Food was very good, great burger. Very busy, which is a good sign, but means you'll need to wait a bit.

Well, where to begin?! We got here and it began.... The employees seemed to want to be involved with their own conversations vs handle wait on customers... it took 28 minutes for two simple meals... first the grilled chicken was completely overcooked and the lettuce was brown, the tomato slice was larger than the grilled chicken!!! It was GROSS! The other was a burger which again was overcooked and (are ya ready?- COLD!!) When one of us went to the main counter to inquire, one of the employees was RUDE and dismissive.. totally disrespectful!!!!! Meal came in 31 minutes from ordering! It was a total waste of money- this place continues to go downhill- - poor management-- Heck they had a worker slopping a mop around in the seating area while folks were eating... The person taking orders with the pink hair was extremely rude! The tables were filthy and we had to ask for one to be cleaned off so we could sit and eat. Gravy was watery and bun chewier than the chicken in it. My husband asked for the combo and volcano sauce to dip them in and when his order came with no fries. When we asked the girl about it, she said, you didn't order that, If you want fries, you have to pay for them with nothing but attitude. He tried to explain he asked for the combo and had even ordered the sauce. She had attitude the entire time and I won't be returning unless something changes! I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato combo, the chicken was not a breast or even a chicken strip, it was very, thin and about half the size of the bun and extremely rubbery! I thought OK I'll just eat the other half of the sandwich, the piece of chicken was tender but about 1/3 the size of one half of the bun. Yuk! I will never order or recommend the crispy chicken sandwich. I upgraded to a medium size order of onion rings, they were very greasy and must have been fried twice. While the burgers are good, the onion rings that my husband ordered for take out were fried to a crisp, and not in a good way. They were so over cooked and grease soaked that they were inedible. So let me tell you a story about how Pine Cone saved my night.... I rented a spot at Vallecito Lake for my birthday. I did not plan food for Saturday night ( tonight) because there is a grill near the lake. We get to the grill for food and it is over an hour and a half wait for both dine in and to go. We leave and drive to Bayfield for a restaurant that said it was open until 8:30. Surprise! They were not. We then go to a brewery and cannot eat there because they don't allow dogs on the patio ( did I tell you I had my dog? Because I did) so I lookup anything that is open in the area and alas, there is Pine Cone. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice. This is an oasis of goodness in the most unassuming location! We were on our way to Durango to embark on a backpacking trip and stumbled upon this place while at the gas station. They have a connecting wall and once we realized this place existed we were super excited and had to try the ice cream. The combinations are great the service was awesome and everyone was really friendly! Prices are great and the atmosphere is great and fun. The Ice Cream was so good that we decided to make another stop on our way home. If this location is closer than six hours away we would definitely go very often! If you are in the area or nearby or not, stop in and have delicious ice cream and burgers and other homemade food. How could they have gone down hill so fast? Customer service is still a failing point We went in today 10/21 for the $6 lunch deal. Walked up to the counter and was second in line. After cashier took the order in front of us she proceeded to make their floats and sundaes. Then when she took our order she informed me it was 302 and could not give me the lunch deal because that ended at 300. I understand you have to have a cut off. But 302 is not it. If you really want good food you could go anywhere else within 50 miles and it would be better than this place. the owners do not understand what good is or that they do understand but choose to charge premium prices for crap. There may be some repetition here: the burgers are not fresh, but frozen, preformed patties, and it translates into a sub-par burger. Our burgers were not freshly cooked and came out less than hot and with skimpy toppings that were not fresh either (read as wilted, mushy, lacking integrity= not fresh). Fries were not hot and fresh and overcooked. I do not know what else can be said about the experience other than we paid a fair amount of money and received the meals fast, but they were partially or wholly precooked and waiting to be served fast. We would have happily waited for fresh burgers and fries, but we were not fortunate enough to receive that. Being new to Bayfield this has become my go to for ice cream shredders and sundaes. Hamburgers are decent. One draw back experience I had was I ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. UGH!! When I first moved to Bayfield a year ago, I digged the pine cone. Over the last few months they have gone completely down hill. Literally the last 4 times in a row I've been, something has been wrong with my order. I've noticed the 3$ burger days typically are made with old bread that's chewy and I've had soggy fries multiple times. The cheese curds are a Rip off for price vs the amount you get, especially when the cook only fills up the small bag halfway, it's already a small bag to begin with. Multiple times my shredder is missing a major ingredient. I'm just over it. There may not be very many options in Bayfield but I'd rather go to ANY of the other options from now on, just not worth the constant disappointment especially since it's more expensive than any other fast food in the Durango/Bayfield area... rip off, absolutely no consistency and they don't listen when I make a request :/ read more

Went and spent 20 minutes in a line for ice cream. When I drove away and went for a bite I realized to my dismay it was only a chocolate ice cream in a cup, not the shredder I ordered. They do this all the time they are not consistent, and don't even know their own menu: shredders, burgers, probably even a damn corn dog. This place is full of disappointment .
