I am so happy with my service at this establishment. The service was exceptional, I spoke with Yanil who helped me so much. She was patient and really understood the look I was going for. I went back 3 times to find exactly what I wanted. I am very particular about colors and Yanil was very talented in picking color combinations that I liked. I have unusual taste and was worried that she wouldn't "get" what I was looking for but she really did. Every person I interacted with was professional and polite. I highly recommend visiting here when you have a paint need. I was painting my house which can be overwhelming but was enjoyable with Yanil. My husband and I recently purchased a new home and wanted to give the place a new look. So we decided to give it a nice fresh coat of paint. Our painter suggested we go to Dunn Edwards to pick out our desired paints and he will go and pick them up for us to start the job. Excited, we walked in to this North Hollywood location, with our masks on of course, and walked straight to the color wall. I was picking the small paper colors and one of the workers, an older woman, told me that I had to wear gloves to do that. Which I respectfully did. If that's their policy then of course we will follow it. So we put on the disposable gloves they had and continued looking at the paper colors. The same woman helped us when we were having some trouble finding some of the samples which was super nice of her. She even told us we could purchase small samples of the paints for $4.99 to try them at home. So we decided to do just that. But by the time we went to the cashier she was gone. A younger woman by the name of Jasmine was behind the cashier. As soon as we approached the desk and put down the paper samples and we're going to tell her which ones we needed she said "guys guys guys, I need you to step back and not come close to the counter" in a very nasty tone. We ignored the tone and did as she asked. Then we told her the 3 names of the colors we would need samples for. Then she says that they come in velvet finish and we asked what that is and she said "VELVET FINISH" keep in mind this was our first time picking out colors and know very little about "finishes". So then I said could you please elaborate. She then took out a long sheet of paper that had all the finished on there like velvet and semi shine and so on. Then my husband asked "what is the difference between them" and in an even worse tone and attitude she said "you don't know what the difference is?!" With a making fun smirk on her face. And I said no we actually done because this is our first time buying this type of paint. So it would help if you could help us and tell us the difference. To which is once again pointed to the paper with the photos of different finishes. We could not believe she had not only a bad attitude but making fun of us for not knowing the differences. It was extremely unprofessional and rude of her. We paid for the samples and walked out but we will NOT be purchasing our paints from there. Worst experience ever! read more

I came here a few times to purchase paint and paint supplies for a mural I painted last month. Each time I was greeted by the employees and Andrew, the color specialist, gave me a lot of great advice. I had a lot of questions and this was my first mural project so it was a bit of a learning curve for me. Andrew was patient and looked up information or asked his coworkers when he did not know. He also gave me some color suggestions and tips on how to apply the paint. In addition, he printed out product information sheets that I could take home with me to review. One evening I showed up and they were about to close, but Andrew was very patient in getting my huge order in. I didn't want to stay after 5 PM, since they'd be closed then, but Andrew told me not to worry about rushing and to just go ahead and get what I needed. How kind and helpful! One morning I needed to get another color of paint and my boyfriend went in to purchase it for me. The employees in the store were able to find my account in their system easily and to add that paint to it. Overall, I really appreciated their consistent efficiency in service and how everyone went out of their way to make sure I was a satisfied customer. If and when I have more painting projects that require me to purchase Dunn Edwards paint I will definitely come back to this location! Five stars all the way! read more

We have been going to this DE the past 7 months. Rosario Hernandez, their professional color advisor/consultant has been AMAZING. She helped us picked all the colors for the house that we recently painted and sold & for the house that we just bought. And it's incredible, her knowledge and creativity bring so much elegance and charm to our houses. AND this is a free service offered by DE! We used 2 designers prior to Rosario but didn't like the colors they picked. Rosario has a great sense in picking colors that go well for the entire house. Also, TONY from this DE is Wonderful. He helped us with picking the appropriate sheens for the different areas of the house. I needed a small amount of paint for a door. I had an old can with the color I wanted that I bought from them a long time ago, it had more that I needed but the canister was rusted and drop some rust inside. Jose, Calvin and Tony helped me and they got rid of the rust, they mix the paint and change it to a new canister, of course, after they checked that the paint was in good condition! Thanks guys, Anywhere else I would have had to buy another can of new paint, and they would not have taken the time to remove the rust so carefully. You come in one day ask for Swiss coffee flat, the guy tells me I have to wait cause they have to mix it as its not a stock color. I was surprised because I know it's a stock color but what do I know. Next day I come in extra early and ask to get Swiss coffee mixed, the same guy tells me it's a stock color so I don't have to wait. I do end up waiting for another simple gallon of flat paint for 45minutes with 1 other client inside. Slowest Dunn Edwards store I've ever been to and I've been to most of them in LA area. read more

Have never had a misunderstanding at a Dunn Edwards that wasn't resolved with the utmost courtesy and respect. The attendant here denied that I had ordered a semi gloss gallon. I know I had because I had my phone out when ordering looking at differences between gloss and semigloss finishes for bathrooms and then I specified "the same color as the old can but in semigloss this time". When I came back to return what I discovered was a gallon of flat, the attendant said I didn't say semigloss and when I said you can't say that I didn't because I did, he called me "crazy"! He could have said I didn't hear you but not I didn't say it. So poor customer service. The second attendant apologized and diffused the disrespect of the first. read more

Was looking to revamp my new home w some paint and as we all know it can be a little hectic *enter crazy emoji* I walked into Dunn's looking around getting even more confused, I had several WTF moments. Thankfully Monica was nice enough to help me and my clueless brain. She explained the diff. between gloss and semi gloss and god know what else there is. She brought out the paint fanner thing (don't know the name of it, hello clueless here) and suggested for me to take sample home before I commit (commitment issues *yikes*) and it seriously was the best suggestion everrrrrrrrrrr. I hate giving one star reviews but wow this place deserves a 0 ! Basically I purchased over 2,000 dollars in paint. I was short 2 gallons so went picked up 2 more gallons for touch ups. Start touching up the whole house next day wait for the paint to dry I see all the places I touched up is a light Verano beach color! That's ok maybe they messed up I'll go and get the right mix and redo all the work I already did! That's where I meet Raul who I took a sample of the new paint and old paint to show your wrong on color even the mixture code on the boxes are different. He's answer oooo well you have to buy new paint..... Are you kidding me !!! Basically they didn't care!!! Didn't even offer to free gallons of paint for their mess up ! After all this I waited 1 hour to have someone mix 2 gallons of paint ! Lot of people told me Dunn Edwards was the place to go for paint but I will never ever think about going here again! read more
