My experience dates back 8 years when we bought our new home from Coventry Homes. I am normally a person who investigates before plunking down $1,000 on anything. However when you are buying a Half million dollar home plus upgrades all over the place your sense of reality goes out of the window - to the point that I was talked into spending $5,000 on a DuPure water softener system. Complete and utter waste of money based on our experience and zero customer service.Their business model (at least when we were sold their "system") seems to be that they install a box outside your house, tell you (the installer told us) how they are going to regularly service, with filter replacements etc., then the rep drives off into the sunset and you are $5,000 poorer. Never heard another word from him or the company after 8 years. Nothing! Basically the system appeared to do NOTHING, and furthermore it is so poorly installed and built that it froze up twice causing water fountains outside of our home (we were traveling and there was an unexpected brief cold front. So after 3 years of BS and further expense I paid a (different) company to come and de-install the little box of horrors (another $250 down the drain) and put it in the trash where it belonged. I saw no difference between the water and the mineral build up (in the shower for example) before or after the useless device they installed for me was ripped out. I realized my mistake when I first started to have problems and used Google (as I should have done before buying) and Yelp to learn from the experience of others. I guess (home) buyer beware - your defenses are down when you are looking at upgrade after upgrade. If and when I buy another home - this will NOT be on the list! read more

Our water softener system is the first we have ever had and so far so good. However, my review is based on the customer service. Even prior to Covid-19, their support has been terrible!! It's nearly impossible to speak with someone on the phone or by email and if you do get someone it's almost always a day or two later. How can you run a company without helping your customers. They have been the worst company that I have ever had to deal with. I have been calling on behalf of my daughter who purchased a home from KB Builders. I have been calling since the beginning of July to make an appointment to have the Ultra Filter Dual Stage Drinking water Filtration System installed. Every time I finally got to talked to someone I kept getting passed off to someone else. Told them every time I wanted to schedule an appointment to have the system installed. I called on Monday to get new filters and was told it was close to $200 for 2 filters plus shipping. Fine, I went ahead and ordered it. I opened my box today and it's the wrong filters! I'm super frustrated due to the fact that they came to my house last year, it was a total of $250 for filters AND someone to look at my system. This year it would of been close to $500 for everything, which makes no sense. Per the girl I spoke to, "last year there were discounted filters" and that the filters go on discount every so often. I've been on their email list for the past year and haven't had any discounts and according to her that's because I a whole year they haven't gone on sale, yeah..ok... It's Saturday, I'm having to wait another 2 days just to call to tell them they sent me the WRONG filters and I'm pretty sure they will be charging me another ridiculous shipping price again. You would think that they would have the correct system on their computer but nope. I've found my filters online for half the price that dupure is charging. Firstly, I would like state that I am most definitely not paid by Dupure to write this. But I didn't need Dupure water filtration. So I asked for it to be removed. Although Victor came late, not his fault, he was so helpful, beyond my belief. Not only was he so patient to explain the system (water softner) and what it does, uninstall the old filter, but he also HELPED ME with my other filter system. He was so patient, helpful non-fussy, amazing, empathetic when I was clawing away trying to get my system to work. He didn't get up and say, "Well my job is done with uninstalling! Bye!" He actually helped me install it and was such a gentleman about it. Dupure, you have a GEM employee in Victor. While i might not be using your water filter, I work in IT support and i deal with business users and Victor is that kind of person you want to keep to keep business happy! Great person!!! read more

There was a leak under the sink at our rental house. This company (Dupure) sent a technician to fix the leak. Our renter paid first and then requested us to reimburse the $252.11. When we received the bill we noticed Dupure charged for 2 filters ($130) for the inactive old system which was disconnected years ago. We called and asked what these 2 filter charges were and were told the technician changed new filters. We communicated with Dupure that 2 filters were not needed as the system was not active. The technician should know better since the filters were not needed. We called multiple times and even told them they can take the filters back and refund us $130. After couple months, we were exhausted and never get this issue resolved. The technician should never have installed two new filters in the inactive system. Very disappointing at Dupure. read more

Bought a top of the line whole house filter in 2017 from the Houston Dupure Dealer. We are still happy with the unit, the service I have received and have not had any problem scheduling annual services since purchasing/installation. Filled out the web form last week and got a call back within 24 hours and a tech visited three days later, serviced my unit and replaced my filter inside last Friday. My skin loves that it solved the hard water problem for us that we have in Katy. Between the softer water and the Enduroshield coating we had installed on our shower enclosure, the glass still looks like it did the day we moved in. Neither was cheap, but both were well worth it IMHO. read more

