Visitors do things on vacation that they wouldn't normally do at home, especially when the visitor is in Colorado and thinking, ooohhh . . . guess what's legal in Colorado? Hey, maybe it's been thirty years since I indulged in a little recreational smoking, but 50 is the new 30, right?
Well, maybe not exactly. But I know this thanks to the owner of Cloud 9, Stephanie, who was exceptionally nice, informative, and helpful.
My students had heard I was visiting Colorado, and they dared me to get a marijuana brownie or cookie while I was there. That's the kind of challenge I welcome. I spotted Cloud 9 while wandering downtown Durango, and went in.
The shop is not large, but very well laid-out, organized, and neat. Stephanie greeted me and asked how she could help. I told her a brief version of, I wanted to purchase a brownie since I was on vacation. She told me that the nearest location to purchase recreational marijuana was in Telluride, a 2 1/2 hour drive away. I was very curious about experimenting, but not curious enough to drive for 5 hours for that purpose. I figured, so much for that, and turned to go. But Stephanie asked about my experience with marijuana, and I told her, it was long ago and far away. She then very kindly gave me a lot of advice about using marijuana about a long break from it, how to purchase it, what kind of effects to expect from various edible forms, and more. Even though I wasn't going to make a purchase at her store, she took a lot of time to educate me.
I never did get to indulge during my visit to Durango, but I certainly enjoyed visiting Cloud 9. Everything looked terrific, and Stephanie knows her products very well. Although she does not sell marijuana, she sells all sorts of peripherals to use it.
I highly recommend Cloud 9. It's been a long time since I've seen such a neat, complete shop with excellent and caring customer service. You rock, Stephanie, and so does your store! read more
