I've been shopping with DO for more than 10 years and have seen budtenders come and go. My frequent visits have lent itself to befriending everyone I've encountered. So, like 2 months ago I left my Ray Bans on the counter. About a month later I asked about whether someone had turned them in. The kind folks looked around and they couldn't find them. On 9/23/25 I had just gotten out of day surgery and my car wouldn't start. I walked over to Durango Organics to see if I could get a jump start on my vehicle. I'm certain I looked like a monster, with half of my face bandage, but as usual, I was greeted at the front counter by a friendly employee, who went to ask other workers if they could offer assistance. This was the first dispensary we went when we got to Durango, based on Yelp reviews. (I don't partake but was with friends that do.) It's a small place tucked away on the south side of town, in the back of the complex. (If you see Durango Dermatology turn in there.) It's not a fancy, touristy, hip place but it's not a dump either. It's very functional. Get your ID checked and wait your turn. If you go back outside due to an overcrowded waiting area, get your ID rechecked. State law apparently. We had great help.The girl was very informative, had good knowledge of the laws for us out of staters, and good insight to the product. Prices were reasonable, and we happened to come in on a sale day which was even better. They do take credit/debit cards and waive the fee ($3) if you spend more than $100. If they expanded the registers it would be great. read more

Friendliest customer service in Durango. No kidding. Everyone in store is really friendly and helpful. Staff is also knowledgeable about their products and how they are made and where they come from. Everyone seems to truly enjoy being at work. Durango Organics has good products at good prices. They are also a recreational shop. Out of a test of the other shops in town - this is one wins in terms of customer service, product, and price. Bonus: they have a candy bowl of free (non-weed) treats at the entrance, and it's the good stuff. read more

One of the nicer and likely, more 'local' (less touristy), dispensaries I visited while in Durango. We had a really friendly budtender named Hunter and he answered all of our (newbie) questions with grace and excellent info. He had recommendations and good knowledge of the recreational product. Thank you, Hunter! The space is smaller than some of the other dispensaries but they have a great selection of flowers, cartridges (including a local supplier in Durango - we each bought one of those hybrids) and edibles. I'm a big 'gummy' fan and found they were a little lacking but they had plenty of other stuff: candy bars, cookies, brownies, etc. I really enjoyed the customer service and atmosphere here. Patrons are treated with respect and all Colorado laws are followed diligently. I would absolutely return here if I find myself back in Durango! read more

The staff members were welcoming, knowledgable, and great at making my whole group feel welcome. This was our first time at a recreational dispensary, and we were made to feel totally comfortable. Said he was selling us a lighter. Said he put the lighter in the bag. Receipt shows we were charged for a lighter. Didn't discover until we were camping fifty miles from any open lighter-selling stores that the lighter never got into the bag. Walked into this shop feeling a little bit nervous due to previous experiences at medicinal dispensers, but the staff were immediately comforting and helpful. Inside the attendant was very informative about all the products and patient with my many questions. The only reason I give four stars, is that at one point my "host" seemed a bit bored, but only for a minute. All around it was a good experience. read more

My wife crashed on her bicycle and I went in for some homeopathic ointment for her leg. The "bud tender" that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I got her some "Mary Jane" brand ointment (that has no htc) and it really helped her with the pain. Great service and shop! read more

Went here because 1) organic, 2) readers choice award. Very disappointed. I dont know what people in Durango think is good bud but man, the whole town is really sad on the bud scene. Durango Organics really wanted to sell us on their wonderful buds so we asked to see 3 strains we knew well as a comparison to the other 2 dispensaries we visited in town since this was first place 2018 "readers choice". Well they very excitedly showed us the 3 flower strains and we once again were quite disappointed in the quality of the flowers. All 3 strains smelled like hay when they should all be very distinctly flavorful, resin filled and stinky. But what they want to sell you is dry hay; flat, unflavorful hay. So this means they don't know how to properly cure the flowers before they go on the shelf. They machine trim everything down to the nubs and all the resin is knocked off in the process. So these highly prized "organic" flowers are ruined by the hack trimming and lack of proper curing. For this best place in Durango they really were disappointing. We did not buy any flowers due to the lack of quality on the cures; anybody familiar with buds understands how important this part is, so it's pretty bewildering why you would have a shop full of strains that all smell like hay. They must just sell this stuff to the unknowing tourists because there is no one that seriously knows buds that would think this stuff was good and worth these prices. Go to Vegas if you can where you get what you pay for and skip the bud scene rip-off in Durango, Colorado. read more
