First time flying into Durango…read more Leaving the airport and getting out to the main road you come upon Upper East Side Liquors. My husband is always on the search for a new or unique bourbon. So what else do you do when you get into a new city? I don't know what you do, but we hit up the liquor store. Upper East Side did not disappoint. My husband found his holy grail bourbon, which is not found where we live in SC. But wait, one bottle per customer. So guess what, we frequented Upper East Side a few times before we left Durango. We had to reorganize our luggage. But we left happy. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We loved Durango. By the way there are many liquor stores in the area. We stopped at a few others but UESL had the best prices. See ya in the spring!!!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff and the store has monthly specials and events with brats & bands. No city tax so it's worth a stop for sure!

The place has cleaned up a lot and though it appears a little rough around the edges on the outside, the interior is quite charming. What once was a run down looking liquor store now has that small town, warm and inviting atmosphere that brought me back to Durango after leaving for time. The Owners Jay and Gin are some of the warmest and nicest people. It is a true family owned and operated business that has a really nice and friendly staff that is employed there now. I stopped shopping there years ago because of a rude owner. Place is clean and friendly now. I live nearby so it is nice to be within walking distance! If you haven't been in there lately, stop in. They have a great selection of wines that are priced well. I ordered a fancy bottle of Dom Perignon from them last year for Christmas. Their selection is not huge but the owners certainly do accommodate if you have a special request. They really seem to cater to "Local" companies also and have a lot of Colorado products. It's a great small family owned and operated business and they certainly earned my business again!

Their enthusiasm was infectious and exactly what small business is about. We bought a bottle of Cinder Dick bourbon for our beach sundowners and managed to pack in luggage with no breakage. Zack gave Paul a tour of the action behind the scenes while I tested the vodka. It was great. I wish I could have had some vermouth with it but they have to make it in order to sell it. Have a little nibble of something before you go - maybe a plate of ramen so the spirits have something to hold onto. Here is a picture of the boys - check out their delight in us stopping by. Had a flt of six and everything was on -point & true to style w/just enough skew to get a sense of the brewing artistry behind each offering. There was also a surprisingly diverse selection for the production size! They even had a collab (the Lazaro IPA w/Mancos Brewing). Nicky, the beertender, was phenomenal! Even after my 6 beer flt, he offered me a couple of samples to highlight some other styles on tap. If you like quality beers w/an anarchist ambiance (be sure to checkout the restroom!) then stop in and taste the Anarchy!

Perfect 15 minute stop…read more We were offered tasters of the wines but decided to go for a full pour of their Cab Sav and Rose, as we knew our party would be catching up with us soon. Both wines were perfect choices: big but balanced for the Cab Sav and slightly sweet for the Rose. So good. We took home a bottle of each - how could you not with their fabulous pricing? And since it was a Friday, they had live music from a great Celtic band, Tom Ward's Downfall. Such a cute place as well. Friendly folks, lively tunes and fabulous wine. Thanks for a lovely stop.
