Girlfriend was very interested in the tacos, so we opt for a trio of their spicy tacos. Service was quick and we found a seat to dig in. Overall, the chicken was tasty but the rest was okay. The sauce was kind of like franks red hot but a bit tangier but a little milder. It's a solid sauce, but I usually prefer a little more heat. The taco shells were generic, out of a bag tortillas. Nothing special of note there, just plain flour tortillas. they didn't bulk out the tacos with lots of extra slaw, but the chicken portion was very small for the size of tortilla they used. In the future, they should look at street taco tortillas. they're a bit smaller, but would make the chicken look like a significantly larger portion. Then if they use a seasoned crispy batter then dunk the tenders in the sauce then it would be a very awesome bite. for what we got, it was good but not great. They need to make little tweaks to get them to great, but it's easy enough to do. I hope to see some quality improvements going forward, but for now they are a solid choice if you're in the mood for unhealthy chicken.

The food was amazing and left me wanting to try more! The ordering process was easy, and the food was ready quickly, which is not always true for a food truck. Total time spent at the truck (ordering, waiting) was under 10 minutes. We got the arancini, which was so tasty and good. Nice and fresh, not dry inside, with chunks of meat and peas. The fra diavolo cauliflower was my favorite though. Crispy, in a tasty sauce, with a ton of goat cheese crumbled over it. A little hot, a little creamy, absolute perfection!! And, all of that for only $13! I love when food trucks have smaller bites so you can try stuff out. I'm not down with having to buy a whole pizza for $16 or whatever. It's an old truck, that has been refurbished, has a cool history and has been in business as a red hot dog truck for over 50 years. Maggie's has hot dogs, kielbasa and chili. They also have drinks, chips and cookies. Maggie's uses Mucke's natural casing dogs, which is definitely not something that most CT places use. Maggie's does not have any specialty hot dogs per se, but they do have their own chili and some other standard toppings to choose from. I ordered a hot dog with chili and mustard. I haven't had a Mucke's in a while. It seemed like it was probably steamed. Good flavor. Good snap. The chili sauce was meaty and tasty. Definitely above average for CT. The mustard was good too. I would definitely recommend Maggie's if you're in the area and want a hot dog or chili to go. 4.5 Stars

And I like me my meatballs. So I had to try them. They were not good. They made their meatballs very dense, a little too heavy on the breading and egg. The sauce was straight up hunts tomato sauce from a can barely warmed up. The cheese was cheap mozzarella but at least it was melted by the sauce No seasoning, no care, just a mound of meat with canned sauce and bagged cheese. The price was high, the quality was low, and I woukd rate it lower but I did not get food poisoning. So it has that going for it, I did not get sick and their food was edible. Given that this is a food truck, the benefit is that there's usually other options to try. They would need to make everything better or be really cheap to justify getting food from them.

Get there as close to their 6 am opening as possible because they may run out of their most popular donuts by 8 if not earlier. And bring cash. I arrived at 6:15 a.m. There was a steady flow of people, but no line and no apparent missing donut types. The donuts run on the smaller side, but they are a good value. Like $8 a dozen good value. The donuts were obviously fresh made and well executed. They were smartly packaged too. I tried parts of a cruller, a crumb, a cherry, a chocolate toasted coconut and a toasted coconut. All tasty. Great texture. High quality donuts. Gerry's has a classic vibe. There are some tables and some counter seats. Everybody I saw got takeout. Service was helpful and efficient. Gerry's Donuts is a 25 minute drive for me. But it would be worth visiting again. 4.5 Stars
