crust...I'm so glad I trusted their recommendation! They indeed bake hashbrowns into the quiche and it acts as the crust. I don't know which crazy genius concocted this sorcery, but holy moly I love the ingenuity! I don't eat quiche that much and this one stood out. I'd definitely suggest the quiches to other people! A little chaotic inside on a weekend. You bus your own tables and the line gets narrow when you have constant foot traffic back and forth for picking up your order, going to the bathroom, etc. Staff was working hard though to move as quickly as they could. My son's iced black coffee was similarly strong, but served cold. he loved it and was wired for a good hour, so that was annoying. Lizzie was friendly and energetic; in the time it took to figure out our order and make it, she managed to learn a good portion of my life story. It felt like we were neighbors catching up over coffee. Will need to make time to go back and see if she will help me work through some childhood trauma My only complaint is that I have become accustomed to overpaying for low-quality coffee and poor customer service, often with a side of attitude. The proprietor is warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, and he makes a mean cup of coffee. There's also an eclectic selection of coffee mugs if you're looking for a unique souvenir to take home. Definitely recommend.
