I had Dude's Donuts for the first time at "Celebrate Wallingford," where they had their food truck set up. So good! I tried their Apple Cider Donut which was warm and delicious. Definitely worth the $3.00. They also had a Cranberry Apple Cider drink special, which was cold apple cider with whole cranberries floating on top, it was so refreshing! And tasted great. The staff were friendly. I would recommend their donut truck for catering/events!

Mango Passionfruit refresher and mystery donut

My friend and I stopped by Dude's Donuts yesterday while in Evergreen Walk. Dude's Donuts is a fairly new addition to the area. The inside is clean and spacious with two tall tables but no chairs. They had a large menu of their coffee, specialty donuts, etc. They had about a dozen donuts to choose from. Next to the Boston Creme, was a similarly hole-less donut with yellow frosting and a question mark on it. They have some donuts which are a part of the Super Mario collaboration. I got the Super Mario Mystery donut. Since it looked like it might be very similar to the Boston Creme. I also got their Mango Passionfruit Refresher. This is tea mixed with some syrups and some mango chunks. The yellow mystery donut was awful. It was very chewy, a donut should have some firmness to it. The Creme it was filled with had almost no flavor to it, and there wasn't hardly any of it to begin with. It was mostly absorbed by the donut. The refresher was pretty good, but very sweet. It was a nice size, and I enjoyed eating the cold mango pieces once I was done with my drink. I would stop by Dude's Donuts for their coffee in the future but not for their donuts.

Weirdly enough, have not found this business posted yet. They do donuts, as the name suggests. They don't fry them up on-site, they bring them in freshly baked and they dress them as ordered. They have a pretty standard fare of regular donuts, along with apple cider donuts and usually a specialty donut to go with the season. The regular donuts are pretty good! Light and airy, sweet but not too sweet. You can tell they were made fresh that day because they don't have a greasy or hard exterior. Better than anything you will ever get at a chain location, for sure! Where they fall is with their specialty donuts. In most cases, the flavors are not pronounced enough. The donut will be good, but the rest of the toppings will be canned or preserved products which only really detracts from the overall product. Since the specialty donuts usually sell at a premium, it's usually not worth it. The apple cider donuts are good, but not fresh out the grease like other apple cider donut makers in ct. But if you want an apple cider donut, they do them well enough. cakey, sugary, crisp but sweet bites of apple dough. Price is high, but they usually only do fairs so they can charge appropriately. Overall, they are a good donut. I would like to see them put more care in their supporting items to elevate everything together. If you want a donut, they are a solid choice. Given that they are usually at fairs with a lot of other people selling food though, might be a hard choice

Apple Filled Donut

Dude Donut has a new store front in the Promenade at Evergreen Walk. They still have the food truck, but now there is a store where you could get the fresh homemade donuts. I visited towards the end of the day so the options were limited. I got an apple-filled donut which the employee told me was just added to the menu that day. The apple compote filled donut tasted delicious and fresh. The space is vibrant and there are some tables available to stand at and enjoy your donuts. The employee was very nice and happy to assist. I am definitely looking forward to returning.

Maggie's Hot Dog Truck had come up as a good hot dog spot in my area Yelp Searches. The history of…read morethe truck is addressed in pics and in other reviews. Bottom line. It's an old truck, that has been refurbished, has a cool history and has been in business as a red hot dog truck for over 50 years. Maggie's has hot dogs, kielbasa and chili. They also have drinks, chips and cookies. Maggie's uses Mucke's natural casing dogs, which is definitely not something that most CT places use. Maggie's does not have any specialty hot dogs per se, but they do have their own chili and some other standard toppings to choose from. I ordered a hot dog with chili and mustard. I haven't had a Mucke's in a while. It seemed like it was probably steamed. Good flavor. Good snap. The chili sauce was meaty and tasty. Definitely above average for CT. The mustard was good too. I would definitely recommend Maggie's if you're in the area and want a hot dog or chili to go. 4.5 Stars

Maggie's Hot Dog Truck is a restored 1934 GMC Model T-18, and the history alone is worth a look. It…read morestarted out transporting workers to CCC camps in the 1930s, then the State of Connecticut used it to move prisoners to work details, then it became an ice cream and popcorn truck in Hartford before eventually ending up in a junkyard. Robert "Red" McCormick later rescued and restored it, and it's been serving hot dogs for more than fifty years now. At this point it's basically a local icon for those who know, and can be found over on East River Drive in East Hartford. The menu is simple--hot dogs, kielbasa, chili, drinks, chips, cookies--and that's exactly the right call for a place like this. I had two hot dogs and both were great. Quick service, good flavor, and they were wrapped well enough that I had zero concerns about anything spilling on the way back to the office. Overall, a fun, straightforward lunch stop with good food, and fun character and history. If you appreciate old-school spots that keep things simple, this one's worth a visit.

I wish I read the reviews here on Yelp before committing to Patruno's place for my dinner choice…read more I feel badly because the people in the truck seemed really nice and I don't want to defame their business in any way, but their food leaves much to be desired. With a little effort this truck could be a gem!! Basically the equivalent of a 3 frozen meatballs on dinner rolls with canned sauce and a sprinkle of store brand shredded mozzarella, the meatball sliders were hard to choke down even when I was quite hungry. And at $13 + tip it wasn't a bargain. If the staff ever reads these reviews, please up your game a little and at least melt the cheese and toast the bun so it doesn't fall apart into a soggy mess. Sprinkle a dash of fresh oregano on the top so it has some flavor.

Had a lot of difficulty trying to find a review of this one. So I'm adding it in…read more They offer giant meatballs, meatballs on a stick, Meatball sliders, everything meatballs! And I like me my meatballs. So I had to try them. They were not good. They made their meatballs very dense, a little too heavy on the breading and egg. The sauce was straight up hunts tomato sauce from a can barely warmed up. The cheese was cheap mozzarella but at least it was melted by the sauce No seasoning, no care, just a mound of meat with canned sauce and bagged cheese. The price was high, the quality was low, and I woukd rate it lower but I did not get food poisoning. So it has that going for it, I did not get sick and their food was edible. Given that this is a food truck, the benefit is that there's usually other options to try. They would need to make everything better or be really cheap to justify getting food from them.
