A dirt path with patches of grass and rocks extends through grassy fields, bordered by a fence on the left side. In the distance, there are trees, a small pond, and mountain ranges under a sky filled with dark and light clouds, suggesting an overcast day.

What a great spot right outside the heart of Durango! The food here was so fresh and quality and you can't beat the view while you eat. They also have a nearby farm and market and a pumpkin patch while we visited. Awesome stop

This is the most magical place EVER!! You have to stop. The food was so fresh and delicious. The atmosphere felt like "home". Their market was full to the brim with all their farm goodies. I had the BLT and best BLT I have ever had My husband had the inside out grilled cheese and he devoured it. We loved everything about it here

Can't say enough good things about James Ranch Grill. Best burgers anywhere around. Four napkins. Drips flavor. Pink on the inside. I will always come back when traveling here.

The food is phenomenal!! Fresh burgers Homemade cheese on my anything but basic burger. The fries are fingerling potatoes. Yum Service is always a breeze. The food came out fast Farm to table!! You can sit inside or outside on a picnic table style overlooking the cows in the pasture

Best burger place. Always cooked to perfection. I go often.... They know me by my name when I order. Plus they take care of my Celiac needs.

Thank you Yelp for bringing us here. We arrived about 1pm and waited in line (with all the others) to place our order. From the time I ordered till the time the food was ready was about a 15 minute wait. The wait to place the order took longer! Hubs & I shared the burger and the fries. It was just enough for us. If we were big eaters, we probably would have each gotten something. The burger was delicious, the lemonade had a nice tart taste, and was quite refreshing. An absolutely beautiful day with gorgeous views.

Amazing experience. Such a cool family vibe at this ranch. Everyone was nice and helpful and the food was so good and so fresh!

James Ranch. My mushroom Belford burger. - A rectangular metal tray displays a mushroom Belford burger with melted cheese and a toasted bun, alongside a piece of toast with mayonnaise drizzled on top. The tray is lined with parchment paper and rests on a green and white checkered tablecloth.

Sunday, July 7, 2024. Lunch. We decided to try this place again after a horrible experience in August, 2022. Please see attached original review, the gracious owner refunded our money after that experience. Please note: their prices have increased roughly $1.50 - $2 due to inflation since 2022. We were visiting Durango with another couple for my birthday. This time I ordered the mushroom Belford burger ($16.75). This came with sauteed cremini mushrooms, caramelized onions, Belford cheese, lightly buttered Brioche bun, a 1/3-pound medium grass fed beef patty, rosemary garlic aioli and a bed of greens. All our food arrived piping hot and my burger was super juicy and the crispy cheese tasted divine. The wife from the other couple said it was the "best burger" she'd ever eaten! I couldn't go that far, but it was a huge improvement in service and delivery from our first visit. We did visit the nearby meat market and purchased Wagyu ground beef, lamb chops and some pork chops. The quality of the meat from this ranch continues to impress us.

What a truly unique and delicious experience. I visited here from out of town many years ago and this was my first time coming back. Since then I have dreamt of visiting again and it did not disappoint. The place has only grown. But their burgers were exceptional, you can taste the freshness in each bite. I wished I had another after this one. Their fries were also exceptional although I wish you got more for $11 for a "large". Definitely try their baconaise sauce, it's unique and the perfect dipping sauce. My first visit I had homemade ice cream that was to die for. I was disappointed they did away with it but I did try some of the ice cream in the market and it was pretty good as well. The burgers came out pretty quick, about 10-15 minute wait and there was little to no line when arriving Sunday around 3 PM. They had plenty of seating and the overall vibe was great. If you get a chance to visit here, 10/10 recommend. We even thought about going back the next day!

Often does live music. Good food. Recommended by a local. Be prepared to wait but beautiful view to grab a drink and walk around.

Our "BeReal" taken under the apricot tree. - A family of four, including two adults and two children, is seated at a green and white checkered outdoor table at James Ranch Grill in Durango, CO. The table has various dishes, drinks, and condiments, with a scenic grassy area and trees in the background. The setting is shaded by trees, and the family appears to be enjoying a meal in a natural, outdoor environment.

Outstanding!!! The food is not only grown locally, but very evidently prepared with love and a culinary creativity that reminds you that serving food is more than an income for the owners. This was also true of the service. There was a young man bussing tables and refilling drinks that carried a smile around with him wherever he went. He was eager to serve and friendly. There were plenty of seating options. We chose to sit under an old apricot tree in the shade.

This is my family's favorite dinner spot! Food is great and always fresh. The location has amazing views and a nice walking path around the farm. My boys love to spot at all the fact boards around the property. Very family friendly. Service can sometimes be slow BUT the food and atmosphere is Worth it!!

They offer a huge variety of products made with honey, everything from honey butter and wine to syrups and glazes. It's the kind of place where you walk in "just to look" and end up wanting to try everything. The quality and variety really stood out. Beyond the food, the shop is full of charming gifts and décor, adorable bee-themed plaques, kitchen towels, and more. It has that perfect rustic, Colorado feel. What really caught our attention was the outdoor setup. The large honey-dipper-style poles and the big bear statue make it such a cute and memorable spot, perfect for photos. I Iiked the whipped honey in original, bumbleberry, coffee and more. The hot honey and cherry habanero honey mustard were fantastic. This sandwich is truly epic. The wheat bread is from a local bakery. Instead of it being toasted in a perfunctory, afterthought manner, it is thoroughly toasted right at the point of the wheat kernels cracking, engendering the goodness only wheat can provide. The bacon is properly cooked, with no hint of undercooked slime present. The green chili tastes as though it was brought here this morning from Hatch, with the whole of the ingredients being uniquely fresh. Finally, the sriracha mayo sauce provides just the right presence of spice, uniquely accenting the green chili. Turkey itself is great, but I confess, is so overshadowed by the excellence present throughout the sandwich, that it hardly occupies the center stage. On another note, a definite problem here is that the water glass conveying a distinct taste of soap residue. It's bad. This happened the last time that I was here, as well. For 20 years my family and I have driven by James Ranch on our way to Haviland Lake, Purgatory,…read moreMolas Lake, Silverton, Ouray.......................... and have watched the ranch grow as we fly past on 550. We finally, recently stopped. Where do I start? First off the person who set up the store is a genius! When you walk in the front door of the store your senses are hit with the most relaxing aroma therapy wafting from the handmade soaps located just to your right. (Yes, it was the first thing I picked up!) As you move along the store you are treated to some of the most amazing local art. Earrings, blankets, handspun wool. But then there's the cooler. Filled with meats, cheeses, breads, sausages, just yummy, yummy, organic goodness. Then there's the book corner. (I had to limit myself at 5. THIS time.) I understand all the authors were local. (Actually even though James Ranch owners seem to have their bases covered with their own beef, pork, cheese "artists" they welcome local artists to showcase their art.) So back to the cooler. We ended up buying some of the chorizo. I love homemade chorizo and this did not disappoint. We also bought a roast that I cooked last night. I took all the praises from my family at how good that roast was. But at the end of the day I knew, there was NO WAY anybody could have screwed up that roast! We also ate while we at James Ranch. I almost feel sorry for any other burger I will ever eat again. The James Burger set a standard only Ramsey can beat. OH! I didn't even mention the deck!? Or the picnic tables on the lawn? Or the view of the cows grazing in the meadow while I drip juices from an organic beef burger on my face!? NOT sorry! OH! And shout-out to Adam who had to wait to close the store because we couldn't tear ourselves away from "the ranch" side of James Ranch. Guess we'll be back earlier in the day next time!
