Today and every six weeks, I go there for pet food. They carry Science Diet and in the dry and canned formula that I need. The employees there are extremely friendly and helpful. Employees like Ruby and Domenica are cordial and attentive. Pets are welcome there and it was a treat to take our dog, Olive, there for a food purchase. Even she was greeted by a young employee who thought she was cute.

I looked around the store enough to tell myself I want to go back when I have more time to look around. They have their own parking so no need to look for street parking because finding parking in West Hollywood is terrible. The hardware store held my delivery for 4 days as I did not have time to pickup same day and they gave me no problem or attitude. I did ask for something they didn't have and they made a couple of suggestions where I might find it. Very helpful. I will be back and I recommend to fellow Yelpers and friends.

No waiting for a floor person to come to your aisle and give you wrong info! Today I had to replace two door locks and have them keyed to my old key. It was done quickly (there's a $9.50 charge for each lock re-key so it was $38 & the cost of the two locks and 2 extra keys, just over $100 but, having a locksmith out would have cost at least twice that amount. It's a great mom and pop feeling old fashioned hardware store and much appreciated.

They will guide you through the a-la-carte screws, nails, nuts, and bolts with expertness, making sure that the style, strength, and size of the hardware fits your project's needs. The prices for most items are competitive with big box stores-- items like PVC pipe, wood filler, and hardware are cheaper at Altadena Hardware in a side-by-side comparison to big box stores. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!

Parking is limited and prices are high, but they are open on Sundays and they are much easier than dealing with Home Depot. If there's something that you need, and you don't want to purchase it on Amazon because you want to feel and see and measure it, this is a nice little shop. I don't come here often because of the prices and the parking, but it's nice to know that Ace in Studio City is there when I need it. They have really good staying power! They've been here for many years! They must be doing something right.