We purchased a TrendMaker model home. The water filter was already installed and included or I would not have spent the money to purchase the system. We called on multiple occasions and found that the service policies was lacking and that filters cost way to much! We tried to solve the service issues by purchasing more filters at a bundled price to only get more frustrated. I'm sure this was due by the previous leadership who has since left the company. In the end we had new counter tops installed and had the system removed. Hope they turn it around because the people are nice. read more

Honestly, when they first showed up, I was going to turn them down. They ended up showing me their water testing results and showed me the difference in the feel of the water with the Dupure system hooked up. I was blown away. When you take a shower, you feel like the shampoo and never comes off your hair/skin. It even cleared up my face. It's great! When washing my car, it doesn't leave white circles on the car when it drys. You will not get white rings around your faucet if you don't wipe it up immediately. I got the best filter system they had (no maintance required except for buying salt which is $2.50 a bag and 4 bags 4-6 months depending on your water usage). In my option, it is worth the $6,000. If you don't think you can pay it off in one- two years, I would back away because the interest rate is 15-20%. Overall, it's a great product. When people come over and use the water/shower, they ask why it's so slimy. read more

We took dupure system when we were living in first house. IT was expensive. In two years we moved to new house, guess what!! they charged $2800 to move the unit to new house. within a year, then unit ffailed and stopped working. They charged $136 for making appointment. They charged total of $500 for fixing the unit, which failed at no fault of ours. DO NOT EVER BUY this System. 3/22/17 Here we go again. I need to be able to post a -5 stars for this company and their products. This time the "membrane" failed on the softening system. This catastrophic failure has released thousands upon thousands of resin beads throughout my water lines and system. Dupure DOES NOT install a filter or screen to stop these beads from entering your system if there is a failure. Now, here we go again with their "warranty". I have to pay $190 for someone to show up and repair the system. And on top of this, because they don't have a screen installed, they want $50/Hour to flush my water lines. So, I guess in a matter of just 4 months, we go from $139 for a warranty visit to $189. Whatever you do, DO NOT call Dupure for a water filtration system. 11-30-2016 If I could remove the 1 star I would....Wow, here we go again. We have been in our house for two years and it has a Dupure system installed. We have had no success when it comes to their customer service department wanting to take care of customers that have warranty issues but have to shell out $139 for a tech to show up because of equipment failures. So I understand that systems have issues, anything mechanical or electrical will fail at some time. It's a guarantee. However, today with my system, I encountered an Er 0 message followed by a UD SYch code. Water was just pouring out of the system, no telling how much water went down the drain line, I will find out with my HUD water bill. It took two attempts at calling customer service before I talked to someone. The first time, I left a message and 20 mins later, still not response and tried again. Finally getting to someone, I was on hold for about a total of 15 mins before getting to Marquez. I informed him of my issue and he tells me it's a motor failure. My unit is under warranty but the labor to show up is $139. WOW!!! The earliest appointment is 6 days out!!! However, if I wanted to pay more, I could get an appointment earlier. So, your equipment fails, covered under warranty, but to get excellent customer service I have to pay more....Brilliant!!! So is this how you treat customers that have systems under warranty? So we're supposed to wait 6 days without a working system because I have to bypass the system. I ask then to speak to the service manager and he said it would take 24 hours before Natalie would contact me. Unbelievably poor customer service! I had an RO system put in exactly 1 year ago, okay correction, 1 year and 2 days ago. The faucet for the RO water is leaking. I was rudely told that the faucet is no longer in warranty because it expired in August, 2 days ago. I told the agent I just found out after paying $100 to a plumber to check the leak that I booked in August and just came out today. "Sorry sir, your system is not under warranty but you do need regular service, filter change, etc." I told the agent I would not do anything with Dupure if they did not honor the warranty and probably said if forcefully. She hung up on me! I called back and apparently no one was available. Receptionist was nice and said she would have someone call me back. I asked to have manager call me but not holding my breath. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable company for your filtration and water needs. Dupure does not stand by their product and their customer service is horrible. read more

