Great one stop shopping for out of towners to get whatever you may need during your stay. We were in Durango for a week and came here several times Open until 11P even on Sunday! Great selection of beer and wine (note to Texans you can buy alcohol in CO on Sundays). For liquor, bourbon etc and walk a few steps to Liquor World next door. Speaking of next door, Albertson's has a generous parking lot within walking distance of the Animas river trail, Double Tree hotel, Akami restaurant, several tours including the bombastic train to silverton adventure. This is a very old Albertsons close to the Train station. Parking lot is small and crowded. It's not very clean and the produce section was left to be desired. On a positive note the aisles seemed to be well stocked, and they have self checkout. Which I personally don't like, but hey anything so you don't have to wait in line. In and out relatively quick I only needed a couple of things. I did notice prices were higher. Probably due to Durango being a resort town. read more

Before shopping, I often search items on-line, store specific, to assure they are available and to find aisle location. The most recent visit, not surprising, two items were not available. A stocker refused to move her cart from blocking shelves where there was another item I needed. The female assistant in the self-checkout area was very rude and irritated when an item I was trying to purchase would not ring up. She directed me to the cashier line (only one open in the entire store), where I was once again greeted by rude behavior. All sale items (5 different ones) rang up full price, and I had to ask for correction. What an experience! Durango can have their overpriced Albertsons with their rude staff. I'm shopping New Mexico again where they appreciate customers, and you don't have to worry about forgetting your shopping bags. read more

IDK what position Kassandra holds, but I hope she is well paid. Knowledgeable, friendly, and gets stuff done in a store, and town, that doesn't have enough grocery employees. OTOH, prices at this store are high, even for Durango, and sale pricing is often misleading, to the point I have felt it is intentionally so. The parking lot is very dark, with a lot of lights missing, and hard to see what you're doing at night. I consider it hazardous to women who are alone. read more

Our last stop before continuing our road trip to Talking Rocks in Hesperus, CO. This Albertsons was completely out of ice, but to be fair it was May and almost 100 degrees. I'm sure possibly everyone and their mother, came to pick up ice for this super hot day! Masks are optional here, for anyone who's wondering. Their restrooms weren't so clean, but it was an in-n-out stop. I did enjoy seeing their Colorado merchandise for sale. Lots of car decals with the Colorado symbol and flag. read more

If I could give it a zero rating I would. The place is dirty, disorganized and you have a difficult time maneuvering your grocery cart thru the isles because of all the boxes piled up. The shelves are not stocked but the unbelievable part was going to the store specifically for a cut of meat and was told their blade was broken so the pork chops could not be cut. ARE YOU SERIOUS!! I've been shopping Safeway/Albertsons for many many years and have never heard that before,. There is no excuse for a dirty floor. read more

We were in town for a funeral and after a long day of travel wanted to find somewhere to get some flowers. We headed to Albertsons being it was one of the only stores still open at that time of night. They had a good selection of fresh and arranged flowers but individually not what we were looking for to personalize for our loved one. We found the flowers and a vase separately but needed a ribbon to finish it off. The staff graciously helped us get a ribbon from the floral desk and even let us use their scissors to trim the flowers to fit the vase we purchased (since we didn't have scissors traveling to town from out of state). I thought grocery stores made it a habit of having, you know, groceries in stock. Albertson's supply chain is legit awful. They are often out of large swaths of basic staples and vegetables and fruit. Maybe the managers are just trying to give us a window into what it was like to live in Durango in the 1890s. People not wearing masks?! Walked into this Albertsons only to be blown away by the number of people who weren't wearing masks. I counted at least 11 people without masks. When I asked the young employee why they weren't enforcing their mask policy he said, "what am I supposed to do when they tell me they have a medical condition?" I love this grocery store because the parking lot isn't a complicated driving hazard and the employees are nice and helpful. I also tend to get a little anxious in overly crowded places and Albertson's seems to be less crowded then other places in town. I shop the sales, and haven't found this grocery store to be any higher priced then any where else. I also think they have the best meat in town besides Sunny Side. Thier butcher keeps it stocked and with fresh cuts, and thier buy one get one free sales are awsome!! read more

Clean store. Staff didn't greet me but I don't care about that so much. Under the weather on a work trip so I dropped in here for meds. Aisles clearly marked. Didn't have product scattered on the shelves. Ad a hometown vibe you don't often get these days. Even grabbed some candy for myself and a dog treat for when I'm back home. They need to clean up the trash in their lot. I've never seen so much trash at a place of business. Not very attractive place when you pull in and park, makes you wonder how the inside the store is going to look. Not a bad little place to do your shopping. It has a rewards card program. It also has a pharmacy, and a Starbucks inside. Because it has so many different things going on you can get a lot more done than just your grocery shopping. read more

One word: RUDE! At checkout, no greeting, no nothing. Plus, the cashier and another customer proceeded to chat about how disgusting the coconut water I had just purchased was. Umm... I can hear you! Then, as the rest of my group came to join me at the checkout, the cashier freaked out and said, "Are they all with you? I'm overwhelmed." Hello, have you never seen customers before? Or was it because we were all Asian?! Obviously this Albertsons doesn't get a lot of business as evidenced by the amount of shock the cashier felt over a mere handful of people... and I can see why they don't. This morning the bagger forgot to put one bag in my cart. Called right away, Shelly was very helpful in finding the bag since she was my clerk. She said she would put a note on them so I could pick em up. I start diner realizing the bullion I purchased was one of the items. My hubby put food away when I came home. So since I need item came into town to pick them up. I explained to clerk gave my name n showed receipt. She said I don't know, I don't see anything. She comes back twice n doesn't know where they are. In the mean time customers are in line for her service. The third time she came back I notice a Safeway bag on shelf. I told her is that my bag. She said I don't know. It clearly has a note on it with my name. As I'm reaching for it she says I'm not sure if it yours but you can have it. WHAT!!!! read more

I really like Albertsons! I always can find what I need and their bakery section smells sweet and yummy when you walk in which is really tempting. Nice produce selection and aisles of great stuff! Also has a nice big parking lot to accommodate a lot of people =D read more

Seriously rude staff. Gave me a bad impression on my first day here. Don the checker needs some customer service training. But more importantly, the food is questionable. In the badly organized frozen food area, many of the items had a thick layer of frost buildup. That can't bode well for the quality of the contents. I'll be looking for another place to find groceries in Durango. read more

I received the absolute worst service from this store. I was checking out on an evening where it was only myself and another customer checking out. We may have been the only customers in the store. The cashier was good and greeted me. While I was checking out there was 3 other employees, including the manager talking while the cashier and bagger worked. The bagger bagged all my groceries but left them on the counter and did not put them in my cart. I had to lift a 12 pack of water over the high counter and place it in the cart along with all my other groceries. Instead of completing his job, the bagger looked at me along with the other 4 employees and not one of them offered to help. I had quite a few bags as my purchase was over $100. I could not believe that they were not busy whatsoever and not one of them offered to help me put my bags into my cart. It was very obvious that they knew what they were doing to me. I complained to the manager and all I got was a sorry. Do not shop at this horrible store. They don't stalk their shelves and their service is terrible. Go to City Market. read more
