SHOP AT WJ DOYLE: Crew, I recall meeting you and respect your opinion and although I shared more with I should have, the owners of WJ are awesome - especially, Molly. I accidentally sold to an underaged Durango Police intern that several witnesses and I had seen put town, in the bars drinking and seen her so drunk at the Zombie March that she could barely walk (additionally, I've seen her drink and drive). She came in the store, my partner an I both recognized her and being busy and distracted, I didn't ask for her ID. That's on me and not the owners or my partner. On the flip side, I offered to take a two week suspension and the Hamilton's agreed that it might be best that I resigned and so not to bring any more attention to them -- I did just that.
In the courtroom, I offered to the judge that i could come up with a half dozen witnesses that would attest that the police intern was not probably vetted but she's lush. I felt that the out of six people involved in the same sting operation, I was the only one that resigned and I remain a little bitter. Mostly because I understand that the Liquor Store was fined $800ish dollars buy the Colorado Department of revenue fine them. Sadly, since I am no longer employed by WJ Doyle, I can't work off that fine but maybe one way. I hope there and Molly treats me like family and Chris is cordial.
I've seen Molly and Chris's mother help the homeless with blankets, food and beverages (no booze but alternative choices) . These are good people and that's why you should shop there, Finally, Molly did go off at me while I was at work one time but it wasn't professional but personal. She was having a bad day and I made light of her bad mood and teased her about it and instead of cheering her up, I seemed to upset me more and YES, she went off on me as a friend and as not my boss and I couldn't have felt worse for her. She's a great lady, it's the best store in town and I'd like all of La Plata County to show at WJ Doyle. read more
