Great little organic grocery store. We were greeted upon entering and found the store to be well stocked with lots of quality items including prepared sandwiches in the deli area that were delicious during our road trip. (We did find a few of the people working a bit rude (the young woman working at the deli counter seemed to not want to be bothered to help anyone and then tried to overcharge us, the other was the woman stocking shelves who seemed very perturbed when asked a question about where an item was located. Not a good look, ladies!...but I find that behavior is more the norm and to be expected in Colorado small towns where everybody thinks they are healthier and better looking than everyone else! lol) If you're looking for quality products, and don't care about a little bit of attitude, this is your spot! read more

Sale items.. Why does NG have a sale for 3 weeks but only orders 10 bottles or so of Pineapple Juice, sells out in a day and then the shelf is empty but magically reappears after the sale is over? read more

Cashier was extremely rude, rolling her eyes at my kids and tried to stop me from setting my items on the belt." We're not done yet! That's not how our lanes work!" Simply cause she hadn't given back change yet to my daughter. Also had the nerve to say " oh, we're marking down chips now?" As if it was our fault they were discounted. After giving me change she just rolled her eyes again without saying a word. I also didn't appreciate how other workers were watching my kids (adults) like they were up to something. Will not recommend others to shop there. read more

I love this store. Prices on produce, bulk foods, haba and supplements are comparable and sometimes better than City Market. The produce is always organic which is important to me. Highly recommended! read more

A smashing store just 5 minutes from the Jarvis building crib. Lots of produce - not much in the way of vegetarian sandwiches for our train ride so I scored some falafel, tzatziki and cous cous, super helpful staff as it was early. I could enjoy shopping here every day. read more

This store is compact but has a great variety of organic and healthy food. They also seem to be ensuring customers wear masks, which is the responsible but difficult course for a grocer, creating conflict with obstinate customers. Fellow frontline healthcare workers and physicians agree that the only true medical exemption for wearing a mask is to not have a face--or to be in such severe respiratory distress, in cardiac arrest, or have massive facial trauma, etc. In these cases one probably wouldn't be shopping. For those who can't tolerate a mask or don't believe it is the smart and patriotic practice for the health of fellow human beings, they shouldn't go to the store. Unfortunately, someone else needs to do their shopping. I appreciate Natural Grocers for taking steps to protect public health while providing a great selection of affordable alternative foods. read more

Good-to Durango spot for organic, quality produce. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good non-produce selection for a smaller store (the one in Pagosa seems slightly bigger). A little pricey - more expensive than Trader Joe's, but Natural Grocers has better produce (and certainly more produce and all-around cheaper prices than Nature's Oasis down the road) - I'd say price point on par with Whole Foods? If I am feeling very organic-y and don't want to mess with the hit/miss of organic produce elsewhere in town, Natural Grocers is very reliable. read more

Was able to find some of the supplements and personal care items I needed. There was a very attentive woman who checked up on me a couple times. I also found some snacks I hadn't been able to find at other locations. Many of the items were on sale so that was a bonus. The male cashier was super kind as well. Would definitely stop here again. read more

I truly enjoy shopping here :) They have such a great selection of items! Whenever I want to find some great organic produce I come here. Right as you walk in you are greeted by colorful veggies and fruit. This store also has an excellent selection of frozen products: I recently found out that they sell a brand of ice cream from a famous store in San Francisco! Prices can be a bit expensive but they have coupons once in awhile and the expense is worth it for the produce. The employees are also super nice and helpful :) read more

Colorado's best locally owned health food store chain. They are spreading to other states too. I've been to every one in CO plus others. Beats Trader J's. Excellent variety with a helpful staff. Fresh produce, frozen, herbs, supplements, etc. A true natural grocer. read more

Worst customer service ever. Maggie obviously didn't have time to speak to me about a $10 price difference on a product I bought two days ago at another store. Left a cart full of goods and will drive 2 hours to a store that treats me well. read more

Though the food and selection are great, our "friendly" cashier neglected to give us our receipt and half our groceries! We had to return to the store. The manager did what he could to help. If you go there, be sure to watch the groceries go in your bag and get your receipt. read more

There are so many different things you can find here from rainbow carrots to pummelos. Everything is very organic and reliable. It is affordable and there are lots of different options. The staff is very friendly. Everything is nicely organized. They have gluten free and vegan options to and they have delicious gluten free and vegan options. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Natural Grocers for over a decade, and have spent ten's of thousands of dollars at there stores. First , in Santa Fe, NM and for the past 18 months at this location in Durango, CO. Due to events and how I was treated by the Produce Manager on Monday April 3, 2017, I will not shop at Natural Grocers again. I checked out and walked I over to the Produce Department at asked the Produce Manager if they had a livestock produce bag available. He said "yes" and I said I would like to have it and he said "OK". While he went to get it a woman came up beside me. When he came out with it she said she was on "the list" for Sunday and had only gotten a small bag the day before, Sunday. I turned to her and said I will get a box and split it with you. She said no she wanted it all since she was on "the list" and I was not. So the produce manager told me since she was on "the list" he was going to give it all to her and not me. This after I asked first and he told me "yes" I could have it. I asked about "the list" and how to get on it to which I was told it was full and no one ever dropped off. The Produce Department has been savvy enough to take waste produce and bag up for livestock. This is good, what is bad is that they have a "list" of 8 or 10 people who have priority over all others. There are over 50,000 people in LaPlata County and many of these have livestock. Why do only the same people get these fresh produce scrapes over and over again to the exclusion of all others? Why are the benefits of this food waste program inclusive to a few and exclusive to thousands of others? Isn't a first come first serve basis a more equitable way of administering this program? I believe it is. I have a choice as to who to give my money to and I am changing where I shop for groceries and supplements from this store and location to another Health Food Store in Durango,CO. I invite you to do the same. read more

Working and living in Durango for 20 years I have never been treated so rudely then this morning at this store. When asking where they moved their granola a man rolled his eyes haughtily brought me across the store and says "and it was right there" rolls his eyes again and storms off. I was shopping here and had a small accident with the shopping cart (my fault), and it caused my toe to bleed profusely. I wasn't quite sure what to do because I was leaving puddles of blood everywhere as I walked through the store. I told a young man that worked there because I knew someone would need to clean it up. All of a sudden several of the staff members came over to help me and were so kind and actually got a first aid kit and cleaned my foot with peroxide and washed my shoe for me and just treated me with so much kindness. I don't have the names of the women that helped me, but they went above and beyond, I am not so sure that I would have done what they did, there was a huge "ick" factor but I truly appreciate everything! The people that work here have always been kind and helpful, but this was really amazing. Thank you so much! And the produce is good too! read more