Rep was okay. Told him we wanted a purifier and softener, but continued to try and sell us on fake info. I don't need to make my water alkaline nor do I care about chloramine. Installer came few days later. Told us how it would be setup. He was unable to finish this day. Came back another day with an additional worker. Left shoe prints all over house. When they were almost done we saw what they had actually done and it looks awful in our laundry room. Told them we were absolutely unsatisfied because it doesn't look like anything they said or had shown us in the sales material. Sales manager called us and guaranteed they would call us Monday or Tuesday of the next week to schedule a day to come fix it. Called on Tuesday and said they were 30 minutes away. No heads up or scheduling. Came in and the main guy is masked but is coughing a lot! But they said this was the only way they could do the install and that they were happy with it. He told me they use the black water hose (my words) material because it's the only thing with the proper I.D. or O.D. So they left... I asked if they thought this would be worthy enough to be pictured in the front page of their catalogue, and they said yes. They have very low standards. I would not recommend them to any friends or family. I would be much happier had we not ever let them in our new house. If you do use them ask for pictures of what your entire installation will look like. There aren't pictures of the drain. Hope this helps someone not go through our same woes. read more

I had call them to move it but they said they won't and haven't... I was told I will get free soup and other things when signing never got a catalog or any of my free times... BUYER BEWARE: I love Costco. Unfortunately, I've been sadly disappointed with the purchase of an ECOWATER whole home softener system that cost me $7200 in may of 2017. It started from the beginning of my purchase. The sales guy, Kyle, was good. The problem ensued when I contacted Dupure weeks later wanting to know where my system was and why it hadn't been installed yet. I found out that my system had been dropped or damaged and they had to order a new one. Over a month after purchase, my softener system was finally installed! Again, that was just the beginning! During the install of my reverse osmosis drinking water system, the technician told me that a specific filter that was needed for the alkaline was on back order and that they would have to come back out once they get them. That took approximately 3 weeks. Even though I paid for the system in full on day one, I didn't get to use a fully operational water softener system for 2+ months. Once everything was now installed, the drinking water smelled and tasted putrid! Again, I had to call and have them send out a tech. Once he arrived, he explained that I would have to allow the tank to fill and drain it multiple times. That took a couple of days. Once complete, the drinking water was great! Part of the install is setting up a water line to your refrigerator. During the initial installation, the tech debated with me on why I don't need it now. I explained to him that I paid for it, it's part of the install, and I want what I paid for! I hadn't used the water from the refrigerator since the installation, but nearly two months later after everything was working, I tried! Low and behold there was no water pressure and all I got was a very slow leak of water from the dispenser. Back on the phone I went to set up another appointment! The tech came out to inspect some time later that week. He told me I would need a permeate pump and that it would cost in excess of $300. I emphatically explained to him that I was told at purchase that everything would work, including the refrigerator, and that I'm wasn't paying a cent more! After debating who was going to pay for this pump, I called his supervisor and she apologized and said they would take care of it. For my troubles, they gave me my first annual service of the system and a change of filters at no cost, as well as install a permeate pump at no cost to me. 3 1/2 weeks later, the pump was finally installed after multiple calls to the support line. Now we are 4 or 5 months into the purchase and the softener system has finally been installed completely. The system was working beautifully for about 2 months and then it started psycho texting me! Every 5 seconds at around 9 am I would receive text after text from the system saying "warning: continuous water flow". I thought I had a leak in my house and had to pay a plumber to come out and check. Turns out there were no leaks and he recommended calling the softener system company. Here we go again! 3 times I had to have a technician out to my house to check the system and all 3 times they couldn't find anything wrong. The texting from the system continued nearly everyday for months. Finally, on my 4th visit from a senior service tech this time, the tech told me it was a known software issue. He pushed a few buttons and said it was fixed now. Whew! Some relief! A few weeks later, it started again! My final remedy was to disconnect the system from my internet. That was in April of 2018. I have now been trying to return the softener system and get a refund. That poses its own problems due to Costco's return policy. Hopefully the Costco regional manager and I can come to a resolution very soon! In closing, if my softener tech is at my house more than the cable guy...that's a big problem! If the Bentley of water softeners costs $7200 and the Kia is less than $1000, but the Bentley is always in the shop and the Kia never has any problems, stick with the Kia! Be extra careful when you request service appointments. They require a credit card number before they will schedule for a technician to come out. When they complete the service they don't give you an itemized bill for you to sign for the total charges that will be put on your card before they leave either. They will also tell you a service is under warranty and charge extra labor cost for it. You will only find out how much extra you are charged when and if you look at your credit card statement. And, when you call them about the problem you should prepare yourself to not have a reasonable answer. They will find all reasons to tell you that their business process does not allow their technicians to issue work order with cost information when they recommend additional work at job sites. But, they don't seem to have the concept that as a business they have the responsibility to provide transparency to the customers especially when it comes to cost details. This is pretty ironic when they require the customers to be totally transparent about credit card numbers up front so they don't have to worry about collection issues. If you choose to use Dupure, always ask for detailed work order to review before you agree on the work and price when they recommend additional services even if it's under warranty. Always ask for an itemized bill in writing before the tech leaves so you can validate all the charges. Otherwise when you call to question the charges you will be told that is was a simple misunderstanding. If you continue to raise the issue, they will tell you that everything is said and done and they would be happy to provide you with a work order after they already charged your card. There are definitely issues on poor customer service and questionable business practice on the billing process. Be very careful if you do business with them, as you might be handing your credit card to them to charge what they want the minute you call to make appointments unless you get all the prices clarified and in writing. read more

