I've probably been coming to this store for close to a decade if not longer. This is THE spot to go to when you're looking for just that odd piece of hardware. As far as I know it, the store would buy surplus from the various govt contract shops and companies around the area so you can find all sorts of weird and interesting stuff here. This is where I come when I need that odd bolt, o-ring or anything that the generic palces don't have. I was looking for an odd o-ring size for an air compressor for my truck. The company that makes it wouldn't sell me one. Sure enough Luky had plenty to go through and I found THE ONE that fit better than original. Prices will always be better than anywhere else. This should always be your first stop for any hardware need. read more

This is my go-to if I need one specific screw to hang something up or for crafting. I always bring what I'm looking for and someone always is there to help me (because finding something on your own in there would be tough). This place is a true model of neatness and order. Their organization skills alone are astounding. We came when we read somewhere they specialize in all sorts of things including airplane salvage. I have been here a bunch of times. I find it interesting. The place is extremely organized. And they are very reasonable on price. There is a huge pile of these and those. The only problem is the inventory does not fit the common selection you usually see at a hardware store. This is an "odds and ends" kind of store. They do have screws, nuts, bolts, and washers. But whether you find the correct size is unlikely. Come here and cross your fingers. read more

I've been shopping at Luky's for years. I go there anytime I need fasteners or hardware for "special" projects, because Luky's isn't your usual hardware store. She carries surplus aircraft fittings, fasteners, high-pressure AN fittings and lines, military nuts & bolts, bearings, and an assortment of government issue trinkets and parts. I built hot rods, so every detail matters. When off the the shelf nuts & bolts don't cut it --surplus aircraft fittings add the extra coolness to make my car stand out. I can get those here as well as other unusual size fasteners, made of exotic metals, or with rare finishes. read more

As always, a pleasant surprise to get amazing one on one service again. I went in needing a 10-24 Alan bolt and nut that was wearing out on my fabricated heel-toe shifter for my Harley that a friend had put together. I took the nut and bolt there not knowing what the dimensions were and Luky took time to figure out exactly which nut and bolt I needed. I couldn't believe she was spending so much time with me for a 25 cent item. I ended up buying three more for the future for a whopping bill of $2.00. I gave her $5 and told her to keep the change (big spender) and told her she just saved my marriage and she said with her sense of humor, "glad to oblige". Easily one of the coolest rare and unique parts and hardware stores in the LA area. I usually find something to work for whatever project I'm working on but I always find lots of little things I can't live without. I could spend hours in here digging through their stash. I have been here a couple times. They have everything you need for any project you have. They have pre made hoses or they make the exact hose you need while you wait. They have tons of bolts and nuts. They also have heim joints and crimp on electrical terminals. I bought bolt's here for my Jeep that would have been $1.50 each at McMaster Carr (only retail place that sells them). I got 30 of them for $5!! I got a Boeing air ram for $10 I was planning to use on my Jeep. They have all kinds of stuff here. You could spend days here and not even see half of the stuff in the store read more

I came in here to get a shock hose fixed of of my husband's truck. I know absolutely nothing about trucks and I tried to explain what I needed as best as possible. I found Luky's to be overpriced. They buy Guv'mint surplus nuts, bolts, washers, hydraulic lines, etc. on the cheap, and turn around and sell them at top prices. So if you are looking for regular SAE or Metric nuts and bolts go to OSH. read more

I followed my friend here who needed some stuff. He said I should just look around because I'd be sure to find something interesting. Sure thing, they had a box of random trinkets and as I sorted through them I picked out a few charms. Throughout the store they have a lot of things that I have no idea what they're used for. For the non-mechanic, it's a good place to find cool-shaped objects to use in an art project, to decorate a frame or make jewelry. I'm not giving it 5 stars because most items are not priced, and you don't know how much you're spending till you get the register. Still a great place for all screw nuts bolts parts, angle brackets, CASTERS, hoses fittings, spacers, stoppers, some electrical. Warning: virtually NO metric sizes though. I also have to recommend the one no one knows just a few blocks to the West: V F Sales - the same thing with different owners. I had broken my Herman Miller Aeron office chair armrest. I needed a replacement bolt that had a very specific size/thread. I went to lowes, home depot, Ace, and nobody had the size. I called a Herman Miller repair center and they wanted a small fortune. Luckily (no pun intended) I drove by Luky's, showed him the bolt, and he was able to miraculously find the EXACT bolt. WOW. I went back to the office and fixed my chair. Thank you so much, you have earned a new customer, and I'll be back for sure 100%. read more

There was only ever one better place to get this kind of stuff and that was Joe Factors. This place is run by the employee he relied on for years. She just has a much smaller building across the street from his old location. The only downfall is less selection. Even so, her selection is going to be one of the best in the entire country. Everything here comes from military and aerospace surplus. You want a nut the government paid $50.00 each for? They prolly have it. No worries though, you won't pay 50 bucks for it. She will charge you by the pound. The prices are very reasonable there. All sold by weight. There are also other strange items. pumps, boxes, catches and who knows? I have been going to Joe Factor and now Lucky since the 70's. There is no better choice anywhere that I have found. read more
