It's good as a store for convenience but oh my is the price inconvenient! I went to go buy vanilla extract because it was next door. I arrive and look. It was like 10 dollars! And I went to check out and it ended up being like 15 dollars. read more

I love a good co-op and the Durango Natural Foods is no exception, though they are exceptional. I read they usually have vegan grab-and-go items, so I stopped in during my roadtrip hoping for a sandwich. I walked out with a breakfast burrito, a hefty sandwich for lunch, and other small snacks. Every single thing was delicious and I am a bit sad that I don't live in the vicinity to visit every day. read more

My girlfriend and I were vacationing in Durango from San Antonio, TX and found ourselves visiting this haven almost daily. Not only did it satisfy our health-conscious needs in terms of produce and day-to-day products, but we were able to purchase freshly prepared juices, smoothies, and rice bowls inside that fueled us throughout our time here. Other highlights include their bulk section, which consisted of goods I haven't been able to find back at home, and their frozen foods section, which had at least five different types of veggie burgers we could try out that fit our particular dietary needs. I highly recommend stopping by if you can! Pictured is one of their rice bowls which comes with basmati rice, steamed vegetables, a protein (green chile black beans), and a sauce (spicy peanut). Terrific, quality organic. Great selection in all categories . I haven't been let down yet.

This is a super nice little corner store that has shelves and shelves stocked full of all things healthy. They have fresh made sandwiches and some salads, fresh produce, botanicals, supplements... et al. They are also right next door to my favorite coffee house in Durango so cheers to that. I have nothing bad to say about this place except that it is a tiny little dark cramped store, but it's packed full of healthy stuff for you and it is walking distance if you live there in town. I myself am a sucker for shiny bright and new "Natures Oasis" over on 160. I'm sure the hippies hate the N.O. because they'll say it's some Denver corporate thingy and that may be true but if it's a Denver company it's still inside the state. Maybe the two stores could get together and join forces and be a super-hippie health- 'O' Rama store thingy. Cheers read more

Great store lots of products, wish they carried the double roasted tomato variety of frontera salsa sadly they don't. They have really good grab and go breakfast burritos which makes up for them not having my favorite salsa lol. Burrito is good size and has great flavor, think I like it more than raiders ridge. read more

Although a great health food store, the prices are higher and it's a small store. There is a membership available to join their co-op, which then reduces the prices. Favorite aspect of this store is their deli that offers sandwiches, juices, smoothies, etc. Its selection is small compared to Nature's Oasis, but the quality is on par. read more

I visited Durango last week, and I am trying to morph into a vegetarian so I found this place. Today I called them from Tucson AZ to thank them for the super fresh locally sourced vegetables, for my salad, and the superior sandwich wrap. The salad and the sandwich wrap were the best tasting tuna fish salad I've had in years. I still haven't been able to give up fish. Travelling is difficult for your diet, so I found this place a "gold mine." The deli especially!! Thank you Durango Natural Foods for the excellent fresh food! read more

A nice walk from town, on College Ave. On site made soups, wraps and sammies. Spreads, breads; mostly any convenience item needed, including dairy, grooming and stuff for your pooch. read more

Overall the store is amazing and just today I had the best sandwich in deli. Highly recommend supporting the local food co-operative and experiencing it for yourself. If your not satisfied then let them know, they will make it right with you. Most likely though, DNF will not disappoint you in the first place! read more

The other reviewer here has nothing but good things to say about our beloved little co-op...and gives it 3 stars?! I love this place and have been going for years. Now that we have an embarrassment of riches in natural foods---the mega-sized Nature's Oasis (I much preferred the old, small place, but good luck to their local owners in any case!), the new Natural Grocer in NO's old spot (what a gift to them), and even City Market has lots of organic stuff now (though that money goes back to Kroger in Ohio). Four good real food markets in our tiny town! But the co-op is still my favorite, not because I don't want to see NO do well, but because the co-op is truly community owned. That is very rare these days (there are mighty few co-ops left, look around the southwest), and well worth supporting. By and for Durangoites: that's the good stuff right there. The prices are fair, with lots of weekly specials, and I love the folks who work here. These are my kind of Durango folk! The co-op needs all the support it can get, and deserves it as the original Durango health food place. Those other places will do fine, but we need to keep supporting our real little oasis of health food! Compare prices and you'll realize that the co-op is very competitive, and is the only place that keeps our food money right here in town while not striving to become a mall-wart-sized mega-biz. That matters to me and all the other longterm co-op lovers and health food fans, and feels like the Durango I have known and loved for so long. Long may our co-op run! read more
