The other reviewer here has nothing but good things to say about our beloved little co-op...and…read moregives it 3 stars?! I love this place and have been going for years. Now that we have an embarrassment of riches in natural foods---the mega-sized Nature's Oasis (I much preferred the old, small place, but good luck to their local owners in any case!), the new Natural Grocer in NO's old spot (what a gift to them), and even City Market has lots of organic stuff now (though that money goes back to Kroger in Ohio). Four good real food markets in our tiny town! But the co-op is still my favorite, not because I don't want to see NO do well, but because the co-op is truly community owned. That is very rare these days (there are mighty few co-ops left, look around the southwest), and well worth supporting. By and for Durangoites: that's the good stuff right there. The prices are fair, with lots of weekly specials, and I love the folks who work here. These are my kind of Durango folk! The co-op needs all the support it can get, and deserves it as the original Durango health food place. Those other places will do fine, but we need to keep supporting our real little oasis of health food! Compare prices and you'll realize that the co-op is very competitive, and is the only place that keeps our food money right here in town while not striving to become a mall-wart-sized mega-biz. That matters to me and all the other longterm co-op lovers and health food fans, and feels like the Durango I have known and loved for so long. Long may our co-op run!

Best food co-op in the area. They specialize in farm/ranch-to-table produce, meats, eggs and dairy,…read morealthough it's got an amazing selection of vegan, organic, GF & dairy-free products too. Now they're making a nice selection of fresh, homemade pickles, pesto, soups, granola and cookies. The Hub offers many products in bulk, too. Bring your own containers or just paper bag them for transfer to home storage. They sell kombucha, coconut water, fruit and more. And, if you're planning to stay local for a while, they can often special order just about anything you can think of from their network. The Hub is also a partner with the Norwood-based Indian Ridge Bakery across the street which makes some of the best breads, pastries and savory treats you'll ever eat. They use locally grown/ground, organic flours. GF options available too. Whether you've got a desire for high-quality ingredients to make your own amazing meals or you just want something healthy and quick, the Fresh Food Hub should be your first stop in Norwood. NOTE: They're not open every day. Tues/Thurs/Fri 3-7pm. Weekends 10am-3pm. This cozy place is so well managed and conscientious, it's really worth a stop-in just to see how a few, smart, dedicated people can change a place and give it new life. Every town would be lucky to have a place like the Fresh Food Hub.
