I've seen a few negative reviews, mainly pertaining to rudeness by the staff, and I wanted to counter that view. I'm from neighboring New Mexico and have been visiting PH since they were Animas Herbal Wellness. I have had nothing but courteous, knowledgeable and professional service from them all these years. I visited just yesterday and the young lady who waited on me was fantastic. I just wish I could remember her name. She knew her product, and from what I've sampled up to now, she is spot on as to its effect, and intensity. Parking is a bit of a pain, but they seem to be taking COVID seriously, by requiring masks, as well as social distancing. They take debit cards, which is a convenience, and the product has always been top notch. I will continue to use them whenever I'm in Durango. read more

Okay so I would've given this place 5 stars if the lady that helped me didn't know what she was talking about I asked which strains had a gassy/ OG Kush flavor/ smell and the lady looked at me like she had no clue what I was talking about. She proceeds to tell me that all the weed they have tasted like earth/dirt which automatically told me that she shouldn't be working in a weed shop. So I had to pick out everything based on my knowledge of strains and the cannabis plant and got some really good bud. The only downside was it was really dry. Animas Herbal took the time to reach out to me and make things right when there was a problem. I feel terrible for ripping into any of the individuals who work there. They're all just following a protocol and sometimes things get confusing. I apologize for the awful way I took our last transaction. I should not have taken it personally. That being said, Animas has the best, by far, selection of pot/hash/edibles in Durango. I can't speak for the rec side of things, but the Med side is top top. Even out of all the places I went to in Denver. The problem is it can be intimidating. There are like 45 strains sitting in front of you, and you could literally end up sitting there for an hour sniffing each one. You basically have to put your trust in the budtenders and let them select whatever you describe you're feeling. If you're lucky one of the more schooled people will be there to send you in the right direction. They always have great deals. Their facebook is always updated and on point. They have good member benefits. Just make sure you fill out the paperwork and don't go sign up anywhere else;) They always have tons of edibles, including one of the few places that have those 13 or 16$ 250 and 375mg pies. The chocolate peanut butter(i think) one is 375mg or 325mg, but anyway it is super cheap and tasty and very effective. Also, it can be crowded if you go during peak hours. So basically at 5pm it's pretty crowded and slowish until about 6. Go early in the afternoon and it's normally a quick in and out. read more

Wouldn't order online just bite the bullet and wait in line. Last time I ordered online I got one gram of wax at 6pm and when I got to the dispensary at 7:00pm it still wasn't ready so they sent me back to the end of the regular recreational line. Hit or miss shop in the center of Durango. They have a weird pricing structure with some really expensive grams on the "Deluxe" or whatever they call it level. Bottom shelf grams are reasonably priced (12-ish) but often are not available, they are inconsistent in their stock and I have left without buying anything more often than I have bought. Their product is good and have never had a problem with quality. They do now scan your drivers license now, which is new. The door people are always nice, the counter people are hit or miss. Some are super calm and helpful, some bark at you like you are at an airport McDonalds. Whoever those girls working the counter during the 420 sale need to be fired, super rude. Pros: Good product Good location Good Sales on holidays Throwback 'headshop' feel, versus the mall kiosk aesthetic most shops choose. Cons: Inconsistent strain stock Weird price structure Inconsistent budtenders ID scanning Even with those few negatives it is one of the better shops located in the central business district and is worth a stop for locals and tourists. read more

I have been a loyal customer for almost 2 years. They forgot what it was like when they had started. The genuine customer service has gone downhill. They act like they don't know who you are. They just wanna get the sale and move on. I vouched 3 months ago to never return. I returned yesterday against my better judgement to give them another chance. Got two of the same pre-rolled joints, one joint was rolled perfectly but the other was horrible. Was not packed down correctly and had a huge stem that punctured through the wrap. Just a mess. Would not recommend buying any 'pre-' anything. read more

I wish that they would keep their online prices and in-stock more up to date, there have been several times I have made the trip to find most everything good out of stock even though it says online that it is there. Just listing "specials" without specifics (price, strains) on Facebook is not helpful, help people give you money by being better at keeping your social stuff up-to-date. If someone drives up from New Mexico to spend money HELP THEM by having in stock what you say you do. I have only bought one sort iffy strain, Lucinda Williams, it was all dried up and I should have had a look at it first. But everything else bought from them have been top notch. Selection has gotten weaker and weaker over the past year, especially on the concentrates side. I am not a partaker of this substance but was happy to tag along with a friend on a recent trip to Durango. He was beyond excited about the trip--was like a kid in a candy store. And essentially that is what Animas Herbal Wellness Center is: a candy store for marijuana-loving adults. And, quiet literally, they have candy! A huge assortment of jellies, gummy bears and even chocolate bars. In addition to the marijuana selection, which my friend assured me was top notch. The staff was incredibly friendly and the woman that helped us out was cheerful, helpful and very knowledgeable of the product and the effects. All in all, I had a good customer service experience and I wasn't even the customer.
