I picked up a bouquet on my sister's behalf while she was getting her hair done for her wedding. After I sent her a picture, she decided she wanted a few changes--more white flowers, fewer zinnias, and some deeper burnt red/orange tones to better match what she had envisioned. The florists weren't in the shop at the time, but the store manager was absolutely incredible. I wish I could remember her name because she deserves such a shoutout! She went above and beyond to make sure the bouquet was exactly what my sister wanted. She let me walk back through the cooler with her and point out flowers I thought my sister would love, talked me through what she was doing, and was so patient and accommodating throughout the entire process. She took an already beautiful bouquet and helped turn it into something that felt even more special and much closer to my sister's vision. What stood out to me most was that she genuinely cared that we were 100% happy before I left. I never felt rushed or like I was being difficult for asking for changes--she just wanted to make it right. April's Garden also provided the flowers for the dinner following my sister's ceremony, which her husband's family coordinated, and those arrangements were absolutely breathtaking. Their attention to detail was beautiful. I would highly recommend April's Garden to anyone looking for a florist in Durango. We ordered a "Natalie's Favorite Blooms" bouquet, and increased it to The Best with a base cost of $269. With delivery and tip, the final bill was $341.19. We all expected something spectacular with a big Wow factor to brighten up our friend' hospital room and home when she was released two days later. You'll see from the photos, we didn't feel the value was worth it. Also, the bouquet was noticeably wilted and a bit sparse after four days. The owner explained that the photo didn't do it justice because the flowers are mostly locally grown and generally last 3-5 days. We wish we had been aware of these very important details. We just didn't find the kind of value we had expected.

As I was telling the woman over the phone about my complaint she replied " I am working on a funeral right now, I don't have time for this s**t," before I was rudely hung up on. Not much has otherwise changed since my last review, which I honestly appreciate! Dietz Market has been around for a good long time in Durango. It's a mainstay along the highway as one of the first places you may come across when entering the town from the south. Almost hidden along 160, just before you get to Farmington Hill, you'll find this local gift and garden shop. Every time I visit, I find something new and interesting in the store, and now that I no longer live in Durango, I make sure to stop by before leaving. It has all sorts of interesting things, including spices and sauces, eclectic kitchen goods, toys for the kids, coffee, chocolates, pottery, chili ristras at harvest time, fairy garden furniture, and lots of pots and outdoor decorations for your butterfly garden at home. It isn't burdened by the crowds that shop downtown, so swing by if you get a chance. Fun!
