Our bagels were pretty decent--nowhere near the best I have had but nowhere near the worst either. Mine was poppy seed; my partner's was cinnasugar; my sister's was cinnamon raisin. Once we entered the place it smelled amazing! Unfortunately the bagel didn't live up to the smell. For $30 we got 2 bagels which weren't very filling and a little lack luster with the flavor. Mine also was supposed to have avocado and I remembered too late to walk back and ask for it. I'm curious to try the bagels with just shmears because those weren't half bad. Excellent breakfast spot! Creative bagel choice and ingredients! Rosemary bagel, the first I've ever encountered, with a green chili cheese smear was spicy and interesting! The barista, despite being very busy cooking and taking orders was gracious and helpful. Mostly indoors, but the outdoor seating is shaded from the morning sun and rain. I ordered cheese and it had mold on it- almost looks like they serve moldy cheese and just cut it off before serving, but forgot a spot on my sandwich? Overpriced for such a poorly managed place. Tried this spot for the first time. There were 6 of us. Limited seating but great selection of bagels. Fresh & crispy. Nice selection of schmears as well. I had a salt bagel with scallion spread. Its the cutest shop with outside tables and a chill vibe it is the perfect way to start your day. Also, the garlic herb cream cheese IS PHENOMENAL i wanted to buy tubs of it! We found ourselves hungry while on a recent trip to Durango to take the Durango-Silverton train. Before departing, we strolled over to the Durango Bagel and ordered a few items. The Italian Bagel (which is basically an everything) was warm and soft. Topped with scallion cream cheese, this quick bite was refreshing and made my belly happy. My mom enjoyed these little treats that were like fancy fig newtons. I forget the name, but they're in jars on the glass countertop. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their products. There is inside and outdoor seating available. Parking is also available via meters. The inside is quite small, but it is cozy and rustic. I'm glad that we stopped. read more

We went in on a Friday morning for a quick breakfast. No one was at the counter, and it was not too busy at all. The lady promptly took our order. We got one bagel sandwich, with Bacon, Egg, cheese, and plain Smear. We also got a cinnamon sugar bagel with raspberry cream cheese. That's it. How the price came to almost $20 I don't fully understand, and didn't pay enough attention when I was paying because we were in a hurry. The Bagel Sandwich is something I'd advise people to NEVER order. If you like paying 15 bucks for MICROWAVED Egg and horrendous microwaved bacon this sandwich is for you. If you like "cooked," tasty food, I'd avoid at all costs. The fact they charge this absurd price for microwaved food is a joke! The Bagel and Smear was good. In fact I've never had a cinnamon sugar bagel, nor have i heard of anyone with a raspberry smear. I think this place may be serviceable for the traditional bagel and smear, but I'll never get anything with food that should be cooked here again! read more

I love bagels and Durango Bagel makes a damn good bagel. Unfortunately they messed up my seemingly simple order over the weekend (2 sesame bagels plain as is and 1 sesame bagel toasted with green chili cream cheese), but even with plain cream cheese my bagel still tasted delicious. I will say that their service is not the most efficient thing I have encountered, and their staff is not the most friendly. That being said, they have a wide variety of options of both bagels and cream cheese. Prices are a little steep (I mean, what isn't these days), but if you are looking for a high quality bagel, look no further! read more

Both were delicious & had generous portions of egg, ham & sausage .The only thing I would do different next time is request the schmear sauce on the side. My bagel had a bit too much for my taste. They're open! Walk up only on this visit which is fine as we were on our way out of town anyway. We ordered a toasted poppy seed breakfast bagel with egg and ham, and a toasted onion bagel with ham, sausage egg and cheese. My bagel had a ton of poppy seeds (which I love) but wasn't toasted enough. Eggs were the consistency of egg beaters, and tasted as such. The meat reminded me of the "budget" brand of lunch meat you get at a discount grocer. The bagel was heavy and dense, not the light fluffy toasted to perfection ones I'm used to eating at home. I shouldn't compare bagels, it's relative I know, but we were hungry, and nothing was open except McDonald's. So I appreciate that we were able to get something to eat. Service was a touch slow, (understandably), but helpful. Only one lady taking orders and preparing food. read more

Lots of awesome choices and friendly fast service. We came in here a few times while visiting and every choice we tried was awesome. Toasted Pizza bagel with green chili smear was so yummy and had a cinnamon bagel with honey almond smear also delicious. We tried a few other combos but not sure now what they were. They can get busy before the train leaves as people are ordering sandwiches etc. but line goes fast and it's worth it. read more

I wish I got the name of the gal who worked this morning, Sunday 7/16/23. She was a tiny, light haired, force She is what hustlin' is all about! Working by herself, taking phone orders, walk ins, making coffee, restocked, made all the bagels, payment and still changed her gloves in between each step for cleanliness! I love this place! This is my favorite place for breakfast in downtown Durango. The bagels are always toasted to perfection and the cream cheese is light and fluffy. $20 for a cold bagel and a RedBull??! What the actual F. The place is run by college kids that spend more time socializing with each other or doing pointless other tasks at a pace snails could lap, instead of actually helping customers. It was like the entire staff had taken Valium. The line was backed up out of the door, 2 groups ahead of me and 3 behind, and of the 3 employees visible, one guy was slowly wiping down a counter, the other was leisurely changing the coffee filter, all while one girl made bagels solo.... My grandma could have prepped everyone's orders quicker than they did and watching their lack of efficiency was frustrating. I finally order, and made my way to pay and after standing at the register for another 5 minutes, Tweedle Dum finally turned around from just staring at the coffee machine. I ordered a bagel and a RedBull and some how it totaled $20?!? The board said $4.50 for a bagel with plain cream cheese plus $3 for avocado... a rip off to start but very deceptive prices. I was honestly in shock but just paid it because I had been waiting so long I was now late for a meeting I should have had plenty of time to get back to, and needed to get home. I live not even a 5 minute walk away from here and by the time I got home the bagel was ice cold. Thinking it's my own fault for not eating it right away I check and it was not even toasted... they just cut them and spread cream cheese on a cold bagel... gross... the avocado was so mashed up it looked like they scooped it from some guacamole spread. Not worth the $8 it was advertised to be.... let alone what they actually charged. Since we moved to Durango I've done nothing but try to speak highly of local businesses and give them the benefit of the doubt, but as another reviewer wrote the prices they are charging for a basic bagel are offensive. We went here this morning for bagels. And 3/5 bagels were messed up so naturally we called and nicely asked for then to be remade. Immediately we received attitude from the employees which was very disappointing. We paid for extra stuff on our bagels and nothing was added on so of course we wanted what we paid for and she kept saying you know that is an extra cost... yes we know because we paid extra for them. Then we drove 10 minutes back and still received attitude from the employees during pick up. I tried to be friendly by saying thank you and so forth and got no acknowledgment or apology back from them whatsoever. When we went to eat the bagel on our drive to our appointment the sausage was cold so we didn't even get to eat our breakfast before our appointment.... We have gone here for over 5 years and this was super disappointing. We will not be returning for a long time. The bagels were okay at the end but service was bad so very disappointed. read more
