Wow! I didn't even know Dupure had such low ratings! I need to do a better job looking on Yelp before rushing into these large purchases. Meritage Homes hired them for free drinking water install so I thought why not. $1500 for a filter and $5,500 for both a filter and softener. The filter alone was insufficient as I was still breaking out in hives. I asked to speak with someone to work something out since $5,500 is an arm and a leg and I haven't heard from anyone though I've been reaching out since November 29th. Someone by the name of Ev said he was trying to call me back last night but it wasn't going through. I called back last night and today 5 times and my call is being "forwarded" to voicemail. I need help from the Yelp community on how I can get this filter uninstalled so that I can work with a different company. I don't want to have to take Zyrtec in order to avoid hives after taking a shower. It's been a true nightmare working with Dupure. I recently bought a new house that came with a Dupure 3-stage osmosis system. My wife and I were pretty excited about it, so we contacted customer service to learn more. They recommended replacing all three filters, so I went ahead and purchased them. They're very expensive--two are rated to last one year, and the membrane supposedly lasts two years. Even though the pricing seemed excessive, I was willing to live with it at first. The real issue started when I received and installed the replacement filters. I noticed the tubing was disconnected, but all the parts were there. I called customer service again to ask for some guidance on reconnecting it. To my surprise, they said they couldn't provide that information. I tried to escalate the call to speak with a technician, but they still refused to explain how to reconnect the tubing. Instead, they insisted on sending a service technician to my home--so they could do the work and charge whatever they wanted. That, to me, is terrible customer support. Because of this experience, I'm returning the filters and getting rid of the system altogether. I'll be buying another osmosis system--one that offers better support and for the fraction of the price. read more

Absolutely the worst service. Have used Dupure since I moved into the house in 2011. Since then, I have had to get rid of under sink water filtration because their service calls were more than the cost to buy and install a new (and better) system. In August, I had to have them come out to service and replace the ion exchange beads for the house water softener, $500. Reasonable as it was 14 years old. However, ever since then the device is chewing through salt because it wants to regenerate almost every day. After multiple calls and suggestions that did not work they want to come out and inspect for $200. just now NEW Don't ever use this company!!!! Our system was installed with our new home. DuPure contacted us to do our annual check. The cost was going be to $450 so we were hesitant to have them come. They emailed or called at least once a week until We finally agreed to do the check up. They came last week. We had to prepay the $450 with no guarantee of service, warranty, or support. The tech was in our home less than 12 minutes. Do the math. That $2250 a hour with their travel time included. Really. Who is worth that? We have a tankless water heater also. Both were working perfectly prior to the technician checking our system. After he left, remember it was 12 minutes, the water only stays hot for a few minutes, going completely cold. We called DuPure and reported the problem. They now want to charge us another service fee to come back out, stating they don't feel it is their fault. Can they prove it wasn't their fault? Again both products were working perfectly before they came. There's no customer service. They are only interested in getting your money. They refused to send someone back to check it without charging us again!!! Be aware of the lack of customer service if you decide to install their product. You will be paying way more for it than the original cost. We strongly recommend not using DuPure . We now have cold water, a system that is messed up and out money. We were crazy!!! read more

I have had a few companies install systems in my houses. I wish I had Dupure from the beginning. If you purchased a house with one of Dupure's partner builders, don't pass on the deal they give you. The contract clearly specified the system comes with lifetime warranty on parts and labor as the contract read as "we will take care of parts & labor @ no charge as lifetime warranty". We noticed the system was not working right and the technician came out and advise a new tank is required. The company denied the labor potion and quoted us $500 on the labor expense as they refuse to honor the labor expense but will only honor the part which is breach of the signed contract. It remains true to me that the technician's are quite good. I have no issues with them. However, customer service and product are the worst. For background, my water softener was originally installed in 2019 without a base for support at the side of my house; and over time, it started leaning forward, causing the piping to start leaking. I called earlier this year to complain about that and was told if they were to send someone to reseat it will be some exorbitant rate (about $300+), so I ended up installing a guard around the tank myself and re-tightening the pipes back in. Fast forward to 12/27/2022 and the inlet on the bypass valve broke and I have to call again on 12/28. They sent a technician who changed the valve (a less than $50 part, taking about 15mins to swap) and charged my card over $600. If that wasn't enough they also said the double check connection is leaking so they plan to charge $875 for that. How is it that a company has no warranty on its products, seems not to care extorting their customers in this way? If you are looking an ethical company, you best look elsewhere. read more

