Bike rally's and flat screen tv's all over the place showing the latest sporting event. A couple of warm stoves and fireplaces make this a really cozy place in colder weather and the expansive decks are great for drinks and dining as well. As a long time Vallecito resident, I am really glad they are here. We love the Hideaway - where there are no strangers, just friends you haven't met yet!

It was juicy and delicious, and the rosemary garlic aioli was delicious! The fry sauce was also some of the best I've had, and we left the cup scraped clean. The fries tasted fresh and were well-cooked. My partner said the root beer was great and my cherry cream soda was delicious. I had gotten a small and I was contemplating going back to order another in a large, it was that good! All of the employees we interacted with were super friendly. It was a bit of a struggle to find a table outside just because of the holiday weekend, but we found a perfect table that fit all of us under a tree. We took a little walk by the pasture and read the info signs after dinner which was a great way to end the evening. This place is fantastic and well worth the wait! It is pretty expensive (we paid about $146 after a 20% tip) so it may be better for special occasions, but it is all so fresh and pure that it's very much worth the price you pay. My partner and I don't live in Durango but his family does, so I'm hopeful we will be back the next time we visit.

The lady that proclaims she's the manager, the one that runs the drive through(blonde hair lady), is very rude and disrespectful, the cook is also very disrespectful and rude. Not to mention she took her mash off to try and talk back to me, wouldn't be surprised if they spit in your food before you get it. And she wouldn't tell me her name or give me the owners name and number. I would highly recommend that no one eats here... with the staff being that rude and disrespectful to customers I couldn't see why anyone would. read more

Great place! We have never had any issues whatsoever! Ate there 50 times! Walk in the door, pay at the counter, and the food is brought to our table within minutes, very polite. The prices are actually good when compared with other establishments. To bad mouth this local business is down right rude and nasty, and brings out a hint of lunacy. This is probably my favorite burger place in town. Besides the fact that it's the only burger place in town. It's a good friendly spot where kids can go after school to eat and hang out. The restaurant is tiny, a narrow shotgun type unit in a building along main street. We managed to get one of their five tables and were promptly served drinks and time to look over the menu before ordering the Country Benedict. My coffee was kept filled as we waited for our order. As soon as the plate hit the table, I knew that even though the owner had changed, the spirit of the place remained. The plate of food was massive; more than the two of us could eat. The plate included two halves of an excellent biscuit, half of a large sausage patty on each, an over easy egg; all smothered in country sausage gravy. The other half of the plate had a mound of beautiful browned hash browns. Enough for four people or at least two very hungry people. It was glorious and nostalgic. The flavor was everything I wanted it to be. If you are in or near Durango, please consider giving this true old diner a try.
