"Take the last train to Clarksville I'll be waiting at the…read morestation We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses And a bit of conversation" (The Monkees) Congamond Coffee & Café has a large and very beautiful seating area with a very eclectic furniture mix. I saw wood dining room chairs, upholstered living room chairs, small tables, big tables that would be at home in your dining room, sofas, love seats, and game tables for checkers. And to make things even better was the generous spacing between the tables, so you never get the feeling that you're crammed in next to another party who might overhear your deepest darkest self-incriminating statements. We stopped in for late morning coffee and pastries, and learned their coffee is a special kind of coffee. Their coffee is "shade-grown" meaning the beans are allowed to ripen more slowly to enhance the flavor. We ordered an Americano (2 oz. Espresso, 6 oz. Water for $3.50), a drip coffee, a Cinnamon Bun ($4.50), and a Spinach Feta Danish. I had the Americano and the Danish and they were both very good. I never heard of "shade grown" coffee before, but I was impressed with the flavor profile. And that Spinach Feta Danish was fantastic. Congamond has a big food and drink menu with coffees, lattes, chais, smoothies, and hot chocolate, breakfast, lunch, and snack selections. The only less than stellar component of our experience was customer service. Yes, our orders were taken and announced promptly, but there was no hint of friendliness, courtesy, or customer engagement at all. Perfunctory kind of says it best.

How about setting up shop in New York and New England in the fall and early winter then heading down south when the temperatures fall up here, but it's gorgeous in Florida. Welcome to the glorious world of the Cinnamon Bun Saloon. First of all, kudos to their staff, they were super cool, outgoing, and a joy to interact with. We caught up with them today when their food truck was parked at Coward Farms in Southwick, MA. They're short timers up there and will only be around December 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th before rolling down to Florida. They travel a circuit, setting up for business at places like the Big E, Florida Strawberry Festival, Florida State Fair, Dutchess County Fair, Toppsfield Fair, Rochester Lilac Festival, NC State Fair, and the Fire Station on Tunxis Avenue in Bloomfield, CT. Their food menu includes a seasonal rotation of baked goodness such as Cinnamon Buns, Chocolate Covered Bananas, Chocolate Covered Cheesecake, Caramel Apples, Strawberry Shortcake, Eclairs, Cream Puffs. Their beverage menu includes Fruit Smoothies, Frozen Lemonade, Hot or Iced Coffee, Espresso, Lattes, Cappuccino, Frappuccinos, Coffee, Espresso, Latte, Cappuccino with tons of flavor options. We picked up four massive cinnamon buns for $26.34 after tax. Unless you are a marathon runner or a glutton, each one is easily shareable. They were so good! Fresh and soft with all the sticky gooey cinnamoney goodness you'd expect. A nice surprise was the vanilla icing, although delicious, was not overly sweet. So, if you can get your buns up to Southwick to get one of their buns before Sunday, you won't regret the trip. If not, catch them somewhere along their East Coast travels.

Yes! Cruising…read morethrough the big city of Southwick, I just had to stop in to this lovely roadside donut shop I was greeted warmly upon walking in, and was immediately served There was a wonderful selection of specialty donuts that I think were separated in two different showcases. I had to try the s'mores donut. And the showcase towards the back wall displayed all the regular donuts at $17 a dozen I also ordered a dozen of those donuts The s'mores donut was really fresh with the exception of the graham cracker topping, which was stale, not crunchy. The different flavors of it really popped with the exception of said graham cracker. This was really good. Now the dozen regular donuts... I started with the spiced powdered doughnut that was absolutely stunning delicious with the different flavors, exploding in my mouth, created such an enjoyable experience The chocolate covered donut, another fresh donut made that morning, and it just popped I shared the rest of the donuts with my neighbors Mrs. Murphy's donuts is operating on a weird schedule. It's like hit or miss, so it'll probably be best to call before visiting. Thank you, Mrs. Murphy's for the wonderful experience. Hope to see you soon.

The donuts were very reasonably priced and delicious. We also tried the egg sandwiches, they were huge, made to order, and really hit the spot. The coffee was fantastic. It was smooth and flavorful, a perfect complement to the breakfast. My only minor complaint was the cheese danish, which had a flavor more like butterscotch than cheese, which I wasn't expecting. Overall, a great spot for breakfast sandwich or a sweet treat.

Either way you'll have a great meal and service, but this location just felt like I was a guest in someone's home. Especially with that really nice outdoor seating area, where you can view the beautiful garden it was just such a relaxing time dining here, I didn't want to leave. In times past I always usually get a hot coffee drink or one of their hot teas but this time I asked for the Witches blend iced and it was soooo refreshing on this warm day. Definitely would ask to get one of their teas iced if the day is warm. Also, these folks know how to make a good crepe, that's my favorite thing to get from them, but you can't go wrong with anything honestly. I sometimes will get their house made bagels and that's delicious as well. Simple food, excellent flavors, and a beautiful place in the hills; what more could you ask for?