I ordered a water softener system with this company and have had nothing but issues. When they installed it they did something incorrectly and it ended up causing some leak that flooded my downstairs room closet. In addition to that the installer cut the cable line while I was taking my final exam so needless to say I failed. Dupure has made multiple promises to pay for the class and hasn't. The system isn't working few months and I've told them to come remove it. They haven't but has sent techs out every few months when you do get someone on the phone. Every time I ask for higher ups I may or may not get a call back. When a supervisor do call it's always "It just came across my desk let me look into this and call you back." 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Everything seemed okay at first, but after a year of having the water softener, I got a call saying it was time to replace the filters. I went ahead and ordered them but chose to put them on myself since the two filters requiring replacement were already over $200 and the service fee for having someone come change the filters was an additional cost of ~$150. When we received the filters, I tried to do it on my own but was confused, so I decided to wait until I could call customer service for assistance. When I got around to calling, i was told by the representative that he couldn't stay with me on the phone during the whole process and I would Hve to call back. He was helpful and empathized with my frustration: the new filters they sent did not match the original ones, as they were different colors & had different names than the originals; the pictures on the instructions did not match the system we had, and the terminology can be a bit confusing. Maybe I'm just a bit slow, but it almost seems like Customers are set up to fail and are then offered a technician to help for an additional cost, not including anything that would have to be replaced if something was broken while trying to self-install. I spoke to 2 people and they kept telling me it's an easy process and I should be able to do it myself. They bluntly said they cannot stay on the phone with me to help me, even though I kept saying I still had questions. And when I called back the third time, after being forced to hang up and call back, the lady who answered the phone said, "Didn't you just call? I just helped you. You're calling again?" When I explained the situation, she sounded a bit annoyed and transferred me to cust care only to find out, I WAS THE ONLY ONE ON QUEUE, according to the automated system. The whole process was outrageous and it's clear customers are not of any priority to this company. If you look at other review, you will see the same. The water in our area all of a sudden smelled and tasted horrible and I got an unsatisfactory response from the municipality. Since then I could no longer feel confident in our water so I began researching home water systems. I went with Dupure because of my Lowe's card and zero interest promotion. I got a whole house softener and also reverse osmosis for my kitchen. The installation was fairly smooth but I still had questions about the system and its maintenance. Rob came to my home and patiently explained all the parts and that their service will notify me about filter changes and such. It's not cheap (but much cheaper than Culligan) however I feel I've made a worthwhile investment because I already feel so much better about my water and specifically its taste, smell and quality. Gotta say!!!.....Lindell saved the day! Wow! He was amazing. We were in the process of "firing Dupure". We are now reconsidering mainly because of Lindell. This man did an excellent job. He made sure we were happy; and took pride in his work. Instead of the aloof attitude from the representative on the phone...this man actually wanted us to be happy. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Something Dupure has been missing since we have lived in our house in Spring, TX. For the past 3 years have NOT been happy with the service...and perhaps, the performance of equipment. Our system is older, but, we have Dupure come out & check system, and change all the filters. This cost $500-$600/year. The last time they came, the tech put the wrong main filter and told us our drain line was stopped up, and they would need to re-install a new line since they didn't keep records of location of their lines at time of our install. The original price quoted was going to be at least $10/LF + Labor with an estimated 65 feet of drain tubing. We negotiated "not digging" to avoid the extra labor...and reduced to estimated length to 35 feet. This was originally going to be above ground, and over top of sidewalk?!!! We were shopping for replacement system, and better service company when we decided to postpone this and compromise on where/how the new line would be installed. We made it shorter and more "traceable" by allowing Dupure to install at base of house foundation behind our landscaping to avoid damage or digging issues. read more

We've had the ultra Pur RO system for three years now. Finally had to change the filters (we have a whole house filter ahead of the RO) when ordering the filters we found that they changed filter design for this system. These new filters were 334.00 for the three filters, seems steep but alright. I followed the supplied instructions and found that two of the filters leaked at the manifold connection. Redid the whole process and found only one filter leaking, again went back through and still leaking ( in my opinion due to the new filters not matching design of three year old system). Called customer service and found that a service tech visit would be another 140.00. Customer service informed me that if it turned out to be a faulty filter the fee would be taken off. Not sure I want to take the chance of the tech in charge of my money. So for a week I've been fighting to get this not leak. I am now at the the point of writing off 335.00 and just buying a five stage competitor system for 234.00. Hind sight is always twenty twenty, but if you reread that last price you may just save yourself a hundred dollars and get a little more filter for less. read more

I had a reverse osmosis system installed under my sink and a multi stage in line fridge filter on September 9th. The installation went seamlessly. A hole was required to be drilled into the granite above my sink to fit the RO faucet and after the install, the faucet looked it came with the place! The install underneath the sink and the cabinet next to fridge was done very cleanly which maximized the amount of the cabinet I am able to use. The installers were cordial and went as far as to perform the water drain needed through the filter for me so I didn't have to sit there with glasses and constantly dump them in the sink. I purchased a D.R. Horton house back in April, and I scheduled my Dupure appointment for August. I ended up buying one of their systems because my neighbor really recommended it... I wish i had gotten the system when i first moved in because the white staining is gone and now i don't have to worry about it. The installation was timely and everything was very professional! My sales representative was very good at communicating with me even after everything was completed. He even came back after and inspected everything and retested the water! I ordered the wrong filters for my under sink system. I was told by their customer service, that I could use the filters I ordered, but they wouldn't work as well as the correct filters. I decided to use them because the correct filters were $160. I had been paying only $60 for the same filters for the past 15 years. Spooked by the $100 price increase, I decided to use the filters that I had ordered. But I learned that the filters were defective. Water would not pass through them and one of them leaked. So I called customer service again to see if I could have the filters I ordered with the correct filters. No can do. They would not accept my word that the filters were defective. They wanted to send a tech to my house and charge me $140 for the service call. That's about twice what my A/C guy charges and an air conditioner is a lot more complicated than water filters. I could not agree to that. I was told that I would not be charged for the service call if the filters really were defective. I didn't want to take a chance on that. It was suggested that my manifold might be at fault. A tech would likely find fault with my manifold and I would lose $140. The manifold is a simple device with just pipes. And it works fine with the old filters. I didn't want to take a chance on being scammed. They wouldn't accept the defective filters if I had run water through them, which I had when I installed them. I was still responsible for their cost. I was annoyed that they wouldn't consider a loss on them, just make a customer happy. And I was annoyed that the wouldn't trust my diagnosis.