I really wanted to write a good review for this company, since I've been pretty happy with the product overall. We had a hard water treatment and filtration system installed while we were building our home in 2015. Only heard from them once after the install, and whenever I tried calling to have routine maintenance performed on the unit, I sat on hold for over fifteen minutes, only to be dumped back to a recording, asking me to leave a message. The final straw for me was when I called last month to schedule a removal and re-install of the unit, in our new home. Never got through by phone. Went to the Dupure FB page and filled out a request, only to be told that they would forward my request. After a month and over 20 calls into their office I finally heard back last week and was told it would cost me close to $1000 to move the unit. Worst customer service experience of my life. There are several other providers out there (Culligan, Aqua Tex, etc), who I'm sure would love to have my business. read more

Not a fan of this company. It came with my new home, so we had to use them. I wasn't aware that when I signed up for a water softener and reverse osmosis that it would be with a specific company and not just a generic system from Home Depot. This company was the one that is installed in KB Homes. They never pick up the phone. The recorder always says everyone is busy and then after 4-5 minutes you are transferred to a message machine and NO ONE ever calls you back. I have left 8 messages over the course of 6 months and only received one call back, the next day. I always have to keep calling back. They never have a technician that can come out next day or very quick in general. Usually its 4-6 days later. The systems are nothing special. Erik (Eric) has been the only person that has been helpful and return calls. I would give one more star if the phones were answered consistently, especially in the mornings before 10am. One more star if someone returned the messages within an hour if them being left. And then one to two stars if the technicians would come out same day or next day. read more

I will not recommend this company (Dupure) their services and products are exuberantly overpriced. I had a really bad experience with this company. Back in January 2021. It was my understanding that they were to provide a full overhaul of the water softener system in place. And the drinking water filters. This is how they sell it. you are depending on their expertise to guide you. they sent out a service technician who changed two filters under my sink & pressed a self cleaning button for the cost of $481. 33 I call back Dupure customer service and explained that I believed that a whole process was to be performed on the water softener system not to unscrew & screw in two filters & push a self-cleaning button. also when I called Dupure customer service and told them paying $481.33 to unscrew and screw in two filters and push a reset button is not good Businness. But they where not willing to work with me. I am a victim of a scam and price gauging. read more

When I bought my Ryland home in 2012 they were offered as a water softener system. Did I have to go with them when I bought my home? No! But their salespeople came by and explained to me in detail what their system could offer compared to their competitors. I thought they were kind of pricey at first but I asked about a military discount and their manager gave me a nice discount on my system for being a veteran. The person who came to install my system did it right the first time and on time. They offered me maintenance of my system but I haven't had them to come check the place out. All my neighbors who live in the neighborhood have used them too. Some did have issues when their system was installed but DuPure came out and fixed their system. My neighbor across the street asked me one day to monitor them for her since was an older lady. They respected her and didn't try to give her the run around and their technician didn't know I was in the house listening in. My reverse osmosis system has been one of the best investments along with the water softener system. Having my water softener has improved my skin from being dry all the time. I use less soap whether it's taking showers, washing clothes, or dishes. My dishes come out crystal clear and there is not as much calcium build on my faucets as before. I recommend to do your homework before going with any business. One thing I would recommend to management/owner is that with all these reviews they take them seriously. I for one haven't experienced bad customer service since I have been a customer with them. read more
